The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Japanese food

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Waitress, Margarett, was really helpful when we arrived, explained the menu really well and recommended the bento boxes which meant we got to try loads of different dishes. Food was amazing, so delicious and really good value. I had mentioned in the booking that it was my girlfriend's birthday and they surprised us with a huge slice of cake for dessert, which was a lovely surprise. Would 100% recommend and can't wait to go again and try some of the other dishes.

If you have never had a Teppanyaki before, this is a great evening out. Before going, make sure your mobile is fully charged as you will probably wish to capture the experience on video. From the menu, you can choose chicken, steak, lobster tails, duck, salmon, tilapia or prawns which are cooked on your table to your liking. The chef is a comedian and starts off by juggling his cooking utensils in front of you. Get your cameras ready for the gigantic flames he produces on the table. He then juggles eggs, one of which usually finishes in his hat. After the juggling, the eggs are prepared on your table as a basis for egg fried rice. Camera ready gain as the chef throws a piece of omlette at each guest that would like to try and catch it in their mouth. Expect the sound of lots of laughter or applause. Then the cooking begins. To the meat and fish there is a selection of sauces and seasonings which you can choose. I would recommend tempura prawns as a starter. The meat and fish is all good but there is a sushi alternative or as an extra if you are really hungry. For a soft drink, I would recommend the Apple Mist. The whole evening is an experience you will remember for a long time.

THE BEST fried chicken I’ve ever had. Okonomiyaki on the menu which I’ve not seen on menus anywhere outside of Japan so far. They do huge pizzas too which look delicious. Fun and relaxed place to hang out. Good and drinks CHEAP drinks menu. Really interesting looking cocktails I’ve not seen before. I’m looking forwards to coming back. Every so often I like to treat myself to a little meal on my own. Nice to sit in the corner watching Naruto. I noticed families eating there as well as some other solo customers who sat at the bar, the staff were all cheerful and friendly without exception. Seems like a cool place to hang. The vibes were immaculate. They also cater to veggies. I’ve been searching high and low for a Japanese/chicken place. Really authentic food, lovely atmosphere, huge portions and unbelievably good prices. It’s well worth the minuscule 2 minute walk away from the main drag where the restaurants are all either over priced and/or quite shoddy. Me and my husband came here for an early valentines date night. I booked a table after reading good reviews. The staff were really friendly and attentive. Even taking a photo of us abs sending to us. The food was delicious, we had starters, mains and dessert. All really good, particularly the crispy duck salad and the summer maki. We also really liked the Yasai tempuri. It’s the best meal out we’ve had in ages. We would definitely come again! I’ll share photos.

Just ordered this on deliveroo and wow it’s the best sushi I’ve had in London. Absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back!

Simple, tasty and healthy sushi. I tried a burrito which was delicious. A very relaxed and pleasant environment in which the service was friendly and efficient.

This place is a must visit. We had the three course meal paired with wine. The service was outstanding and the food was equally matched. Great dishes and wine. If you want a special meal for a special occasion definitely try here.

Cute little setup inside, friendly staff and delicious food. We went for the crispy salmon sushi which was delicious and a meal in itself. Definitely underestimated the portion sizes. The sushi was lovely and fresh and full of flavour. The chicken yakisoba was again lovely, well presented and very filling. I think if we went back we'd just have the sushi as it was definitely the best sushi we've had.

Se suponía que íbamos a estar en un espectáculo en el Tabernáculo, pero no había suficiente espacio allí, y encontramos el camino a Oka. Casi me alegro de que nos perdiéramos el programa. Mi sobrina y yo nos sentamos junto a la ventana, nos pusimos al día y comimos comida fabulosa. Fue una noche maravillosa.

El servicio fue lento, ya que los camareros estaban ocupados concentrándose en sus pedidos para llevar, pero valió la pena esperar. El camarero atendió a mi pequeña porción saludable y pedimos pollo katsu curry con arroz y un pollo teriyaki curry pequeño saludable con verduras y ensalada. La comida era deliciosa y saludable y un poco caro y lento servicio, pero bien vale la pena la espera. Nos llenaba el vientre de comida caliente y deliciosa en un frío día de invierno. Roku es sin duda el mejor restaurante japonés en Sheffield. Mi amigo ama este lugar y conoce bien al personal. El chef Tomo y su personal son amables; siempre tratan de acomodar cualquier solicitud. El ambiente es fantástico, relajado y sereno.

This was a lovely place with great tasting food and also lovely staff! I also really like the vibe. The place has a simple Japanese minimalistic vibe. Big up kaizen! 👏🏻😋
