The Magic Roundabout in South Lakeland

Lovely portion size for the money! We sat outside and the weather was lovely, but the street is a bit noisy (not the restaurants fault). Good place to stop at in Bowness!

Firstly the staff were not the friendliest I’ve come across. I was with my grandchildren and the music in the background had some seriously strong swear words, nit that I’m a prude but my grandchildren pointed it out to me, just didn’t think that was good at all. I had the steak sandwich and I ate hardly any of it, the steak (fillet??) was as tough as old boot leather!! The salad and the chips were edible. Needless to say I was not impressed at all.

Really good meal. Accommodated for allergies really well and quick service.

Nothing fancy about the full english breakfast, it’s just supermarket stuff fried and served. There were 2 waitors, 1 lady and 1 guy. No matter how accurately you describe the order, the waitor (guy) got it wrong. One plate was ordered with well done egg so the whole table got well done egg. They don’t distinguish between vegan and normal sausage. Never again. The lady waiter was really nice, who was in a good mood as compared to the other grumpy one. She even came to hand over the personal mug outside which we left in the restaurant by mistake.

We had breakfast together as a family. The bacon and sausages were perfectly crispy and delicious. The staff were friendly and respectful. The Blue Lady herbal tea was simply amazing. Thank you, guys. Hope to see you again soon.

Myself and my Wife had the veggie breakfast and my daughter had the pancakes banana and chocolate sause. The veggie breakfast was one of the best I had and would highly recommend it also the pancakes were really light and fluffy and my daughter really enjoyed them. The staff were all amazing and so friendly and it was nice to see it was also dog friendly. I would recommend any time of the day to get a drink or food from their. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The cost was about £46.00 for the breakfast and two latties and a smoothie but the breakfast set us up for the day. Outstanding.

I had the magic roundabout special breakfast it was lovely I was probably a bit greedy the eggs where not fried to my liking they seemed more poached than fried but the breakfast as a whole was very nice and the proper leaf tea was good as well.

Had the most delicious Full English breakfast here at the weekend. The staff were great and the plate of food was huge and tasted great. Absolutely what was needed. Will definitely be going next time we are I'm Bowness.

We were in the area and decided to try it here for breakfast. The staff were so lovely and polite and we thoroughly enjoyed everything about the place and the food!! Would definitely pop in if you’re in the area! (Also allows dogs, which was perfect for us!) ☺️

After reading the reviews we booked for evening meal. Sadly our food wasn’t as good as others who had visited. Ordered the sharing kebab one stick of chicken which was ok , one of beef which didn’t taste great at all and one stick of halloumi which had been waved at by the pan as was like it had just come out the packet. The 3 pitta breads were also the same like they had left the packet and gone straight on the plate. Staff however were brilliant really friendly and professional. Noticed we had left most of the meal and asked why we explained and he knocked 20% off the bill. Would probably give it another try as going off the reviews we were just unlucky and maybe got a rushed meal given to us.

Took 10 minutes for someone to take our order. A beer, mint tea and a burger and fries…. 15 minutes later the drinks hadn’t arrived. Chap came out to take our order (again) when we said we’d already ordered and still awaiting drinks…. He replied yeah the bar is backed up and walked off. There were only 2 lots of customers inside and 4 outside (Another 10 minutes later we gave up and told them we were leaving) As we left another family left as they were sat without anyone taking their order. The couple next to us said they didn’t blame us they’d waited over 30 minutes to get their food after ordering. Instead we went to the church and had 2 teas, 2 sandwiches, and a cake for £9. Beautiful selection as well.

Had a great Brunch here yesterday, I had pancakes with bacon and my partner had full English food was lovely, coffee was a little cold but wouldn’t let that put you off. Staff very friendly. Would definitely visit again

Walking past, we were seduced by the fragrant smell of cooking food. Our meals didn't disappoint; the ample, tasty portions of cauliflower and pepper curry with wild rice and battered fish, chunky chips and mushy peas were excellent value for money. The friendly staff were delightful and the decor characterful. Well worth the visit, we highly recommend.

If you take that magic beef burger, I hope your stomach knows no boundaries, cuz it's quite big. I'm 108kg guy and I still have to left some bun and tomatoes. Seriously - nice staff, very polite, helpful, drinks came as fast as possible and food just right after. All 4 of us where happy about it. Good place.

First of all the staff were attentive and went out of their way to check we had all we needed. I requested a low table when I booked because of mobility issues and this was provided. My husband ordered a chicken burger meal and there was lots of it and nicely presented. He said it tasted delicious. I ordered the salmon and it was so good. We would definately go there again.

Not local to Bowness, but found this little gem on the map and was hooked by the pictures of the food. The restaurant is really lovely and cosy, nice decor, and good music/vibes. The food was amazing - definitely recommend the garlic and herb kebab!!!! Exceptional portion sizes - it was a whopper! Great service and friendly staff. Would definitely visit again when in the area. 🙏

It is a lovely place to have breakfast; I highly recommend it. If you sit upstairs you get a lovely view of the street. The portions are decent and the salmon scrambled eggs have a lot of salmon. The service was really lovely, the romanian waitress was very friendly and give good advice about things to do around.

Magic is it not !! Waited over 1hour for food .when it didn't arrive asked where it was to be told it hadn't been ordered..the waitress said it my 3rd day and I'm on my own up here . They were 2 more couples in the upstairs so not really that busy 🙄. Left as was very frustrating

Great place to have breakfast .Warm friendly atmosphere, we were made very welcome with our Cocker Spaniel, who was given a free treat and fresh bowl of water. Good quality food, great portion size. We will definitely go back next time we are on holiday near windermere.

Massive disappointment after seeing the magic round about all our holiday and being really intreeged we actually went in on our last evening only to be disappointed by staff and what they had to offer looked and fun funky place from the outside but far from it inside

Called here for breakfast on our way home after our stay in bowness . It was extremely busy and we were lucky to get a table . Staff friendly and helpful and the food was very good especially my eggs benedict. Would recommend.

Lovely little gem. Came for breakfast which was hearty and delicious. The staff were warm and friendly and we even changed our planned hike based on a recommendation and it did not disappoint so thank you! Music was also great which gave the place a lovely vibe. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. The mushrooms with the scrambled eggs were the best we had tasted. The team was very welcoming and served us swiftly so we could board the boat for our cruise. Treat yourself. You won't be disappointed.

After walking around looking for somewhere to eat we came across this place and so glad we did, had a few vegetarian meals on the menu so my daughter was happy and the prices seemed fair in comparison to other eateries in the area. Most importantly the food was really good as was the service.

My first time going last night and the food was amazing and staff were so polite & always checking to make sure everything was ok with meal and if we needed anything else . Definitely recommend and would come again ☺️

Terrible service. We arrived and my partner asked if we could seat anywhere and the lady answered a rude NO. We wanted to sit by the window but it wasn't problem. After choosing or meals, same rude lady came to take the order and not a minute later she came back to ask me what was my order again because she just remembered my partners order. No problem, it's OK not to write down and forget 1 out of 2 dishes. Meanwhile people were arriving and sitting wherever they wanted and nobody said anything to them that they should wait to be seated. Almost 40 minutes later a guy came to ask if we had being served. We said yes. Another 10 minutes and the same guy asked if we haven't received our order. At this point we just got up and went to Costa Cafe. We were served in less than 10 minutes, which was great as were hungry for about an hour waiting for an order that most likely never made to the kitchen.

Delicious food, great service! Managed to accommodate 8 of us, food was so good, the portion sizes are huge! Service was brilliant, really lovely, friendly and welcoming!

We have visited Bowness several times but have only just visited this place. We went for breakfast which was really good. Lovely fresh juice and coffee and the food was hot and tasty. We were stuffed afterwards! Service initially was a little slow but it was busy so understandable. Sure we will be back on our next visit to Bowness.

Stopped in for a post walk breakfast and was great. Good food and drinks will happily be coming back again in the future

We stopped in this morning for a big breakfast. OMG, it was a BIG BREAKFAST! Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. I'll definitely make sure I come by this way next time I'm on the way home from the lakes.

A lovely little cafe in the centre of town ( Bowness or Windermere- never got the same answer twice ? 🤷‍♂️) We just had drinks and they were lovely. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Like most places ( not all ) they allow dogs which is a blessing Would visit again and recommend

Lovely quirky little drink spot. The food looked nice. We enjoyed sitting by the window and watching life in the town go by.

Popped it for a drink lovely cocktails we were in there with our dog for about an hour couple of cocktails dog was sat next to the wife on the chair no problem paid for the bill just finishing our drinks and was was told by the owner I presume dogs wernt allowed on the seats ,if he had said that when the dog was on the seat we would have taken him down nd gladly left

Very nice spot for breakfasts! after ordering our food was brought out very quick which was brilliant as we were both very hungry!! It was busy when we went but the servers had it all under control very well and made sure everyone was comfortable. Definitely reccomend!

On a recent visit to the area. We visited twice! Reason being, we were so impressed first time around. The young waitress was so happy and friendly, an asset for sure. The food is exceptional, and potion sizes were huge. The establishment is quirky and this creates such a wonderful atmosphere and ambience.

Lovely cafe right in the heart of bowness. Two floors with plenty of seats upstairs. Really good hot food menu for a cafe, the food was also very good and reasonably priced. Full range of hot drinks as well as beer wine and spirits Good service from all staff in this nicely themed cafe. No parking available so use public carpark and walk in. Dog friendly and a nice atmosphere even for a winter Monday lunch.

Had a magic butty for breakfast which should of been a toasted ciabetta with streaky bacon sausage but what I got was a soggy ciabetta with no bacon and a rubbish sausage and the price was so definitely not worth it so do yourself a favor and don't waste your money

Went here for cocktails, was shocked when it took so long to arrive at the table and for the cocktails to be in such small measures, I was also extremely disappointed at the price, £30 + for to very small and underwhelming cocktails , all round we where very disappointed

We dropped in for a coffee and cake on a cold November afternoon and received a lovely warm welcome. Delicious cake, the best mocha I’ve had in ages and excellent service. We definitely recommend stopping by.

Met some friends here for tea! We all went for the kebabs (chicken and beef) The food was absolutely divine! We also had the magic roundabout cocktail which was lovely!

Sat down and waited 30 minutes before walking out as no one even looked at us to order poor service!

Visited here many times - the food and service is great and the place is very inviting. My young sister also visited here with her friend when in Bowness for the day, and had lost her card and only had her bus fare home which she only realised after ordering a cocoa, she told them she would have to cancel and they gave her the cocoa as a good Will gesture anyway. Not often you get people this kind hearted these days , definitely recommend visiting here and I also will return.:) Also visited this weekend and the tapas was delicious!

Called in on arrival for a long weekend with friends for a light lunch after two hours travelling.we all opted for a sandwich switched tea or coffee although I did partake in a pint due to not driving after all I was on my holidays! The food was freshly prepared and it was delicious as was the cider!! Recommended for good fresh food and a really relaxing atmosphere. Staff were spot on. Price wise it was very reasonable.

It's a good cozy place, and the staff is very courteous. You'll enjoy your time after roaming around the lake and sit there for lunch maybe. It's important to note that they have a very very limited menu for Halal food, hence if you're looking for Halal food this place might not be in your wishlist.

The place is nice and comfy , 3 adults and 2 kids as family with our dog 🐕 border collies. Staff is very friendly, especially Maya. I highly recommend it to the family.😍👍👌

GLAD I DIDN'T WASTE MY TIME. EXTREMELY RUDE 22/09 After myself and my partner trying to call for 45 minutes and the phone just ringing, I finally got through. I was going to book online but wanted to see if I needed to book or not. I was greeted by such an appalling manner, like I was causing such an incredible inconvenience. Anyway, I asked him if you have to book not walk in, without stating what day I was wanting to attend. I received a response of we're fully booked, which such hostility. I advised I hadn't stated a date and that online I could book. To which the response was well I said we're booked. Obviously due to the remarkable experience, I decided not to go. 23/09 we walked past all tables had reserved sign's except for a few out front yet it was empty. We Walked past an hour later and people who wanted food were being turned down, to their disappointment and confusion, with it being empty except one couple having a drink out front.

After a terrible meal elsewhere came here for desserts and it saved our night! Lovely staff, great bubble gum Mocktails for the kids. Thanks so much, we'll be back!! x

What a restaurant!! Raul and Tommy were excellent. Ran the place very well. Friendly, professional and efficient. Just what you want. Food was amazing. Deffo coming again !!!

When on holiday I love to review the places where people can enjoy a good meal. Service was great very friendly, chips tasted amazing however the burger let the meal down a little a tad on the greasy side. All in all it was a cool place to eat with a good vibe and relaxing atmosphere. The Magic roundabout decor on the outside of building vibrant colours.

Don’t go here. We ordered waffles with mixed berries and we received store bought packaged waffles with around 6 raspberries each. A bug crawled out of one of them so we knew they hadn’t even been washed. Luckily we were not charged for these meals, but we left immediately, very disappointed having read the glowing reviews

Lovely place and helpful staff, the soup arrived lukewarm, but they happily warmed it up for us, the sticky toffee pudding was gorgeous.

This place is great, the food quality is fantastic. The service was very friendly, and they were very eager to assist with one of our group who has a progressive disability. Toilets are upstairs in this place they assisted getting our group member back down. We thought the place was slightly on the expensive side! However due to the quality we were happy to pay this as a treat! I highly recommend the Magic roundabout because although for us it was expensive the quality and service is spot on!
