The ice-creams looked lovely, but we had four coffee's, 3 out of 4 said they were weak and watery, there's far better coffees available in Aldeburgh!

Got to be the best ice cream I've had in a long time and that's a lot of ice cream. Choose your flavours, then choose your favourite chocolate bar. They will chop up the chocolate and mix it in with your ice cream on a freezer plate then put it back in your cone or your tub. Wow, glad we only went for the day and not a weekend or it would have added to the weight gain. There is likely to be a queue but it is worth it.

There are lots of lovely ice cream flavours to choose from.....and it's the law to have an ice cream at the seaside, even if it's a bit pricey- £6.50 for two cones. Oh well, I did say an occasional treat!

This must be the most expensive ice-cream I have ever bought - it would be cheaper in the restaurant we'd eaten at the previous evening! The lady behind the counter was a little brusque. Not a great range of flavours to choose from.

Reminds me of my favourite ice cream store back in the states , great choice and large servings .the kids loved it

We have ice creams hear most days when staying here with our grandchildren. They offer a wide range of flavours and then mix in a full range of sweets. Excellent.

Been here a few times now. Always very clean surrounds, and pleasant staff. Not much seating if you wish to eat in, mainly due to size of shop.

Ice cream and the seaside go hand in hand and it was fun to find this place with a different take on curating a cone. You basically pick and mix flavours and textures. It was nice quality but i wonder if it will be there in a year?

Cones or tubs you choose We have had Strawberry, Vanilla and a variety of Sorberts. Various sizes, you will have to que but this gives you time to look and choose.

Worth a visit. The lady running the shop was very friendly and there is a good choice of icecreams. We would certainly drop in again.

We all fancied an ice cream after a day on the beach and stumbled upon this little ice cream parlour. The cold plate is a fun little extra and the kids enjoyed picking their favourite chocolate bar to get mashed into their delicious ice cream flavours. Not too sure about my son’s choice of strawberry with crushed crunchie but he seemed to enjoy it

We visited the ice creamery on 3 occasions in a week with our grandchildren. They absolutely love this unique experience. Highly recommended.

Aldeburgh is quite posh but there’s a pretentious undercurrent that sneaks into stuff. The ice cream here is superb and an easy five stars. We bought half a dozen cones of every flavour (some had sold out by the time we got there but still wide selection) and no losers. Turkish delight my fav but excellent from vanilla to pineapple. Love the vibe and they even do doggie ice cream. My one snag is as we were leaving an elderly couple wandered in to buy two cones. Immediately they were asked to leave as they had stopped serving five on the dot. I looked at my watch...exactly 5pm. Yes I know there’s rules and no one likes last second walk ins but two cones for a cash sale? Surely that’s a few seconds of work for two very happy holiday makers leaving with a great impression. You’re a shop after all

Probably the best ice cream I’ve had outside of Southend (can’t beat my beloved Rossi’s). But this was pretty close. Good choice of flavours, we had vanilla, salted caramel and my favourite the lemon and ginger. It wasn’t cheap £3 for a single cone but it was truly delicious. Service with a smile too

Lovely icecream BUT very expensive at £2.50 a small scoop and not even in a cornet! You were left with the feeling of being ripped off, which was a shame

Lovely ice- cream. Super friendly girl serving a little boy, she was a credit to the shop. Great ice-cream mixed with your choice of choc bars.

Freshly made long list of delicious ice creams and sorbets, either in cones or pots. If liked, you can have frozen chopped sweets or choc bars, plus sprinkles. Excellent on their own. I recommend the lemon and ginger, chocolate, salted caramel and passionfruit sorbet. Would go every day if I had the chance.

You won't be disappointed by the selection of flavours at this lovely little ice cream parlour tucked just off the high street and only a stone's through from the beach. Very friendly girl behind the counter. Recommend honeycomb ice cream and a return visit for the mango sorbet!

The thought of making ice lollies for the small furry ones was a brilliant idea especially on such a hot bank holiday. The human I've cream was just as yummy x

Would recommend their products. Creamy texture ice cream and choice of stir-ins. Think about it before your turn. Many customers hold up the line trying to decide. Just saying...Can be busy.

Our friends two boys love coming I here when we are in Aldeburgh. They choose a nice base icecream but then add some wierd and wonderful add ins. Its a great idea and fun for the kids too.

All icecream is gluten free here. For genuine coeliacs they will open a new tub to avoid contamination! Superb service. Well done!

Fuimos allí ayer por la tarde y tenía dos ollas de tamaño mediano con el chocolate mezclado. Sabía muy bonita pero por dos bolas de helado de chocolate y la mitad de un bar por £5. 50 era un poco caro. Yo esperaba que ser más como un refresco para el precio e. g crema, sprinklers, etc. No estoy seguro de si vamos a ir de nuevo, aunque el concepto de chocolate mezclada con helado es genial.

Hay un precioso hablador la joven que trabaja aquí y charlas a los niños sobre lo que han venido haciendo en vacaciones mientras ella está aplastando su chocolate elegido en helados! Ñam ñam!

Muy bien helado y gente muy amable. Cortaron barras de chocolate en el helado para usted si quiere. Sin embargo, espera a ser apartado 5 libras por cabeza si toma a sus hijos en el a menos que son muy disciplinado con ellos!

My children loved this place. You choose your ice cream flavours (and the ice cream is very good quality). Then you can choose a chocolate bar which they bash into small pieces and mix with the ice-cream. The only thing that could have been improved was the menu boards as they were a little unclear. We only realised about the bashed up chocolate bars when we got to the head of the queue.

What a great place & what lovely service. Went with a friend and three children who happily chatted to the owner whilst she mixed the various ice creams with different chocolate goodies and sauces. My daughter had salted caramel & honeycomb with a curlywurly & I had lemon & lime ice cream with crushed sherbet lemons. Wow!

We visited Aldeburgh on a bright sunny October Monday we had a chocolate milkshake and sat by the sea. It was excellent. The young lady serving us was very pleasant and persuaded us to have extra chocolate in our drinks and I must say it was so yummy!

The children always want to go to this ice creamery as they always have such fun choosing the sprinkles (branded sweets or chocolates) and sauces to go on their ice cream. It is, however, very expensive.

Total indulgence trip here. 34 flavours of gorgeous ice cream to sample - how to choose?! You may have to queue as this is very popular, and also has a few tables if you want to have coffee or tea etc which can slow down the ice cream only sales at the counter , but it is worth the wait. Choice of waffle cones and tubs too.Go on, you know you want to!

The staff were great and a very good selection of ice cream and sorbet.The place was busy, which is always a good sign!

We expected more from our visit.The ice cream was expensive and we were both were disappointed with the flavour.We both opted for vanilla and thought that it lacked depth of flavour.There were lots of options available to add to the ice cream eg fresh raspberries,sauces,chocolate bars etc but we just wanted a quality ice cream without the add ons.Disappointing.

My family and I went here while on holiday in a village near Aldburugh. We had visited the year before and thoroughly enjoyed their ice cream. This time the ice cream was still absolutely delicious but the service wasn't great it was slow and I feel the ice cream was overpriced (£3.50 for one scoop in a cone.)

The ice cream here was just wonderful but what impressed us the most were the charming young staff who served us. They were welcoming, friendly, helpful and polite. Oh that every shop had staff like these people. A great little place.

I visit this ice cream shop every time I visit Aldeburgh and every time I visit, there seems to be a new flavour! There really is something for everyone and this fabulous little ice cream parlour, offers hot drinks as well as cold. I still can't decide on my favourite ice cream flavour though!All the ice cream is made locally and has a variety of cones to select from. After you choose your cone and ice cream, you have a lovely selection of toppings to put on. Highly recommened by me!

When we visited the staff were very friendly, particularly the lady mixing the ice cream on the frozen top. She appeared interested in everyone passing through. Yes it is more expensive than other ice cream places, and you do not get a really generous scoop, but it is a fun thing to do and my lemon and ginger ice cream was delicious with some dark bournville chocolate mixed in. A lovely treat.

This place was our favourite shop of the holiday. We can't believe we had missed it for the last three years! Maybe because it is only open seasonally. So many people whinging about the price. Fine - go up the road to Ive's. But if you want to pay 50p more to support local produce and to have great staff experience, a show of smashing sweets or fruit on a frozen plate into high quality local ice cream, sorbet or frozen yoghurt and the best coffee you can get in Aldeburgh (again local - the Suffolk Coffee Company) then come here. We were disappointed not to try the waffles which looked fab. If you can't make up your mind which combo you want the staff will happily help you with suggestions. Would love to see this place go from strength to strength as they really care and work hard at making the trip to the Ice Creamery memorable. Just try to go early in the day as the queues go round the corner later in the day!

I don't know if we were overcharged but a single scoop ice cream in a waffle cone and a small milkshake cost us £8 today. Whilst the ice cream is perfectly nice there was nothing special about it and given the price paid we will not be going back. A complete rip-off!

So expensive but delicious. Only go there when visitors insist and they pay! Ice creams to die for and wonderful on a hot day lovely staff. Very busy on sunny days.

We were looking forward to a trip to the IceCreamery based on previous reviews. I notice there haven't been many recent reviews, and maybe something has changed in terms of supplier or ownership, as what we experienced was very poor indeed.For a start we were surprised to see there were only about 8 flavours available, none of which were particularly inspiring. What's happened to the 30+??? I had to ask whether they could replace the empty chocolate tub - cue muttering about 'man hasn't delivered yet'. The young woman serving was extremely personable and mashed in a pack of chocolate buttons to my son's ice cream. But I was amazed when this single scoop plus another plain single scoop and one double scoop cone came to almost £10!!!! This is miles off the prices charged in the very best gelaterias in Rome, and for nothing special at all.A massive rip off. Simply mashing in a pack of sweets to a scoop of mediocre ice cream does not a sensation make. Best avoided.

Although we were visiting in February, this creamery was open with over 40 different flavours of ice creams and sorbets. Very hard to choose, will have to visit again.

Fantastic choice of flavours . Always fun standing in queue with adults and children alike changing their minds every two minutes about the flavour they want . Great ice cream .

Pasamos una tarde con la Familia en una zona típica inglesa. A pesar del frío el helado sigue siendo una tentación. Es por ellos que The IceCreamery es una buena opción para pasar la tarde. Una variada cartelera de sabores con precios accesibles. Recomendable si pensas viajar a la Costa Oeste inglesa.

A range of loads of flavours, you ask for what you fancy, they whip it all together and you walk out with a yummy tub of scrumminess! Love it!

I think the man said 37 different flavours. It was 30 something anyway! Delicious ice cream and wish I could try out more flavours.

What a selection, and what a variety of flavours. We all enjoyed our particular choices. Absolutely delicious.

Now when I visited a similar establishment in London I thought it was one of a kind, the kind of shop only found in London! BUT NO I was elated to find that this ice cream shop did not just serve ice cream my friend oh no! But they tailored the ice cream to suit your own taste!! Any chocolate you could want from milky bar to munchies, you can crush them up and add them to your ice cream. Absolutely tip top! If you don't go you're missing out big time! Worth the price and the people in there are awesome!

Oh my god, this place should be an absolute gold mine, but the way it's handled is terrible. First of all, it's hardly ever open. When the sign on the door says something like 11-5, don't be expecting those hours. The day we went it opened at 3 !!The two staff seemed to be very disinterested and took just forever to serve. I had a salted caramel ice cream, which may as well be called salt ice cream, we also went for a raspberry sorbet (strawberry ice cream wasn't available) and it was just so sweet as to be inedible.Such a shame the IceCreamery hasn't got itself in to gear, it should be doing a roaring trade.

Took daughter here whilst visiting seafront. Delicious ice cream , served by two charming young men who really made my little girl's day helping her choose.

A visit to Aldeburgh wouldnt be the same without some yummy ice cream or sorbet and this is the place to get them. A wide selection of flavours are available along with a selection of cones/wafers/toppings. A must for all the family.

Fancied an ice cream and as there was no queue took the opportunity to pop in. The choice of flavours were the normal offering. The ice cream was nothing out of the ordinary, but the prices were exorbitant.

We popped in here for a couple of late ice creams as it was advertising, on a Monday, that they didn't close until six. That was great. Apparently they only open during the season and usually until eight. The charming young man serving us was friendly and efficient. The ice cream was tasty - but I thought rather pricy at £3 a scoop. Perhaps if we had gone for the offer of some free mix in's in would have been better value - you can pick from a huge range of additional items to mix in to the ice cream... but I don't like cold chocolate or bits in or on my ice cream so we didn't bother. I went to get the car and my friend stayed to wait for me, whilst waiting she noticed they had Turkish delight and asked if she could buy one - he gave her the half bar and sold her another - so a good deal in the end.

This is a great place to experience your favourite flavour ice cream with an added treat - your favourite sweet or chocolate. You know how we love a 99 with a chocolate flake, well here they crunch a bounty bar, Ferraro Roche,fudge bar etc and you get to taste this through your ice-cream! We enjoyed it so much we went back again the next day.

We stopped here on a day trip in the area and fancied an ice cream.I've been places where they mix sweets etc with the ice cream, but never with proper branded sweets and chocolate bars etc.The ice cream alone was tasty, but being able to mix a honeycombe ice cream with twix was excellent.Would recommend.

You have to visit here when in Aldeburgh they have a wonderful selection of ice cream every flavour imaginable give your self time to go through them all they also do nice coffee

On the way into the town this was spotted by the eagle eyed little people in the back. Little did they know that the big kid in the front has pre-surveyed it and was a key reason for the visit. After a distinctly average Fish & Chips at the other end of the town (see my other review) this Ice Creamery was an uplifting experience at the end of the day. Despite it being closing time we were welcomed in and the door kept open for more customers. The trick here is the Ice Cream is mixed with additional sweet additions like chocolate, biscuits etc. Choose your portion, your flavour and your added ingredient. Fun if not speedy, the service was great and the ice cream tasted brilliant. Not the cheapest ice cream you will eat but innovative and friendly and you will have a longer lasting experience while you consider what to order, see it prepared and finally taste it.

The Icecreamery in Aldeburgh has to be the trendiest ice cream shop for miles. It has a frozen slab where an array of the most amazing combinations can be concocted. I look forward to returning there again and again to be greeted by the wonderful enthusiastic staff.

You think that's harsh do you? Look, this is Aldeburgh. This is ice cream. We are talking Olympic standards here. We may be wage slave accountants 46 weeks a year, but on our holidays we are modern day libertines when it comes to ice cream.I like a new concept me. But only for important things. You know - chemotherapy drugs and such like. But for ice cream? Please. So when I have to have "the concept" explained in an ice cream shop then my eyebrows cannot get further off my bonce. So you choose an ice cream. Some polite gap year kid puts it on the cold plate and asks more questions than an inquisitive three year old at a peppa pig convention. Want "mix-ins"? Want syrup? Want sprinkles?want it mushy or hard? Tub, waffle, plain cone? Jeepers.Right. Let's cut to the chase. No pistachio ice cream. Vanilla didn't have speckle bits in. Also they refused to understand what "bats blood" is.5 kids, 2 adults. 24 snooters. Ouch.Btw everyone else liked it. Sorry for ruining your average.

Excellent ice cream and a wonderful choice of flavours and cones. Would recommend the morello cherry and salted caramel. A little expensive but worth it. Staff were really friendly and shop was very clean. Will definitely go again!

Lovely ice cream. They use a freezer plate to mix all manner of confectionary into the ice cream. Friendly owners. A few chairs to sit in of you like.

On a cold day the children wanted ice cream. It was a good choice and they loved the cones with sprinkles. Despite the cold all of us managed to finish the ice cream. Must come back on a warm day!

A great ice cream shop, so good it is hard to get in to and quite often queues out the door to the footpath.

And this place is the place to come! Such nice friendly staff! Many flavours to choose from, sometimes a bit of a que but still no touch on how amazing the ice cream is!
