Cafe Morrisons in Barrow-in-Furness

Terrible. Disrespectful to customers. For the second time I ordered a breakfast takeaway on Uber Eats from this cafe. Requested to get more eggs and hash browns instead of sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes and avocado. (Just 1 or so, as I don’t like all of these). For the second time they send me the breakfast as it is (pretending like I didn’t request anything, no ‘sorry we can’t do it’, no nothing) and sending me the receipt with my written request on it with the order. Just simply avoid, whoever is managing this cafe clearly knows nothing about customer service. It is a joke. The first time it happened I let it slide but the second time is just plain rude. If you can’t meet your customers requests at least let them know. Don’t pretend they haven’t asked you for anything. Considering I’ve been hearing awful things about this cafe recently, I will not try it ever again.

An average breakfast, no fried eggs for some reason. Service ok, tables dirty and uncleared .Staff very helpful and friendly.

Visited the cafe yesterday, I have been to many Morrisons cafes before but this particular Morrisons cafe is one I will not be visiting again, extremely short staffed, waited 15 mins for the coffee machine to be filled with coffee beans and milk as they had run out, ordered two breakfasts, they arrived 45 mins later, hash browns over done, beans arrived in little milk jugs covered in bean juice all round the sides dripping everywhere, the rest of the food items were just warm, sausages tasted awful, don’t know what they were!! the cafe was also very cold, had to sit in our jackets, freezing cold air blowing out of the air conditioning, come on Morrisons this cafe needs to be given a good sort out, we certainly won’t be visiting again in the near future 😡

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the appalling state of the Morrisons Cafe in Barrow-in-Furness. After reading the damning TripAdvisor reviews, I visited the cafe in the hope that the feedback might have been addressed. Instead, I found the criticisms entirely justified and experienced firsthand what can only be described as a wholly unacceptable level of service and standards. The most frustrating issue was the refusal to serve hot food 30 minutes before closing time. This is utterly unacceptable and reflects poorly on both the staff and management. If the cafe is open, customers should receive full service until closing time—not be turned away. The main aim of the backsliding staff appeared to be turning people away when they ought to have been served. Additional concerns include: 1. Freezing Cold Environment: The cafe was bitterly cold and far from inviting. At best, it was clear no effort had been made to provide a comfortable setting for customers. Was this done deliberately by the staff to put people off coming in to the cafe so they could have an easier time of it? 2. Shocking Lack of Cleanliness: Tables were left dirty for extended periods, with food remnants and sticky surfaces everywhere. The overall hygiene of the cafe was disgraceful. What on earth is the Cafe Manager doing, and why hasn't the store Manager realised that the Cafe is delinquent? 3. Unprofessional Staff: The staff were indifferent and unwelcoming, showing no interest in customer service or maintaining the cafe’s reputation (it's probably shot to ribbons now anyhow, and rightly so). The TripAdvisor reviews paint a dire picture, and my experience has only confirmed that the Barrow-in-Furness cafe is failing its customers in every possible way. This is not what I expect from Morrisons, a brand I have trusted for years. The current state of this cafe is a disservice to your loyal customers and tarnishes the reputation of your brand.

tables were dirty, food was cold, took 40 mins to get 1 sausage and barely had any food which was on the menu. the hot chocolate was the only drink on the refillable machine

Pots filthy had to sort through for one food was cold very run down not like other morison I have been'to

The cafe area was freezing. Customer were eating their meals wearing coats and hats. When I asked a member of staff why it was so cold she told me that it wasn't a problem for her as she didn't feel the cold. The food was also cold.

Nightmare! Arrived at cafe at 2 pm. No staff about and went by kitchen to find staff.Told that no staff to serve and come back in half an hour. We went to complain to duty manager. She got someone to serve us but no apology or offer of complimentary drink etc. The table we sat at and numerous other ones had food on the floor and cafe in a wretched state.

Food was ok and served by the supervisor kristianne who was rude! She was the downfall of the cafe and our experience and how she spoke to her staff was so rude too…I highly doubt they will be keeping there staff!! Shame really as the other staff were lovely and food good although it was like going on a Durley bear hunt trying to find the chips on the plate!

Appalling experience. Coffee bar closed but no sign to denote this for customers. When staff asked if it was open they said nobody had turned the machine on so it was not heated up yet. Several other customers came to be told the same. Staff member was rude claining people were abusive purely because they complained the service was usually this bad. Ordered a crumpet and it arrived cold. Complained to staff, same person as above, that it did not look cooked I was patronisingly told it had been. Will not be coming back and saw several other people leave too.

Friendly staff, dirty cutlery and hard poached eggs which I was told by a waitress come in ready cooked, then heated up. Nice cup of tea.

After being almost 3 yrs since my last visit to Barrow in Furness store , I thought I'd pop in for a lovely all day breakfast as was feeling hungry and remembered how nice my previous visit was. I was sorely disappointed. Almost all the self serve drinks units were not working as cleaning was in progress, yet there was no sign of anyone cleaning. Dust and dirt covered the top of the machines . The coffee cups , although warm from being through a dishwasher were either washed with dirty water or , been used that much were just tinged brown . Knifes and forks didn't fair any better. When placing our order , the lady behind the checkout asked us what table we were say at . Given there were no signs to instruct anyone to get their table first before ordering, my wife and I told the lady we hadn't known this. We were then rudely told to pick a table so she could put our order through . My wife kindly asked for no egg with her meal and was huffed at by the lady and in previous visits , my wife has chosen an extra sausage or rather of bacon to replace the egg . The lady then rolled her eyes and almost snapped my wife's head off saying , you can take items off your meal but we don't add extras, yet I was able to add black pudding as an extra with my meal !. Beginning to feel we were an inconvenience we then sat at our table patiently waiting for our food . Noticing the table we had sat at was still dirty from its precious occupants I asked if I could have something to wipe my table down with , I was rudely cut short before even finishing asking and borderline barked at . Being told, the table had been wiped and cleaned. Not wanting to cause a scene . I returned to my table and waited for my food . This did arrive in good time and was nice as I remember but I think this will definitely be my last visit given the lack of customer service my wife and I received. Given the fact we are still in the grip of a global pandemic and cases again are rapidly increasing I would have expected higher levels of cleaning and hygiene practices.

Luke warm coffee from machine, very poor choice and slow service. Dirty tables not cleared all in all very poor this time around Sorry

First time back in Barrow in almost 20 years and after a night out on the piss to celebrate :-), I just fancied something to eat to settle the stomach and ease that "one too many", morning after feeling. So, after walking to view a rental property through horizontal hail stones in (what some of the locals call) downtown "Beirut", which is soon to be shortlisted as a location for the next zombie apocalypse film, i walked into the local Morrissons on Saturday morning about 11am looking forward to a hearty breakfast. After carefully considering the options, I ordered the "Big Daddy". Little did I know, I was in for big disappointment. Instead of the 3 meaty sausages, 3 thick rashers of bacon, 3 hash browns,2 sunny side up fresh soft eggs, 1 round of fried bread, Heinz beans, mushrooms, black pudding x2, and tomatoes (with an e) i was presented with the largest pile of inedible crap I've had the misfortune of looking at since my first xmas dinner with a previous girlfriends family almost 30 yrs ago, a memorable experience indeed....., (Everything cooked at the same time on the same heat - the night before, and yes, I was mighty glad to have had a few when embarking upon that meal I can tell you). Anyway, I digress, back to Morrisons. The sausages were re-deep fried warm ups, no idea what they were made of (i feared the worse when I i noticed the adjacent barber shop). Thankfully they were still hot, and despite their burnt and crispy appearance, were just about edible. (You just can't beat a bit of "Long Pig"). The bacon was wafer thin, and i mean transparrent, similar to that of a skin graft, cold and still squealing (not fully cooked), the hash browns were crunchy on the outside, semi cooked on the inside, eggs, now i used to play squash occasionally, and hell yea baby you could play a whole tournament with these puppies. They looked like they had been hanging around since last xmas. Fried bread, that was Ok! HURRAH or is it Hooray, something that they can cook, Mushrooms, they were once, I'm sure of it pre cooking, Heinz beans, yea right, if they were Heinz, then that big black sausage shaped cigar thing in the yard is an air balloon! And yes, where were the two pieces of black pudding? Either I was so hungover, I do not remember eating them (which is highly unlikley) or they must have done a runner from kitchen to table....or maybe they were even more thinly cut than the bacon and were completely transparrent on the plate. Either way it was a total mystery to me where they went. And yes, if I were feeling a little less fragile at the time, I would have offered some constructive advice and guidance on "HOW TO COOK A DECENT BREAKFAST". Come on Morrissons, rise to the challenge and up your game in the breakfast department! So to sum up, if you need a good breakfast, please don't go to Morrissons Barrow-In-Furness, but instead go to one of the local independants like the Seabreeze cafe (Church Street) about 5 mins away in town, it is far superior, their fish n chips are also excellent.

I had fish and chips here and it was very nice the cafe was so busy ,the staff were rushed off their feet I had a 10 min wait but I was told there was a wait,absolutely great,the place was great very clean ,it's a supermarket not a gourmet restaurant if you want 5* go to the lake district and pay top dollar ,well done Morrison's.

What an amazing Christmas meal at Morrison's. myself and 18 fellow runners booked a meal there today. Not sure what to expect at only £7.50 for 3 courses but at that price you could hardly complain whatever was served (although I'm sure some people would). As it turned out the food was amazing. Excellent portions of delicious starters, an incredible plateful of a tasty main course and brilliant desserts. Our table was decorated superbly, nice touches of chocolates, xmas crackers and mince pies. The staff were excellent, friendly and efficient service. Could not fault this in any way apart from the fact its not available on Xmas Day so I could take all my family !!! Best value-for-money meal EVER. Thanks to Lisa and all the staff. Hope you all have a lovely Xmas and New Year.

Visted the cafe for something to eat took a leisurely meal then went around and did some shopping, £50 parking fine!! Outrageous!!!!! Never ever using this supermarket again no other supermarket in Barrow rips its customers off like this!

Uncleaned trays (all be it with an indication they might have had the remains of previous spilled meal smeared over with a grotty wipe), unclean cups, and unclean cutlery. This place truly is appalling. Avoid!!!!

There were 4 of us, service was good and food was of decent quality. Good price, clean and tables cleared quickly. All in all a nice visit. Staff very helpful and pleasant.

Went with friends and the food was very poor had a chicken burger was not nice at all I would not recommend this place to anyone the food is cold and does not taste nice at all!!!

My pal and I called in for our lunch, the service was great and the staff were very pleasant. Tables had been cleared and clean. Our food came promptly and was very good. Decent price to. Really enjoyed it this time.

Cuesta solo 10. 00 todo en bebidas pero tiene que ser después de las 15: 00.Fantástico, según las imágenes, el pescado totalmente satisfecho era encantador y bien presentado. Tuvo que esperar unos 12 minutos pero no fue un problema.Restaurante bien diseñado y limpio.Recuerde que solo obtiene 2 horas de estacionamiento gratis, así que vaya al servicio al cliente para obtener estacionamiento extendido

I'm not expecting massive things from a supermarket cafe, but being able to read a ticket is a basic.A new ordering system looked like it would make everything easy. Yeah right! I ordered the big full veggie breakfast sandwich with no eggs. Remove eggs where I'm from means no egg. A twenty minute wait for basic food was made longer by the incompetence of the 'cooks'. A large bap filled with everything including the eggs arrived at the table. That was the first send back.A further God knows how long to get the order correct. This time the VEGETARIAN breakfast came in two small baps. I took a big bite. A horrible taste in my mouth found that the moron had put bacon in my vegetarian sandwich. Maybe it was on purpose for sending the first back. It took a lot of will power not to walk in to the kitchen and throw the food at Cookie McCantread. My partner had near enough finished her food and had to wait for mine. Next time I want to treat myself and my partner I'll remember to take a dictionary just incase I need to educate people while I'm there. I felt terrible for the server. It must be hard having to deal with mistakes by the illiterate kitchen staff all day. My money was refunded and I was told I could take a sandwich on the way out. Very kind of the front of house staff but I wouldn't trust anything made in that kitchen. The server was pleasant enough and said I could help myself to another drink. Kind of her, but by the time the food arrived I wasn't up for eating.

Called in for lunch with mate, the food was decent and hot at decent price.It was lunch time so quite busy, service was quick and staff very friendly. Had to wait for eating irons but they arrived before the foodAll the knife and fork boxes were empty. Potty the machines don't serve hot coffee similar to the coffee bar area, it's always like warmBut all in all pretty good this time around

Ordered a breakfast, and found a black wirery hair, I had to leave it, it made me feel sick, hair doesn't usually bother me in food but this looks like either facial or pubic .. won't be eating here again, unless the correct hair nets are used!Table also wasn't wiped down, crumbs on chair.Staff don't look or sound very confident in what there doing.I know this is only a supermarket cafe and you get what you pay for but the hygiene should be alot higher then it is currently.
