The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Aldeburgh Suffolk Coastal East of England

We were a bit put off by the name. Aldeburgh Market conjured up an image of a cafe inside an actual market. But needs must, and they could seat us at short notice on a Saturday evening, so we went there. And it's not like a cafe in a market at all. It's a very smart modern restaurant, small but it also has tables on the pavement outside. Staff are very friendly and helpful, food is really great, what's not to like? We far preferred it to the Lighthouse and Suffolk sur Mer. So much so that we returned a few nights later

We stayed very near to here for Christmas week and shopped in the bakery several times. The sourdough bread was delicious, and the cakes were generally good, particularly the mince pies. One minor gripe was we bought four Portugese custard tarts (at £2.50 each!), most of them on the stand were perfect, and four were really really dark, not just the usual caramelised finish, but burnt pastry and filling. The lad serving us picked out all four bad ones, and I should have refused them, but didn't. I realise I should have spoken up, but did not appreciate being ripped off. It would make me think twice about returning.

Purchased creamy chicken soup to takeaway on a cold day. Soup was split, not very creamy, bland and not very nice - won’t buy again

The ice-creams looked lovely, but we had four coffee's, 3 out of 4 said they were weak and watery, there's far better coffees available in Aldeburgh!
