Costa Coffee in St. Helens

I came to Costa for a coffee waited quite a long time to be served when I got there they were a lot of people waiting for there coffee and was told it would be a ten to fifteen minutes wait I said ok when I gave a 10pound note to be told they did not take cash . I felt very embarrassed I did not see a sign saying cards only . I thought cash was legal tender in this country . I have passed this on to Costa themselves as I feel you are part of this large company and don’t care about customers which is what Costa is all about

I am a member of staff and I feel like I have to leave this review with hope that someone high above sees it and gets the place sorted. This coffee shop never has cold drinks available. They have a big board advertising them all but every time I go none are available. The frustrating thing is you wait for ages to be served and only get told this when trying to place order. This is unacceptable that staff are wasting precious break time on this. Not to mention the rude staff when informing you. No ice. No cold drinks. Why don't they have a board that informs customers what they don't have instead of making then wait 15/20 mins. Needs a revamp. Worst Costa ever. Highly over priced. Don't waste your money.

I don't like posting bad reviews unless the experience really is truly bad...and sadly this place is one of the saddest places I've been. If this place was in a suicide prevention clinic then, I'm sad to say, nobody is getting out alive. Here's why-: Super slow service (and I mean super slow, like every time the barista goes to the coffee machine it has morphed into something different and they must spend some time figuring out how it works) Dirty tables...the tables were rarely cleaned before but with all this Coronavirus stuff, you think they would have picked up the pace a little...but no, not much Sad staff...the staff just always look p*ssed off It is a shame

After a stressful few hours in A&E at Whiston Hospital with an elderly relative I nipped to Costa for a toasted sandwich. I was aware it shut at 19.00 so got there at 18.40. Toastie in hand to the till only to be told they couldn't do a toastie as they close at 19.00 and machine was closed down!

Had been pleasant at lunchtime , last hour poor on many levels, closing at 1700, so ordering at 1610 I didn’t expect to not have plates or proper cups. I had too have four cups for two teas and when I said I didn’t need PLASTIC lids the were forced upon me. I removed them, being an adult I know that hot tea burns. DOH! What is actually more dangerous is trying to drink tea out of a double cupped brew! And the milk was poured in before the brew had brewed, thus drowning the flavour of the bag. The loyalty card I picked up earlier I left on the counter. Additionally my tiffin for two came in two wasteful paper bags

The service here has to be the slowest I’ve ever known. I know they get busy sometimes but even today, only 2 people waiting, it took around 20 mins to get my coffee !! My toastie was cold by the time I sat down. Staff need to be quicker and more customer focused.

Baristas are on a different planet, no eye contact, no pleasant chat, no customer interaction whatsoever, though the girl who took my order was fine.

Came in for a medium latte and this dumb chavy girl who's name is Nick tried to give me the wrong drink, had a hissy fit and then tried to blame it on me saying I should know what I ordered. Then I heard her saying vile things about me and other customers in the back. Her gob is so big the whole shop could hear her. Then she stood there for ten minutes while it was busy doing nothing but talking about highly inappropriate subjects infront of kids while moaning she doesn't get paid enough for this. She looks dirty and I will always refuse to get a coffee of this 'child' as she clearly doesn't know how to do her job. Shocking. The other two girls where amazing one had tattoos ll up her arms and the other had purple and black glasses I'd give them a 10/10

Nipped in costa after work, there was just me to be served there was 3 staff working behind the counter I was still 10 minutes plus waiting to be served, not actually sure why, I eventually was acknowledged, the 1 staff did apologise & then went on to mumble something to himself about that he shouldn’t even be on the till!! Doesn’t In still any customer service skills whatsoever, disappointing service yet again

Had a chocolate twist and wasn’t expecting to find a hair in it was very disappointed and has put me well off from eating there again

Awful coffee, not up to the usual Costa standard at all. Like hot milk. Tables dirty too and staff nonchelant. Dont bother!

Very long queues even if there is only 1 or 2 people waiting to be served it still takes just as long to get served not sure why you can never just go in there and be in and out! Staff can be quite abrupt with you as well at times which isn’t very welcoming or very good customer service at all. I go there as it’s my place of work so its convenient, however, if there was another choice I would pick that instead.

Visited twice this week - on first occasion no de-cafe coffee, staff didn't seem unduly worried or apologetic! On second occasion - ordered white hot chocolate only to be told its no longer on the menu, despite still being advertised (perhaps a bit of sticky tape would help?)! Then ordered hot chocolate - only to be told no cream, then no soya milk! Staff are unfriendly and place just feels dirty. And NO card facility! Costa - have you been here recently??? Your name is being besmirched!

The money person was very nice. The girls making coffee were to busy chatting and provarocating even though there was a queue out of the shop. Would not recommend this Costa.

Disgraceful service ... I called in this costa at 4 pm to find a lot of seating area closed off the store doesn’t close til 9pm !!!!!! Ordered flat white my coffee shot was put on and sat there before milk even heated up it tasted disgusting .. then when I found a table sat down and member of staff came over spraying pink spray all over table where my drink was !!!!!

Came in to the hospital as partner is having a baby. Visited twice asked for a DRY Cappuccino and received a latte twice! 3 baristas on the bar but still stood for over 5 minutes waiting even though it was quiet, 3 people to make 2 coffees? Sat with my partner for over half an hour at a dirty table, walked past by 4 different baristas including the manager but the tables were not cleared (see photo). Poor, lucky you have a captive audience!

i was here for work and bought 2 coffee there were only 4 people ahead of me and 4 members of staff on but only one of them actually seamed to be working it took over 10 minutes to get served to rub salt into the wounds the said they did not take the rewards card which is stupid as it should be accepted at all costa coffee branches

I have been to quite a few Costas and thought they were pretty good until I stumbled across this one . The coffee was like dishwater and the staff were so disinterested. You could tell that the other customers were not impressed either.

Utilizada en el Hospital de Costa Coffee warrington por segunda vez la latte era como leche caliente sin sabor. Como esta en el hospital no hay ningún otro sitio a donde ir. No usuales. estándar costa Basura. También este lugar no está en la lista en su sitio web por alguna razón también tiene el nombre de barman. Podría ser mucho mejor

Unbelievable but there were 6 staff behind the counter. It was late afternoon and only 4 customers waiting to be served yet it took 20mins to just get a coffee. One customer was in a mobility scooter (this is a hospital). Staff just chatted especially...

Visita aquí mucho porque de citas hospital. tienen que esperar demasiado tiempo para ser servido también puedo conseguir puntos costa. arriba cafe es mucho mejor y más barato.

Nunca más me voy a ir de aquí. Todos los asientos estaban upended en las mesas, aunque había más de una hora para ir antes del cierre. Pedimos tarta que fue puesta en bolsas de lo que significaba todo el topping era en la bolsa....

No hay wifi, así como la mala crítica que 5* así conseguir wifi internet wifi, una parte esencial de la vida moderna. De lo contrario VG.

Asientos cómodos. Mucho espacio para sentarse. Personal amable y educado. La comida es de buena calidad y bebidas. Ubicado dentro de tesco.

Estoy de acuerdo con parte de los otros comentarios, no se pueden usar su tarjeta de regalo. Mientras visitaba el hospital por 5 días cada día que es un montón de café y puntos que debería de dio! También personal alrededor habla de su vida...

Costa es muy caras en el mejor de los tiempos, así que imagino que nos dijeron, ni siquiera usar su tarjeta de coleccionista? Costa café? Mucho costa!

Called in to get a drink for a friend. Was fine for a coffee venue within a hospital, but disappointed that they don't do the costa points (either awarding the or letting you pay with them), especially as the vista in Warrington hospital does allow both so it isn't a hospital location thing.

They have a good choice of books to read as you drink your coffee, you can buy them if you want to. Tend to always have a cappuccino which is always enjoyed, good range of cakes and snacks.

I wouldn't normally visit a café in a hospital for refreshments, but a family member has had a number of appointments here and so my choice has been somewhat directed.When you walk into Costa inside the 'airport-style' Whiston Hospital foyer, you're greeted by exactly the same colours, posters, décor and choices as you see in every single Costa in the World. However, this one is different because it is much, much worse.Management appears non-existent, you have to wait for a ridiculously long time just for a hot beverage because staff are ridiculously slow, and they keep getting the order wrong.Costa is an international brand with a high reputation everywhere, but the laziness and ineptitude of the staff (from the management downwards) makes this one of the very, very, very worst in the chain.Visit elsewhere guys, honestly.
