Sushi Hero in Kingston upon Thames

Cute little setup inside, friendly staff and delicious food. We went for the crispy salmon sushi which was delicious and a meal in itself. Definitely underestimated the portion sizes. The sushi was lovely and fresh and full of flavour. The chicken yakisoba was again lovely, well presented and very filling. I think if we went back we'd just have the sushi as it was definitely the best sushi we've had.

This restaurant is one of our favourites but my last visit was disappointing, they either changed their chef or the food quality deteriorated. The sushi wasn't fresh, tuna tartare look and taste odd. I hope they go back to their good old days. I took my parents here for the first time and talked very highly about it so it was very disappointing to see things has changed.

This place has brilliant customer services. The food is incredible. We're local, have been twice now, and will most certainly be visiting again.

absolutely delicious food... Japanese staff are attentive and super polite... very friendly and happy to help with anything... was seated at the staff table and was chatting to manager and her colleague... absolutely lovely experience... would like to pop in on pay day in March and order a full lunch rather than a couple of starters... am a big fan if Ebi Katsu... Friendly reception, clean modern decor. Great food (really fresh ingredients) and a big plus…open today, Boxing Day. We felt most welcome.

Decided to come here on a whim after a quick search for sushi in Surbiton and so glad we did. Every plate of food was delicious; the spicy edamame, soft shell crab and egg plant starters through to my hero sushi roll and my partner’s salmon poke bowl. The service from Linda was also a stand out. Early in the evening we were the only dine in customers but there was a steady flow of delivery riders picking up orders. I’d recommend visiting in person for the service, it really made a difference.

Went for dinner on a double date. Cosy little restaurant off the beaten track but worth it. Food was delish, service was good (they even ran after us when we forgot our sunnies). Pay them a visit, you won’t regret it

Absolutely love it here and come back frequently. The staff are always so friendly and put so much care into everything so always have a wonderful experience. The food is delicious and there is such a wide selection of food available, would recommend everything!! The interior is beautifully designed and it is such a relaxing atmosphere. A go-to if you're in the area!

Throughly enjoyed our visit. We were offered 20% discount due to the group beforehand running slightly late. We were given a heads up beforehand and the owner Linda was very apologetic and lovely. When we were seated we experienced fast and welcoming service. Food was all excellent, I’d definitely recommend the yakitori for starter and the Hero roll for main! We will definitely visit again!

Consistently fabulous food in this local buzzy restaurant. So many great dishes. Love the sashimi, Agedashi tofu, miso aubergine, octopus balls with bonito flakes, poke bowls, prawn tempura…. Too many to list all! Great atmosphere and attentive service.

We recently moved in to the area and were thrilled to find this great restaurant around the corner. Reasonably priced and great food - we are now regulars. Book ahead though, they get busy!

We’ve walked past sushi hero so many times and have finally visited. I can confirm this will not be the last time we frequent. The spiderman roll was amazing, as was the tuna tartare. Amazing food and amazing service.

The food was fantastic and so was the host The Wasabi spiderman rolls were amazing and the Tuna was something else You will not be disappointed!

I’ve visited Sushi Hero a couple of times now and the food is SO good! It’s a small restaurant so make sure you book ahead if you’re hoping to eat in. The service is always great and the food is reasonably priced.

This place is so worth to visit. Great fresh food prepared as per your order, lovely and friendly staff. Menu is incredible and you can get also a recomadation, in case you are not too familiar with all Japanese items on the menu. Will be definitely back and also use their delivery service in the future.

Visited on New Year's Eve for dinner. Really nice new decor, and great service - incredibly friendly lady who looked after us even when they were busy with delivery/collection orders, she couldn't do enough for us. We had a range of sushi including both their special rolls, all was very good and the fish was great quality. Honestly can't fault it. Yuzu 'tea' was yummy too!

I was pleased to see this small restaurant opening -Surbiton needs more diversity of restaurants and this one looked promising. Sadly, however, I had two criticisms on our visit: 1. The service could have been more attentive and 2. The food (chicken Katsu curry) was unseasoned, bland and not even slightly spicy. I hope the restaurant reads this review and ups their game because I would like places like this to stay viable and stick around. But if the food’s not memorable that seems unlikely. Hopeful Diner
