Disappointed! Phoned and booked in advance, giving dietary requirements as we had one in party allergic to cheese and one who did not like ham or pickle. We were told this would not be a problem. We arrived to soggy mozzarella sandwiches and brioche bun and ham and pickle sandwiches and brioche bun. We advised that we had said no cheese or ham upon booking and were offered fish finger sandwiches! We have been to many afternoon tea and usually you get a lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes, this was disappointing. Cakes were a fruit scone, we asked if we could swap one for a plain scone to be told no they did not have them, then you get one cup cake each, that's it, not much of a selection. One cup of coffee, we were not offered a refill. £19.95 per couple Food was nicely presented but no atmosphere whatsoever in restaurant. All in all 4 of us were disappointed and will not return All in all

5 item breakfast. If you are going to compete with the other cafes in Chester-le-Street you have to been good. There are a number to chose from and ones that have been established for decades. Cafe 91 has been going for a few years and I have visited about 2-3 times. I ordered a 5 item breakfast for £4.75 (which includes tea or coffee) When they say 5 item breakfast they literally mean that. One rasher of bacon and one small chipolata sausage. One slice of toast. There is an option for a bigger breakfast I would have chosen had I known. The coffee was a filter coffee although it wasn't made via a filter machine. So overall the food wasn't good and service decidedly average.

Ole debe hacerlo mejor si van a sobrevivir.

Less than after a year of opening this place is in need of a refurbishment, the toilets have been stinky and out of date since day one, I don’t know if their kitchen or bar staff have their own toilet but if they’re using these toilets then don’t ever eat here. The Garden is a mess, weeds everywhere, a wasps nest that has been reported several times but is still there, stink coming from the toilets, old splintered furniture. It’s such a shame as it’s in a prime spot overlooking the water gardens and could be so much better and at £3:80 a pint cheapest then I expect better. They do have free WiFi, free jukebox and show sports on small televisions, also pool and darts but if people are playing pool and darts then you can’t watch TV. Sadly I believe this pub won’t be around much longer and is a great opportunity missed once again.

This a 'take away' service next to the bigger Brew House Cafe at Kenwood , which is a wonderful setting. There is little choice but that is fine as it's a very small place. Today we chose the cream tea - a scone with clotted cream and jam . This was stale . The coffee had no taste . So very disappointing. I'd advise asking if the scones are freshly made before buying.

Didn't taste nice, chips seemed like they had been on the side and just warmed up, didn't taste fresh, fish was bland. part of my order was missed off and although they delivered it to me it didn't make it up for the food quality and it was too expensive for what I ordered.

I mean it was fine, but £7.20 for a smoothie, really? It's a lot cheaper for that in most cafés or restaurants when you are benefiting from heating and paying for table service.

Not very nice, tuna sandwich was disgusting, tuna just slapped on the bread and wasn’t very appetising. Waiting time was around 20 mins and we were served this. Would not recommend. There was a private order going on so i understand the chef was busy.

I went to McDonald’s hoping for a great meal and I ordered a bacon and sausage sandwich. I got my sandwich out in the car and looked inside my sandwich and there was no sausage! My dad also had no brown sauce! I am disgusted!

Poor customer service. Very slow and lazy. Asked staff for allergy guidelines as I have limitations as to what I can and can not consume to be told we are busy preparing. Disgusting

First review of this cafe, located within the range at Eccles. Our Christmas shopping so popped into the range to try the cafe, the food is shocking, bland and undercooked (jacket potato) staff not the best. Massively avoid and go McDonald’s or subway instead (both available on the same retail park)

Having read the previous excellent good reviews it appears we must have called on an off day. Having ordered their roasted tomato soup topped with pesto, when it arrived it was as though the kitchen had opened a tin of tomatoes and processed through a blender. Very disappointing!

Beautiful building in need of some loving care. Two water wheels and very small outside area. Very restricted menu for lunch and beers/lagers only in bottles. Service only average. Quiet little atmosphere. Disappointed.

Went in for brunch, Cornish style pastry, cappuccino and dutch apple pies, Not asked if we wanted chocolate on coffee, given apple strudle instead of dutch apple pies, Cornish style pasty was more lumps of potato than meat or other veg and dutch apple pie was half inch thick with pastry Don't mind paying for good food but thsiswas a waste
