Went to private party the area that it was held in.was perfect for the family the little ones had space to play while adult could chat. Very pleasant time.

Found this pub by accident when on a trip to visit someone near stock in Essex. Decided to have lunch before our drive back home to Dover. So glad we did as the meal was delicious and presentation excellent. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Prices were reasonable and very nice atmosphere in the restaurant. We are having a third trip to the pub next week so will have another great lunch. I just wish I wasn’t driving as the beer selection is excellent. Thoroughly recommend this place and promise you won’t regret it.

Avoid 🙌 horrible women who work behind the bar they don't care that women get abused like I did by an alchoholic 😡 avoid at all costs

Gorgeous food, ordered the seafood risotto which was £27 but it was amazing. Plenty of it and a generous variety of seafood including mussels, octopus, butterfly prawn and scallops. Other members of our party ordered Steak, seabass, lasagne and steak pie and it all looked delicious! A true gem of a place with kind, attentive staff and superb chefs!

We were treated in such a bad way upon arrival there was a staff member who served us she was extremely rude. We ended up leaving and feeling so uncomfortable in the restaurant. Waiter appeared to be racist and we felt very uncomfortable, the communication and the serve was basically telling us to leave. Horrible place

Me and my wife stayed at the spa across the road and had a walk over to the bakers arms for dinner. Beautiful little pub amazing staff was literally the best steak and ale pie I’ve ever had in my life highly recommend this venue we will definitely be visiting again very soon 5 stars all the way

had a lovely lunch time meal, great service all food was delicious and good value, only thing was it was cold sitting in the restaurant, my friend sat with her coat on, i was sat next to a radiator but was still cold, could feel a draught. would happily return but wearing thermals!!

Have been to The Bakers Arms numerous times, and the food has always been first class.

Just nipped in for a quick drink and felt at home straight away... Good selection on beer and nice warm welcome... Nice fire as well to warm the extremities...

Great place to eat n staff are lovely

We had lunch here for my partner’s birthday. Food was delicious and the service was excellent, our server was very attentive. To be honest on walking in we were the only black couple and I initially felt a bit awkward, but that was very short lived, the patrons and staff were very welcoming and we f instantly felt at home. Well worth the visit and the money

Lovely olde English beamed pub with GK Abbot & IPA on hand pump. Best of all was the incredible food. Had liver n bacon with red wine onion gravy and fat chips. Stunningly tasty and elevated from trad English menu status to very fine dining. My wife had bass with sautéed new potatoes with lemon and garlic caper sauce & asparagus, which she said was superb. Quite honestly, from the outside we expected scampi & chips and 2 old boys playing dommys in the bar. How wrong were we: this is an extremely fine restaurant with a comforting pub vibe. Well done - we can't wait to re-visit!😀👍🍺🍺

Had lunch on the outside patio which was a nice space and not crowded. Food was well presented and very tasty. Service was friendly but a little slow. Prices are quite reasonable. Planning on returning for dinner and exploring the menu in more detail.

Decent pub, friendly staff. We had lunch and the food was very nice. Only complaint was my ploughman's which was a very mean size for the price. Very small portion for a ploughman's compared with other pubs in the area. Wouldn't stop me returning but I wouldn't have the ploughman's again due to it not being value for money in my view.

It’s ok for lunch if it’s not too busy. The pubs traditional and it hasn’t ‘sold out’ like the bear and the click inn. Still has the traditional feel and nice beer garden. Food is great, just gets a bit noisy at peak times but what ya gonna do?

From the family ousted by the manager. We arrived at 11.30 to get some lunch, 4 adults, 2 children (2 and 3 years old) and a newborn. We’d just ordered some drinks and the children started to get upset, mostly because they were hungry. They were crying for around 2 minutes before the rude manager stuck her head around the corner and said ‘excuse me, we’ve got other customers’, in a very patronising and aggressive manner. Baring in mind we were the only people sat in the restaurant section and we hadn’t even ordered food yet, we were very shocked and frustrated by this response. If it had been going on for a long time and the restaurant was full I would understand but this was a completely unnecessary, unprofessional way to deal with the situation. If this is their attitude then it should be made into a child free establishment. We left before ordering food and went elsewhere. Wouldn’t recommend going if you have children.

Rude blonde lady behind the bar this lunchtime. The restaurant was very busy once I got to the front of the queue I asked if there was a table to which she bluntly replied NO. It was the delivery of the reply which got me. I turned on my heel with my two children and walked down the road to The Harvard Inn which was also very busy but was greeted by a friendly polite bar lady. Good customer service goes a long way.

What can one say it was excellent 👏 👌

My Mum booked a table back in April for a family get together and was required to pay deposit of £5 per head which worked out at £60. Unfortunatley a number of us went down with Covid a few days before so we decided to cancel. My Mum phoned up to cancel and get the deposit back and was told she could hold the deposit over for a later date. Mum explained that getting our family together is not always easy and it could be up to 6 months. She was told that this was fine. When she tried to rearrange for early September she was told there was no record of this and showing a bank statement of the £60 payment was not proof of deposit. They took the booking and said they would check on social media to see if anyone had any recollection of the booking and didn't take a further deposit. They said they would let us know. On the morning of the booking they contacted us saying they had been trying to contact us all week (they hadn't we checked the phone log) because they had received no deposit. My Mum explained the situation and was virtually accused of lying. They then said as a goodwill gesture they would take £20 off the table which seemed a bit strange since they had just implied she was making the whole thing up. We took our custom elsewhere although we've paid £60 for essentially nothing and the whole thing has been dealt with very badly. Won't be going back in a hurry.

A very pleasant place on the sunshine. It is dog friendly and spacious outside with ample car parking space although the inside was smaller than expected. The food was good but a bit pricey but everywhere the food prices seem to have gone up!

A very poor Sunday Lunch. We were extremely disappointed. The lamb was tough, the cabbage was grey and overcooked and the whole meal was drowning in gravy.

Quality country pub with great food and drinks

Good quality food, bit pricey though.

Sunday evening was very quiet ( only 2 tables with customers). The menu is a bit limited on Sundays but the steak was excellent, and the lamb roast was also very good. Certainly worth a revisit in the future.

First time visitor, food was excellent, will be back again for some more.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday here with the family, there were 10 of us. The staff were all so helpful and really helped us enjoy the evening. The food was lovely. Would not hesitate in recommending.

The pub is bit stark inside (black beams, white walls) but the food was very good and the prices reasonable.

We only stopped here for a drink before going off to eat elsewhere but we have no complaints. The table was cleaned, a cushion was given for one of our chairs that was missing one. Our drinks were all great. The gins were served in lovely glasses with fruit and a cardboard straw and the men were very happy with their lager and Guinness. We'll done Bakers Arms!

Did not have a booking for lunch but managed to get a table for four. Staff were friendly and courteous, service was excellent and so was the food. Was well planned out for social distancing, clean and tidy.

Attitude of staff member not good

We did not know the pubs in this area but decided to take a chance on this place as it looked nice and had a garden area for eating.Really pleased we did - food was excellent, well cooked and well presented. My wife and I had the mixed seafood grill which was delicious and our daughter had the omelette which she said was perfect.The staff were friendly, helpful and watching the way they interacted with customers, nothing seemed to be too much trouble..The menu is extensive enough to please most palates and is not over expensive.We do not live nearby otherwise we would definitely frequent this pub regularly but will certainly return when we are next in the area.

Having been told this was a great place to eat, I thought I would try it out with a friend for a lunch & wish I hadn't, now.I ordered the Battered Cod. It didn't look good on presentation, it a very thin piece of cod with the skin still on. It was soggy with Greece/oil & that's what it tasted of. It was totally flat on the surface & nothing crispy about it.On cutting it open I could see uncooked batter. It looked like the fish was was dipped in the batter & put in cold oil & stayed flat. It didn't have the texture or taste of cod. Having eaten battered cod at 2 other local gastro pubs recently & thoroughly enjoyed it, my experience at the Bakers Arms was far from satisfactory. When I raised the problem with the server, she wasn't apologetic & told me how others had ordered the same dish that day. It was not helpful to me & I was discussing the Cod on my plate & not others. My friend had an Omelette which didn't look at all appetising. I would not go back because they were not customer focused & they did not listen. It was a waste of time & money & not having eaten I went home & cooked.
