Great place with a diverse menu a d a chef that will make something bespoke for vegetarians or those with allergies. The bespoke veggie dish was delicious, will definitely be back for more.

Been a while since I’ve been here, So sad that this place has gone down hill. Booked via the owner who had promised a gluten free menu in advance, didn’t happen. Arrived only to be met by a very flustered but nice supervisor who had no clue of our booking. Then very poor gluten free choices. Requested to speak to manager to ge told they were too busy. Then sat and listening to a group Of woman screaming and shouting disgusting and racist language. Waited almost an hour Mains arrived all Cold but one particularly feezing. Told the supervisor who took it away, only to send it back once it had been microwaved and included my cut up potatoes and burnt gravy. Very apologetic staff but no offer to replace. Granted they didn’t charge for my meal but over all a huge let down. Amusing to find out that the chef was the owner!

Went to Kozi last night as family members had loved the food after recently reopening however our evening was completely ruined by a large group of people which could only be described as performing to each other. The noise levels were horrendous, so much so that we and the table behind us complained and another couple simply left. Now if you know this restaurant you'll be aware it is small intimate dining of a price you would consider to be a certain ambience... this group made it sound like we were in wacky warehouse or a play centre. When a complaint was made to staff members was simply told they're paying the same as us... however as the group finally left we realised whey they were reluctant to do anything about it as they were friends and possibly family. Well they can thank them next time they see them for making loyal frequent customers who will never recommend or return again. Far better places in Rainhill including Blue Mango, and spice inn. Or if happy to go further afield Antonio's in knowsley village is far superior food and ambience for a similar style as kozi.

This restaurant has been taken over recently. I visited it many times with prwvious owners it WAS good. Visited last night starters were ok main meal an insult. Lamb rump was chewey and tough (I doubted it was rump). I told the waitress who spoke to the chef but nothing was done other than the waitress came back and said it was braised for 6 hours. When I got the bill the item which was quite expensive was still on when I asked the waitress to remove it she wouldn't. I paid the bill as I didnt want to cause a scene as there were other people still dining. The waitress has no idea what customer service is or in fact how to deal with customers. I will not return to the restaurant and advise customers to keep away so that they are not dissappointed
