Had been to the Sunday Market at South Shields. We decided to go again to Suzies cafe for a coffee. We found a parking space and my husband went to get them I had a hot soup (vegable) and my husband had a coffee. Both really enjoyable. While were.sitting in the car.a car pulled in a disabled bay, no disabled badge.on. They didn't pay. I'm disabled and .always show my badge. Then another car pulls.up ( we were in a norma bayl as no disable.were free when we parked) along beside us, gets out dad,ma m amdchild. They too didn't pay. When we were coming out spotted two traffic wardens - hope 2 cars get a ticket.

Quick note before review. They only accept cash. I wanted to try it as it is a lovely setting and bakehouse. I went in at 10:30am and fancied some quiche off the menu. It wasn't ready (wasn't cooked). There really wasn't anything that made it a bakehouse on the day. I ended up having homemade broccoli and stilton soup and a old school corned beef toastie which was quite nice.

I've visited this place a few times after enjoying the sea, and each time, I've been warmly welcomed by the younger staff members. However, the last 3 times I’ve had a rather disappointing experience with one older blonde woman who seemed unhappy about visitors. On my first visit, I witnessed her sternly talking to a new staff member for mistakenly trying to serve food to the wrong tables, loudly declaring, “Next time, ask staff which table you're going to because it looks unprofessional.” Ironically, she was the only one exhibiting unprofessional behavior! Despite that encounter, I returned, drawn by the positive atmosphere and the friendliness of the other staff. Unfortunately, during my second visit after our beach outing, she was again on duty. While she served us our drinks, her demeanor suggested she was less than pleased with the walk in customers. After I paid, she abruptly instructed us to wait outside, despite the chilly weather and not informing us that there were no available tables inside before we ordered in which we would’ve went elsewhere. In a moment of optimism, I decided to give it another shot, but once again, I was met with rudeness from her. It’s truly unfortunate because the rest of the staff are fantastic, helpful and welcoming and they create a delightful experience. However, this one individual casts a shadow over what could be an amazing place to visit. Sadly, I don't think I’ll be returning again because of her attitude. Nice food and drinks too, such a shame.

Been previously to Love Lily both Roker and Herrington and always enjoyed. Today at Roker food wasn’t up to usual standard pancakes don’t seem fresh slightly colder than normal and harder on the surface with a slight chewiness. No one came to the table to ask if everything was ok. Service ok from the 2 younger members of staff both smiley and bubbly. The older blonde member of staff with tattoos and a nose ring was rude and miserable (no name badges to identify other than a description) Overall disappointed last treat of the hols, normally I don’t mind the price for the novelty and quality but today I’m a bit disgruntled at what felt like a waste of money. Lastly music too loud we could barely have a conversation?! What is that about in such a venue?! Also expecting 5 people to squeeze on a small table for 4 people is madness. No room for food or drinks?!

I took my wife for lunch as its her birthday, and even when our daughter and little grandsons turned up, the staff found us a table, and served us quickly and with care, they even gave the boys colouring in crayons etc to keep them occupied, great food and service, thanks we will be back.

no atmosphere - what a shame. We visited last week. We’ve been many times before for food and drink and even small events and the bar has been gorgeous. Food was good quality and choice the chunky chips were beautiful but when we visited last week the menu was changed since the summer and boy how different. A mediocre burger with chips i could’ve got from any chippy down the beach (and not as good). The place was dead which didn’t help by the few people who were there were spread out over the vast of the different areas making it feel empty. Maybe would’ve been better if they’d just been one area to sit making it feel busier. Shame because it’s one of the most beautiful bars in the area. What’s happened to the food in a couple of months ??

I'm a frequent customer and generally the food is ok BUT seriously the chips are disgraceful, do you use left overs from lunch rime and reheat them ??. The last few batches I have are all dog ends, sharp and chewy just vile
