The Blaze Restaurant & Bar in Chelmsford

Food was bang average, not awful but not great. For the price was expecting something a bit tastier - was 22 quid for a lamb kebab main! Was also pretty dead inside on a Saturday night too. Can't imagine we'll be returning.

Good place to sit and eat kebabs. The set lunch menu seems value for money.

This place has been around for some time now. I keep saying we must go in but never getting there. I'm so glad we did! There was a nice chilled but very nice atmosphere, the staff were top notch, and the food was amazing. I can't recommend Blaze enough! Just go see for yourself!

Absolutely delightful lunch experience! Incredible value for the 2-course lunch menu at just £13.90. The Sucuk, Patlican Soslu, Sigara Boregi, and Hellim starters were an absolute treat. The Lamb Shish Kebab was perfectly succulent, and the Adana Kofte was also great. Already planning my next visit for the Lamb Beyti. For larger groups, the Blaze Special and Blaze Family Special are tempting with their lamb chops included which have been recommended to try. Don't miss the Turkish tea and homemade Baklava, plus the adorable ice cream characters for the little ones. Efes on draft sealed the deal. A classic touch of Turkish hospitality and decent Turkish music made the experience even more memorable. Already looking forward to the next visit!

A walk in for 2 and was seated straight away...Absolutely brilliant, amazing service and food was out of this world. Will definitely be coming back, and i can't wait if I'm honest. Thank you guys, keep up the good work

If you like really really salty food eat here. They presented my dish, and I refused it (first time ever in 100s... I used to travel internationally so maybe even a 1000 restaurants). To their credit they got me something else to be cooked without chef adding salt. That turned up...very salty (not as bad as dish 1) but I didn't eat that either. My partner has already eaten, so we were out of synch. Not a very romantic evening TBH and not cheap. Yes they charged me...and I understand they have to make their money. But waaay too much salt for me. Truly ruined, what looked fantastic food.

Regularly order from here, food is amazing, portions are big so we always have more for lunch the next day! Brilliant!

Waitress wasn’t very pleasant- huffed when we asked for more time to choose food. Wiped table with serviette then wiped other placing with same one- still covered in red sauce. Had to ask for it to be cleaned properly so didn’t get it on clothes. Didn’t dry it Starter floating in oil - fish casserole and not much fish main (chicken and mushroom sauté) tasted like a tin of tomatoes. Hollumi was lovey tho and Sea Bream was too

Food okay, not as good as last time. Service absolutely terrible. We have had a waiter and possible the worst service we have ever received. Put us off to go back. Gona have to try the other Turkish restaurants in town

We recently had a birthday meal for 10 people. Food is absolutely amazing and has huge portions ! Staff were a bit rushed off their feet, so at times we were left waiting for a while for drinks, etc . And it was a bit noisy, we couldn't hear each other too well while chatting . But other than that the restaurant was fab , they made a huge effort singing happy birthday to my daughter , and bought her out a cake . They are a fantastic restaurant and I do highly recommend them :)

Nice place, we were overshadowed by a large party so service to our table wasa little lacking. Nice food, nothing special.

Called in on for a midweek lunch. Decor is very nice, had the lunchtime set menu which represented good value for 2 courses @ £13.80. I had the spicy sausage to start followed by the chicken beyti which was accompanied with rice and salad. Meal was very good with my only gripe being the chicken was a little dry. Would definitely return and will remain a good lunchtime option.

Had our work's Christmas dinner here. 17 of us altogether. Superb food and excellent service from helpful and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend a visit.

£8.83 for two cans of Diet Coke? Regardless of food quality, ambience, etc I won't be returning

Service was bad. Our waiter was extremely rude. three of our party of twelve where late. I explained they where stuck in traffic and where coming, (just running late) but that wasn't good enough, The guests that where there ordered food, as we felt pressured to hurry. Staff also broke up our table as they where concerned they would miss out on other custom. (clearly didn't believe the other guest where about to arrive) we had paid £10 a head deposit for the table. Food was okay nothing amazing, just another standard Turkish and the alcohol was watered down. Wouldn't bother going back.

Been there few times, usual turkish food but tonight i was very disappointed with our food, Ordered a mix platter but some of the meat stank very bad, it was OFF but they still served it to us, called the waiter told him to take off my plate as the meat was stinking, none of the waiters or the manager didnt even apologise, Will never go back,

We pre-booked weeks ago and had been in contact with them on day of booking as well but they said it wasn't them we had made booking with or contacted on the day so bit of confusion there as someone in there restaurant had been emailing me but it all went great in the end

Food is good, but unfortunately really bad service! Waiter who served me was non-communicative and really rude. Then the manager came and he shouted at me in front of my children for making a complaint about the waiter!! Horrible experience!! Can't believe this happened in this country!!!

The lamb shish was fine, chicken wings great but seafood casserole very little taste. Starters were good, wine (pinot grigio) pretty dire for £19.99 - husband should have tried it instead of saying just pour it. Overall not too impressed but maybe a la carte is better, we had the fixed lunch menu.

Amazing food! Me and my partner shared the plaza special and thoroughly enjoyed it. Could not pick out our favourite... possibly the wings but it was all so good! Really friendly staff, welcoming and attentive.

We have been there for evening meals, and it was great. However, this time we went for the lunch time set menu. What the don't tell you is its a cheaper price, as for some dishes the portions are half the size. My son had lamb shish and just got 3 or 4 chunks of lamb. £12.95 for 2 courses. With 4 of us, including 3 soft drinks and 1 lager shandy, the bill came to £74 odd which included a £6.70 odd service charge. So would definitely not recommend the lunch time deal, small portions and pricy drinks, pricy lunch.

Have been to Blaze a few times now and each time it gets better. The staff are very attentive and the food is amazing.

Delicious food, amazing staff, beautiful interior! The lunch deal is a bargain: £12 for one starter and one main (choose from a list), plus bread, olives and two dips. Free Turkish delight when the bill comes too! They're also great with children, and there's a short children's menu.

First time experience for me at this Turkish restaurant based in Chelmsford. Service was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. Clean and tidy throughout including restrooms. Would definitely go back again and try other food from the menu.

Food was ok but service was bad. Booked ahead and upon arrive a lady asked how many there was I said five but two aren’t here yet. Before she could do anything else another lady came over and completely undermined her and took over. Then a man came over to ask if we had a booking. We were then offered two different tables but two people at the same time. After being seated we were then pretty much left alone. If we needed a drink or food we had to call a member of staff over. Didn’t offer drinks when the rest of the party arrived. We had to ask if we could order food. No one asked if the food was ok. Probably wouldn’t return

Service here is outstanding. The first time we were here we thoroughly enjoyed it and somehow this place exceeded our expectations on the second visit (last minute plan) for a valentine’s day lunch. Staff are super friendly and accommodating. The place was all decorated for valentine’s and the table setting had tiny rose petals which was a lovely touch to our experience. Music was just right not too loud not too slow and joyful/groovy. We were served fresh & warm turkish bread with sauces and olives immediately. It was delicious. Our starters arrived quickly after and so did the main course. Generous portions for the price and taste absolutely delightful. They also offer a range of wines to choose from. To add to our experience they even offered us tequila rose at the end of our meal. We had a wonderful time I can’t wait to go again. 5 stars are not enough for this place 💖

Arrived here by accident as we were supposed to go Thai but entered this restaurant by mistake. It turned out to be a lucky mistake as we enjoyed a hearty Turkish meal in pleasant surroundings and really nice staff.

Over priced Chicken served raw. Fortunately we have better Turkish Restaurants in Chelmsford. I won't be back

The food is super delicious, the staff are super friendly and the price is definitely worth the service, quality and taste. I travelled from North London to The Blaze and would happily do it again, definitely recommend it to anyone after great food and good atmosphere.

We went to Blaze for a dinner with our friends. From Service to portion size and food quality to attentive waiters I can not fault Blaze. It was awesome food and we had a great time. We will definitely return!

Food missing. Lots of a £140 order. Refuse to deliver it once we’d informed them. Terrible service.

Awful. Food didn’t turn up. Then when I called to explain what was missing there was no ‘sorry’ just argument on what was actually missing. £140 and 30% of the stuff if missing… and it’s the customers fault?

First time we had been here. Didn't even know it was there. We had the lunch time special. It's was so nice. Staff very attentive, friendly and helpful but not over bearing. We will definitely be back.

I saw people having alcohol and bursting poisonous polluting firecrackers here recently that sounded awful like shotguns, burnt fingers of lite child in front of my eyes and traumatised victims of various species and why would they and their horrible customers care they eat animals and their hearts are stones and impervious to empathy otherwise who otherwise who the right mind or senses enjoys this all in 2021?

This new find is a treat. Can't fault the excellent food and really attentive service. Large portions...none of us could finish our meals. The staff happily provided takeaway containers and paper carrier bags (a new concept to us oldies, but less food waste for the restaurant). A bit pricey than some, but this is truly reflected in the quality of the food and generous portions. Another visit a must.
