We really enjoyed this restaurant, food was amazing so much variety to cater for everyone, service was really friendly and the waitresses really took care of us, made my sons 16th alot of fun too. Cleanliness and hygiene 5*, ambient was lively, the only minor negative is how warm the restaurant can get from the stone baked oven, don't dress to warm, it will make you uncomfortable. Would 100% return. Everything else was perfect!

Had a really lovely meal last night to belatedly celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The food was amazing and so flavoursome. And such big portions! The staff were very friendly too. It was a great night, we'll definitely return!

Great menu choices and large portions. Lamb shank (Kleftiko) was as good as it gets and service was good. Friend would also recommend the liver starter. Well worth a short walk from the town centre.

One of the best Turkish restaurant in the Chelmsford i have been. They have started Italian pizza that is one of the best pizza i have eaten. I surely recommend you people to go eat in and do delivery as well. The atmosphere is very good and the staff is very friendly. Mr Murat is one the best person in the Staff.

Went for the first time last night. The restaurant is lovely, staff are also great. The food was ok, we didn't get everything we ordered and although we reminded the person bringing our food it never came. Cocktails are delicious and it was busy with a lovely vibe.

Midweek birthday meal with family. Lovely food and attentive service. Reasonably priced. The baklava was incredible! Singing happy birthday was a nice touch :)

From one of the best in Town to worst in no time after new Management/Owner in action. Visited many Turkish kitchens around and "Original" Mosaic was place to go. But.. New staff has 0 customer service experience with comments like "Why you not eating bread" it is up to us when we gonna eat. 3 tables to serve, waiting for food 50 minutes, waitress coming every 2 minutes telling food will be served in 2 minutes, even children started questioning why they checking on us so often. Waitress taking plates off the table "Why you didn't finished ketchup" I don't know, my son just took as much as he needed. FOOD: My mix grill came cold, children chicken shish came with chips when asked with rice. Wife ordered Lamb shish, came half lamb, half chicken. Waitress seen no problem and said it is only few £ differences in price. But it is not about £ it is about you ordered Lamb and got half dry chicken. Never seen such a wrong in one simple order. And there was no discount on bill for missing lamb whatsoever. To the new owner: If no action taken you will lose customer base, as people expects same or better than Original Mosaic. Be honest with customers. To the Waitress: If food ain't coming on the table in 2 minutes don't say it. Better under promise and over deliver. Food waiting time 30 minutes, but coming in 15. Boom.. everyone happy. Don't check on the customers so often, especially when they don't have food on the table. One time is enough, do not stand and watch next to the table, leave some space. Don't comment on why customer didn't finished bowl of ketchup (maybe 200g is way tooo much, try 50g) or why they didn't started eating bread. Not sure we will go there again.

Okay, where to start. Heard good things about the food and there was a voucher on Groupon for 2 courses for 2 people for around £40 - thought great. Checked with the restaurant when I could use it - (Sun- Thurs 12pm-9pm) excellent. Booked for Thursday evening. Mentioned again we had the voucher as I know sometimes this means a limited menu (even though there was no mention of this on the deal, it just said 'a la carte' menu). Our menus were then swapped to the same menus but with numerous items crossed out. Okay, no problem. Chose our food. Starters came, nice enough. Outside they were also advertising buy 1st drink get second half price on a Thursday, happy days, so ordered 2 drinks each. After starters were cleared (we took some time with them) about 45 minutes went past, still no mains - it was a very hot day and no air con so we were starting to get restless at this point and asked if we could take our mains away instead - they bagged/boxed them up for us no problem. It's worth mentioning the restaurant was very quiet at this point too so not sure why there was such a delay but wasn't too fussed at that point. Bill came - this is where the issues came, it was a full bill - I mentioned again I had a voucher. Okay took some off - still a starter on there - not sure why as we only order 2 as per the deal - was advised that starter was actually for 2 people - no one told us this and it did not mention it anywhere - apparently this was our issue. I advised we would not have ordered another if we had known as we didn't eat it all anyway. All drinks were also full price - I mentioned about the deal (which I had also mentioned at the start of our meal and was advised it was running as advertised) and the other waiter/supervisor (who knows), advised we couldn't have that deal in conjunction with our Groupon offer. Again no mention of this anywhere and we were told otherwise but again apparently that was our issue, okay no problem. Mentioned about the starter issue not being our fault and was told 'we will sort this for you'. Got given a bill with a starter still on it - was told again , could only deduct one off it. At this point I was very embarrassed with all the commotion and just wanted to leave so I paid the bill which was £58.05. It was not until I realised after that the 2 drinks we ordered each would have come to £30 (full price) and the one starter I had to pay for was (£8.75) and we also had a side of chips for £3.25. That was all that was left after the deal. That comes to £42 as per their menus on their website. So not only did we have a very poor experience, and not able to finish our meal inside, I have also been overcharged £16.05, on top of being overcharged for starters and drinks even though we weren't told otherwise. The waitress was nice and even admitted it was her error but apparently that means nothing to this business. In conclusion, what should have been a 'discounted' meal actually ended up costing us £100 and to add insult to injury they already offer 25% off food on Thursdays so we would have been better off not having the voucher at all and using the advertised promotions instead. It was a present for my partner which turned very sour and put us out of pocket. I want to warn anyone else to not buy the Groupon deal and to give the restaurant the opportunity to respond as to why they have stolen an extra £16 from me. It's a shame as to be honest the food wasn't actually bad but the rest of it is not worth it at all.

EXCELLENT Food ! Everything fresh and delicious

Food was amazing, the venue makes you feel like your abroad in a Mediterranean restaurant but for us the atmosphere wasn't there. Only 3 tables at 7.30 on a Friday night, the music was being played on Spotify and kept having adverts mid way through or where kept being skipped so with a quite restaurant was so noticeable. Where it was so dead the staff were lovely but kept coming over or hovering near by so hard to have a conversation. Such a shame as a lovely place and food and seen great reviews but the atmosphere killed it for us and where wasn't busy we was finished within an hour.

Food and service are amazing. Staff is smiling all the time. I don’t even talk about the music and the design of the place.

The best turkish restaurant in Chelmsford

We visited midweek evening for my daughter's graduation dinner. The restaurant is under new ownership. Orla and the team were most helpful and accommodating of 24 of us. The food was good, staff were friendly and we had an enjoyable evening.

No alcohol licence at the moment, but I saw someone bringing their own. It's probably only temporary as we had wine and beer on a previous visit.

We visited with a Groupon Voucher which meant that we had a somewhat restricted c Menu with rather a lot of very similar options! The service was somewhat inattentive but the food was really nice - freshly cooked and certainly plentiful! A very nice and unexpected touch was the complimentary flatbreads and sauces. We shall give it a go again.

Placed my order at 17:53, by 19:00 it still hadn't arrived. Called the restaurant at 19:00 to be told it would be "5 or 10 minutes"..by 19:40 it still hadn't arrived. I called the restaurant again to be told the driver was "2 minutes away" so I stayed on the call and the driver didn't show up. I told the restaurant waiting 2 hours for a delivery wasn't acceptable, to be accused of lieing...then to be shouted at by the restaurant, and told that the driver will be turning around, then they hung up

The order was late due to a technical problem, however the staff at Mosaic were very helpful in resolving the issue and delivered the food as soon as possible (with a complimentary pudding). The meal itself was very nice and both my wife and I enjoyed it a lot.

Order turned up 30 minutes late and cold . Ordered 2 mixed grill but only had one piece of chicken and one piece of lamb inside each box . Looks like a children’s happy meal

Lunched here today. Very friendly service and super tasty food. There was a problem with their drinks licence so it was soft drinks only, but prices here were very steep (£3.75 for a bottle of diet Coke). Lovely rice and salads accompanied the meals. Couldn't fit in a dessert. Will be back, when hopefully their drinks licence is sorted.

My son celebrated his 18th birthday there with 6 of his friends. I spoke with Ezel (manager) [apology if I misspelled the name] about the location of the tables, brought decorations and Ezel made the magic happen!!! Excel and his team were great!! They went above and beyond to take care of dinner/celebration!!! I cannot thank them enough!!! The was fantastic as usual! My son and all his guests were amazed!! Thank you guys for everything!!!

I tried to order twice yesterday using your app, mosaic,Chelmsford, £74.20. On both occasions my payment was rejected stating there was an error. I contacted the Restuarant by phone twice and no order had been received, they also stated that your system was not working correctly at the Restuarant. I then paid them over the phone the £74.20 And the food was delivered a short time later. I find this morning that I have now been charged £74.20 by both Restuarant and Just Eat. This was our first time eating here and we really couldn’t fault it! The food was to die for and definitely worth the money! But the girl that served us was what made our night the best ! She was so helpful attentive and friendly (blonde haired girl from Basildon ) we would return in a heartbeat !

Ordered a takeaway tonight and one main meal was missing, called and spoke to a man called Aaron who told us it would be with us in 20 minutes. Called again to see where it was as it hadn’t arrived to be told it wasn’t coming as we had agreed to next time getting a free meal for the inconvenience which wasn’t what was agreed. So now currently waiting for my order to be delivered over an hour late. Awful customer service and I will not be returning again it has ruined our evening!!!!!!!

Ordered a takeaway from here last night. Staff were helpful, and when the phone got cut off, they made the effort to call me back. Also a slight mix up with the pricing, but was sorted quickly and efficiently. The food speaks for itself. It was absolutely excellent. Great sized portions and delicious. Will visit again soon.

Worked here a while ago. Place is a joke. Manager cuts off incoming take away orders when it gets busy because he couldn't run a bath let alone a restaurant. As a take away driver that was the last straw after a string of broken promises I voted with my feet the next day came in at start of shift and told them I'm too good for this sort of chaotic management. Staff great food great management absolutely appalling and exploitative

Restaurant manager was a complete plank..fawning all over the customers then screaming like a big wuss at the kitchen staff. An economy version of Gordon Ramsey with a bad attitude and doing the reputation of turkish people no favours, if u want real turkish food at uninflated prices try super doner on broomfield parade great food great atmosphere great people great food. Avoid Mosaic like the plague unless you agree with treating staff like serfs

Absolutely diabolical service!!! In all the years we have been going out for dinner never have I experienced anything like this restaurant My wife has been on a number of occasions and its been ok.l, but tonight was an exception!! We arrived at 7.20pm and ordered drinks which took forever to arrive. How many times must we ask for our drinks?? We waited Two hours for our main course to arrive and in the end we got up and walked out. The manager who I spoke with must take responsibility for his restaurant and his staff, who incedently were USELESS!! Never ever again.

Ordered a delivery of 2 large shish kebabs & portion of halloumi. It arrived 35 mins after the end of the estimated delivery slot (i.e. nearly 2 hours after placing the order) I had to phone them to find out where it was (we only live a mile away!. On arrival, we untied the bag but it must’ve been tipped upside down on the way to us, so red cabbage juice had leaked from the salads and was all over everything. The chicken was almost cold & it was dry as if it wasn’t freshly cooked, rice was cold. The top piece of bread in the foil bag was ok but the rest of the pieces underneath were wet & soggy. Extremely disappointing, especially as it’s not cheap, we expected better, and we will not be ordering again from there unfortunately.

Delivery was so late an hour and a half from time of order. Also missing the starter. Called restaurant who would only offer a free starter next time not to resend the driver. Very poor

Our favourite Turkish restaurant around! Have been here many times over the years including for my partners birthday last year! Went again tonight and there was a mix up with the dishes but this was resolved quickly. The lovely gentleman who I believe to be the owner sorted us out with some free puddings which were lovely! The food is always amazing and the service is always given with a smile. ☺️

On Saturday 22/12/2023 my group (consisting of 9 people) went to Mosaic in Chelmsford for a Christmas meal and we had paid £50 deposit due to being a large table. We have been once before and couldn’t fault the service however when we went before it wasn’t busy. When we got there, it took the waiter 30 minutes to eventually approach our table and take our drink orders. We didn’t get our main meals until 21:15 after having chased them twice and being told it was 5 minutes away however we got the food around 20 minutes after that. Whilst we was at our table, there was a large group of kids sat on one table and the next table was their families/ parents behind us. 5 minutes into being there and the mother of the children was screaming at the kids, to the point where the restaurant went silent for the 4 times it happened and all turned look at her. The children sat behind us were throwing food for around 10 minutes. At no point did any staff or manager at the restaurant go over and tell them to stop. The children also were shouting and making really loud silly noises and shouting insulting words really loudly making people turn around. Their families didn’t tell them to stop and again at no point the manager didn’t tell them to stop. At around 2030, whilst still waiting for our mains, the restaurant had a table of men who were very drunk. One man stumbled to the toilet and vomitted everywhere in the toilets, so that others did not want to use. The toilets were around 5-6 meters from our table so it was hard to not see the cuffuffle outside. This male then proceeded to leave the toilets covered in point through the restaurant. At no point did any member of staff challenge them and it was clear that they were happy to take the customers money when buying the drinks. When the food finally arrived, the food was average. On two occasions we was given the wrong food for our table. One of my group being a vegetarian got given meat and then when told it wasn’t her food, after eating some chips, this wasn’t taken back to the kitchen, the staff member took it to the correct table!! Another vegetarian also never got his food( tomato pasta dish) We asked where it was and they served some dry pasta with some watery tomato sauce. This was very quickly returned to the kitchen and they took this and the other pasta dish off the bill. When it came to waiting 30 minutes for the bill after asking for it, the bill was £240. We complained and stated that the service was poor. Although the restaurant was busy, most of the staff were milling about and not doing much. The staff member said we will take another price of a meal off and went and printed another receipt however this still showed £240. I complained and he said that he spoke to the manager who said no we won’t be getting any money off the bill. We left and then quickly returned to remember that we had paid a £50 deposit that we wanted returned. This was returned to us in cash. In summary, myself or any members of my group will not be returning to this restaurant. The food is average, overpriced and the service was very bad.

Slow, terrible service. Waiting 2h45 to get our mains. Asked for my drink 3times. The waiter would come and instead of taking all our drink orders would take one then walk off. Kitchen too small for the size of restaurant.

Order confirmed at 6pm delivery time between 18:50-19:10. Called at 19:30 told it went out 10 mins before. Called again at 19:45 told by one nan it left 5 mins before. Another man came on and started shouting. Passed phone to my husband. He continued shouting. Said driver had accident, but was on our doorstep. 10 mins later luke warm food was delivered. Shouting blokes name was adjei. Absolute joke. Never order again. Not even an offer of a voucher for a starter!!!
