The best restaurants serving Mediterranean food in Chelmsford East of England

First time at Taz and it was lovely, the manager and staff were very friendly and welcoming, just attentive enough to make sure you had enough drinks and on hand if you needed anything, the food was delicious. We had the table for a birthday and we didn’t feel rushed to leave, and the staff brought up the dessert with a candle and stopped to join us embarrassing my friend with the happy birthday song :) Decor is lovely and warm, tables set far enough apart that you didn’t feel on top on one another. Would definitely eat here again, felt very comfortable and like we mattered as customers.

Great Turkish restaurant with very tasty food and excellent service.

I was so disappointed with this restaurant. When I ordered I was told it would arrive in 30 minutes. I waited 1hr 10mins for the delivery and when it arrived it was stone cold. I called the restaurant who advised to give it back to the driver and they would send another ASAP. She apologised and said she would send some extra bits to compensate. When the second order arrived the only compensation I received was a dip!!! I ordered a lamb Shish and a portion of hummus (only 2 pieces of bread) came for the whole order. It was also warm (not hot) the lady on the phone couldn’t have been less interested. This just isn’t normal service from this restaurant but it has put me off from ordering again

Surprised and disappointed by yesterday evening's experience. My wife and I have eaten here on probably half a dozen occasions previously, have enjoyed the experience, and have recommended the restaurant to friends and acquaintances. Yesterday evening however, did not start well, with the disclosure of many non-available menu items, including the preferences of a number of our party of nine. Service was slow during the meal and became slower, ultimately becoming inattentive in the extreme, some of our number drawing the conclusion that we had been forgotten altogether. Added to the menu disappointment and poor service, there were mistakes in the bill. Our party eats out regularly and EGO had been suggested as a venue to be included on our list of good places to eat, but I somehow doubt that there will be many votes in favour of including it now.

A group of us arrived unexpected at lunchtime while spending a day walking cricket at the county ground. We got a friendly greeting and were well looked after by staff with quick and friendly service and everyone enjoyed their food. 7/10

Great food, would recommend to anyone.

Nice range of beers, and staff ok. But you do feel like you're intruding the locals time.
