First review of this cafe, located within the range at Eccles. Our Christmas shopping so popped into the range to try the cafe, the food is shocking, bland and undercooked (jacket potato) staff not the best. Massively avoid and go McDonald’s or subway instead (both available on the same retail park)

Went in town to find this place but it is nowhere to be seen. I am not sure if this is a shop or a stall in market. But I would have given it 5 star if it actually existed. The photo is misleading. Will be visiting town again soon so hope to try some good coffee here.

Service slow and not a great choice of drinks... does improve with the right team... hopefully my next visit will be better

Poor customer service. Very slow and lazy. Asked staff for allergy guidelines as I have limitations as to what I can and can not consume to be told we are busy preparing. Disgusting

After a lengthy journey from Glasgow to Manchester, I found myself having a late-night meal at the Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport’s “The Grill” restaurant. I decided to enjoy a repast here following the front desk’s statement that the restaurant served up “classic English dishes;” thus, I figured this would be a grand opportunity to partake in some English fish & chips, which is exactly what I ordered. But more on that in a moment. The Crowne Plaza (Manchester Airport) describes The Grill thusly: “Stylish contemporary restaurant offering a wide choice of modern cuisine in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.” I’m not exactly sure what makes this establishment “stylish” or “contemporary.” To my mind it was quite generic, even for a hotel restaurant. It’s basically a large open space adjacent to the lobby. The main restaurant area is lined with small white-topped tables with black chairs. There’s sparse artwork on the walls, but it adds little to the overall atmosphere and environment. Indeed, even the hotel’s propaganda photos on their official website cannot properly hide the lifeless physical space. To The Grill’s credit, their dinner menu actually sounded attractive on paper. As noted above, I settled on their classic English fish & chips. The food came in good time and looked decent enough; however, appearances can be deceiving – as I quickly found out. My piece of fish was impressive in its size, BUT when I bit into said fish, not only did I almost break my teeth, but all I ended up getting was a mouthful of crunchy batter. It turns out that literally HALF the “piece of fish” was nothing more than batter . . . and the fish that was there was paper thin and dry (see photo). To add insult to injury, my steak fries were barely warm. I’d be doing readers a disservice if I failed to mention the service received during dinner. In short, it was ho-hum. I’d first intended to eat a meal at the Hotel Bar (located in the same space as The Grill, but separated by a brown railing enclosure); however, after sitting for about 10-minutes without any form of acknowledgement, I moved down in to the restaurant section. Here, service was rather cold. The server showed up to take my order and then disappeared until I flagged him down to satisfy my bill. For a 4-star hotel, their restaurant staff is pretty mediocre. What saves The Grill from the dreaded 1-star rating is the breakfast buffet I enjoyed the following morning. It was well laid out and easily beats any sort of breakfast buffet you might get in North America. It featured a nice assortment of pastries, jellies, eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, fruit juices, beans, tomatoes, sausages, breakfast spuds, ham and cold cuts. In short, I was left satisfied just before embarking upon my trans-Atlantic journey. FOOD: 2/5 SERVICE: 1/5 VALUE: 2.5/5 RECOMMENDATION: I’m not sure if I just chose the wrong item, but the fish & chips that were had here was nothing short of abysmal. I can honestly say I’ve had better fish out of the grocer’s freezer. Breakfast, though, was decent. In the unlikely event I attend the Crowne Plaza (Manchester Airport) again, I would likely patronize Sampans Oriental Restaurant because at least their propaganda photos look appealing. Wonderful staff & excellent coffee. Spotlessly clean throughout the store. Very busy with drive through trade yet didn't neglect the cafe customers. Customer parking with car reg. Helpful with exiting store with wheelchair user.

Really slow service in the queue making an order. So... inefficient. Food mediocre. Discrepancies with the bill. Staff somewhat unfriendly. Came for the lunchtime special offer and free drinks which at least made the experience acceptable to a degree. Not an isolated experience so won't be visiting again.

There is plenty of places to eat from. We call in a lot on way to or back from Preston. Most of the time it's clean , but on odd occasion the tables haven't been cleaned.

Can't understate how bad this place is, the staff on the till were the worst I have ever come across, got a blank stare and yeah after each item. Asked for two cans of pop and was given a blank stare, she took the order 23 quid for two portions of fish and chips and two cans of pop. When the food arrived it arrived at the till with the staff playing around with each other, I went and fetched them in the end to there amusement, think my fish was skin in batter, my wife bit hers said it's too greasy and pushed it away. Avoid this place at all costs truly awful!

Normally great here but since removing some seating from this very busy costa in Next, it’s not easy to get a seat. There’s several seats in the outside area but this was LOCKED!! Staff didn’t make me aware of this until after I’d purchased a drink so stood there like an idiot with nowyto sit. Luckily I’d requested a takeaway cup so had to sit in my car to drink my coffee. INFURIATING!!

Can't say anything about the food here, but the service is a bit up and down, and the last 2 times we have been there they were out of decaf coffee. Why is it so difficult for cafes to stock decaf?

Visited prense well recently was very busy one person serving at the bar. Ordered food told would be 20 minute wait. Food arrived 50 minutes later sorry not good enough honesty is the better policy which wouldve given us the option to eat elsewere. Clearly not enough staff here especially in kitchen. We eat alot at wetherspoons in liverpool and this has to be the worse for service. Will not visit again.

Lovely spacious and clean cafe, found a tray, cutlery etc easily, all stored neatly and immaculate. Stood for ages trying to find any staff to serve me - I could hear them chatting and laughing but couldn’t see anyone. Eventually got served by a lovely member of staff and received my food quickly. Chips were lovely, gravy was as thin as dishwater and the sausages so dry and chewy I wrapped them in a napkin for my dog later ! Needed a lot of salt and vinegar to cheer that meal up - I was that hungry I was feeling faint, otherwise I’d have sent it back. You have to ask for vinegar, it’s not left out to use ??. Possibly the hot food is left out too long and dries out. No plans to visit again…..

Købte en chai latte og det er den værste jeg nogen gang har smagt, smakte næsten kun av sukker og så var den lunken.. FORFÆRDELIG
