Sue's Cafe in Sunderland

Had been to the Sunday Market at South Shields. We decided to go again to Suzies cafe for a coffee. We found a parking space and my husband went to get them I had a hot soup (vegable) and my husband had a coffee. Both really enjoyable. While were.sitting in the car.a car pulled in a disabled bay, no disabled badge.on. They didn't pay. I'm disabled and .always show my badge. Then another car pulls.up ( we were in a norma bayl as no disable.were free when we parked) along beside us, gets out dad,ma m amdchild.They too didn't pay. When we were coming out spotted two traffic wardens - hope 2 cars get a ticket.

Best coffee shop on the sea front. Lovely friendly staff, yummy food and drinks and with a stunning view. We ho here a lot on our walk and have always had 5 star treatment. Well done Sue and staff.

Went for a pre match stroll along Roker Beach and made our way to Sue’s Cafe after recommendations by friends. We were not disappointed and had a mug of Coffee/tea and a bacon buttie which were delicious. This was our pre match meal before watching the Black Cats at 12.30 v Southampton. A splendid 5-0 win so we will revisit in the not too distant future.

Great food, excellent sized portions and superbly friendly and welcoming staff. Attended my elderly mums needs without asking. Able to take a well behaved dog on lead into restaurant. Overall a fantastically welcoming place and the food was excellent, well done more places should strive for this level.

Nice place for a coffee and a breakfast sarnie with quite the view. No need to stray far from the beach or ideally placed if on a walk.

Before I Begin Michelle IS THE BEST STAFF MEMBER THERE! the food is amazing! the prices have gone up 50p as of Ukraine v russia it will be back to normal soon.The Bacon is Amazing

Stopped in on bike ride for coffee and a cheese scone , lovely coffee cheese scone was fab along with view , cheese scone warm and with butter a £1 , coffee £1.20 , great value and no compromise on quality of on seafront check it out

Called here last Wednesday twice on the way in for ice cream wonderful, then on the way back out for cheese burger and a drink,can't fault this place at all.Very friendly and clean,prices where very good and the food we had was excellent.Will call in again next time for sure.

One way system in place, really friendly staff, quick service. We got a Sausage Curry and chips and a curry and chips. The curry is one of the best I've tasted really moreish. Love the sausage without batter as its sometimes all batter and not a very nice sausage, but there were 2 in the tub and they were really tasty. Say and ate them with the sea view, what more could you want. Can't wait to revisit.

Friendly service and great prices. A tea, a fancy coffee, scone and bacon sandwich for £6.40 and more importantly, the service was lovely and the bacon sandwich excellent. Well done good bacon with butter and brown sauce. What’s not to like. Very welcome on a cold wet day.

A good walk and sea air topped by a coffee and bacon but tie from Sue’s - friendly service, sensible menu with reasonable prices and wholesome food.

I have been a regular at Sue’s since 2006. It is by far the best cafe on the seafront in Sunderland. The menu is great and offers something for everyone. Quality is top notch too. Sue’s chicken curry is awesome and is great with rice and chips. The cafe is great to just grab a coffee and watch the world pass by. I love it and you will too.

Such a friendly welcoming little cafe. Nothing too much bother. The staff member was so patient with my kids while they were making there ice cream choices. Two 99 waffle ice cream cones, bacon/egg/sausage sandwich (which was massive) one cup of coffee and one green tea for £10.20. Where do you get all that for such a small price, especially at such gorgeous quality. Went back two days later when we went for a walk down the beach again simply because the price and service is exceptional. This time they were super busy and honestly I expected a bit of a rush service but nope, still friendly, chatty and again prices were brilliant for a bottle of water, two hotdogs and a cheeseburger. Can’t fault this little cafe. It’s definitely now a regular for us as a family

Sue's cafe is a very popular and well loved cafe on the sea front and deservedly so. Sue provides a good range of traditional tasty food, bacon and egg sarnies , baked potatoes, quiche and salad, chicken curry and rice, lovely chips, to name a few of my favourites. Sue and her staff are very friendly and helpful and they provide a fast and efficient service. Good value for money too. Sue's cafe is a great asset to the sea front.

Went for a nice walk along the sea front. Which we decided To end with a nice coffee and toasted tea cake. The quality the service and the friendly staff made it a perfect morning out.

Always good service and value for money. Good location and great sausage sandwiches , tea and this is a dog friendly cafe.

Had a lovely breakfast sandwich here this morning on our bike ride staff were lovely bacon and egg sandwich was really nice and cuppa was perfect

we regularly visit this lovely little cafe. Staff are friendly. it's all outside seating, but covered seating at the rear of the cafe. prices are excellent. £1 for a coffee £1.00 for a bovril or tea, where can you get prices like this. Sue the owner always takes time to chat. bacon sandwiches are lovely. well worth a visit.

Stopped here recently for a coffee and bacon bun. Cafe is well located next to a good sized car park overlooking sea. Staff pleasant and food good. Recommended.

29th december 2019 called here at 15.30 two staff on was told had ran out of chips , had none to cook was not offered anything else in place , was told to go to chippy down the road , which i did and i enjoyed them ,sorry sues cafe i wont be back at least the other chippy had time for me and my money , would have rated 0 but i was unable too

we are regular visitors to this cafe. The staff are always very pleasant. The food and drink is so cheap, but lovely. Bacon sandwich and a cuppa £3, plenty of seating outside and in the conservatory area at the rear of the cafe.

We’d used a few cafes along the coast around Seaburn and Roker. However, we have now found our favourite. The outside area extends from the front and to the side with plenty of seating. There is a covered area at the back of the café for rainy days. The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. There are a lot of regulars who the staff are on first name terms with. The overriding attraction of the place is the prices. Tea & coffee costs £1! Add a bacon sandwich for £2 and you have a ridiculously fresh/cheap breakfast.

The service is always really good here. The food is really nice. Great for warm, comforting food to walk along the sea front with.

Locally run, reasonable clean. Very friendly owner, overlooking the sea front, would visit again. Linto out the back, with heaters if you chose to sit out the back.

What a fantastic little find. We were traveling about around S/Shields and came along this cracking little café on the seafront at Roker park. The staff are top notch and as for the food excellent , just what you want on the seafront . It was that good we even missed breakfast at our hotel ant went there instead.

Working on the Tesco's roundabout we ordered our breakfast every Friday a few of us guys they very kindly deliver for us to save us some time. do absolutely fantastic breakfast would recommend to anybody working in the area

Called here today for lunch for my two grandsons they had sausage and chips they are big portions they couldn’t eat it all the staff were friendly and helpful and prices are reasonable

Right down by the beach serving nice ice cream and tea and snacks at very good prices. Staff were very friendly. Really good find.

Great place for a snack or meal lovely coffee and delicious cheese scones cakes looked amazing nice outside seating overlooking the sea big bonus if you see the dolphins it’s very very reasonable friendly staff definitely recommend

I often call down the sea front with my family and love to sit and watch the sea in comfort with a lovely cuppa in this cafe.

Sadly had to pop here last week, as the queues were out the door at other cafes along the road. Asked the lady for an espresso to take away, she looked at me with a blank expression. ‘We don’t do EXPRESSO’. Coffee lovers, avoid this place. Dread to think what their Cappuccino & Lattes contain.

We have become regulars at this very busy little cafe, outside seating, also at the back is undercover seating with heaters for those cold days. Food and drink is just so cheap but very nice. Chips, sandwiches ice creams and much more. Very nice to see a cafe doing brown buns for a healthier option. Bacon sandwich and a cuppa £3.00, and that's a proper mug if tea or coffee too. No wonder it's always very busy. The owner is very pleasant, always chatting to the customers.

Lovely freshly made sandwiches and cakes. Friendly quick service. Very reasonably priced Wonderful to sit outside and watch the world go by. There is a shelter with tables if the weather not so good

Had our breakfasts here on three consecutive mornings, the usual fare for an English, ok but nothing special, very pleasant staff. Nice view of the harbour and pier from three tables.

When we go down to Roker we always go to Sue's cafe. We went on sunday. My husband had a coffee and I had a cup of soup. The lady who I think is Sue is always cheerful, she come out and washed down a pole after a dog had used it. She fulled the dogs water bowl,cleared the tables down and even was sweeping out side of her cafe. Nothing seems too much trouble for her to do. Well done and keep up the good work.

Good service with good prices. Seating outside A popular cafe on the roker seafront. Parking chargeable in this area but won't be disappointed. Nice promenade to walk along and play area near by or further a field up to roker park play area.

Sues Cafe is at the nearest cafe, takeaway or pub to the smaller of the two car parks at Roker Beach. It has always been busy as we’ve passed and on a lovely warm day, 2 in a row, we decided to have a 99 ice cream each to cool us down. The staff were very friendly, there is seating outside and Roker Beach has ample bench seating all the way along the front. The ice cream was gorgeous and well priced, even our dog who is partial to good ice cream agreed. There are plenty of hot food and drink options too at very good prices and it’s popularity shows it’s doing things right.

I go here all the time when I go to the beach and I am never disappointed, the service is amazing and they always remember who you are and the conversation flows. Food is so delicious. I would certainly recommend

A great little watering hole when out walking. Value for money and a wide range of snacks to choose from. Staff always friendly and dogs welcome. My son says great chips and gravy!

We were staying in an Apartment very near to Sues Café and thought we would try a breakfast sandwich from here.

Sue's cafe is right on the sea front next to the car park. It is a simple cafe that serves tea, chips and other simple food: excellent for the sea side! They have outdoor seating or you can take away and sit on the public benches facing the sea while having a cuppa and eating their excellent chips!

whether you want an ice cream, a scone and cuppa or a meal they can oblige. There is even a lean-to at the side which is ideal if it is windy or raining and you want to keep dry. Very reasonable prices.

When we go along the beach we always call in for a coffee. Even in the winter. On Sunday we called in, and the food looked good,so next time we will try it. It's in a perfect location to watch the world go by and look out to sea. New toilet block just been opened so that's good.

Great little seafront cafe with seats outside and a fab view of the sea. After a great walk along the seafront this cafe serves great sausage or bacon sandwiches with fresh buns every time. Cakes on offer too but I can't resist a sausage sandwich every time. The coffee is always good too. Sutuated next to a car park and childrens playpark its well loved by so many in the area.

Perfect location for a little stroll and a reasonably priced snack. Staff are always friendly and the food is always lovely.

We have just stared to use this lovely little cafe at Roker sea front ,The Bacon and sausage sandwiches are very taste with plenty of filling in brown or white buns.Also nice cups of tea or coffee,also soft drinks,all at reasonable prices ,there is a varied menu available.Seat out side,There also under seating at the back ,Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead

We've been visiting Sue's Cafe for years and it's simply brilliant. The food is excellent, the staff are wonderful, and the prices are the best around.

Great place with good cafe food, I've been using this place since around 2006 and would highly recommend it! Sue and all her staff are just as lovely as the food, just wish they'd bring the chilli back.

Came here when we were down at Roker beach. This is a great sidewalk cafe with covered seating area to the back. Very cheap and nice food. Staff are friendly. There is lots on the menu to choose from with good portion size. Would come back any time when I'm down at the beach again.

Wife and I always make a beeline for this great little place, now equipped with sheltered conservatory if you chose to sit 'inside'. Great selection of food cooked while-u-wait and drinks both hot and cold. Always attentive, cheerful and ultra-friendly service with extremely reasonable prices.

We Use this little sidewalk cafe every time we go to Roker seafront. The food is really fresh and cooked while you wait. Sausage bun and coffee for two only £5. We visit it winter spring summer always good. Little tables outside. Try it
