The best restaurants serving Japanese food in South East

The folks at YR Sushi were absolutely lovely and we are so happy to have found a local place that does sushi, and with great quality and service! We ordered dinner from them to be delivered for our small zoom wedding day and it was such a nice treat. We will definitely order from them again!

This was just an outstanding experience. The food was unusual creative and delicious. Each course was really different and a delight. Our hosts were fun and conversation flowed. Definitely going again !

Only recently discovered this little gem. It's one of the pop up style food stalls in the Open Market and the food is amazing. you must try it!

Really fresh delicious sushi. Spicy salmon poke bowl was generous and excellent quality. Spider roll was unusual , miso aubergine really delicious and tuna maki lovely. Whole order was delightfully presented and decently sized portions and we will certainly reorder from this team. Only thing that took the shine off our order was discrepancy between original order estimated time (given as 35-50mins at time of placing order but Uber eats) but only finally arrived 1hr25 later.

Loved everything about this restaurant! The server was perfect, cocktails were delicious and the tasting menu is gorgeous. Would definitely recommend and planning my next visit 🤩

It was our first time trying out food on this restaurant. Our first impression was good as we looked at different options on the menue. When we received our food, my husband had ordered rice with different vegetables on it and as he expected food to be served warm, it come slightly cold, and he went to ask if it can be warmed up slightly. The lady behind the counter said that they do not have microwave and in fact she said the food is always kept on the room temperature. This made me slightly worried as restaurant serves rice and seaweed wrap that should not be kept out of fridge. However I did not think of it much at the time and carried on enjoying our meal. Same night after my meal I started to feel unwell and was up all night being nauseas and vomiting. There was noughing else that could have caused it but the food I ate there. It was so unpleasant experience that I promised to myself I would never eat there and be extra cautious when eating out next time.

Great sushi. Will return when we’re about. Tasty food and very good price either way two great cocktails for price of one.

It was empty when we arrived, still the food and service were great. The glass of water was refilled constantly, needed for the salty food.

Eaten here many times, always delicious! It has the golden trio of being delicious, healthy and not too expensive! The tacos are absolutely lush and an absolute bargain! The poke bowls are the best in Brighton and the staff are always friendly and attentive. Fresh vibrant flavours whilst also feeling decadent, a rare combo!
