Boat Sushi in Kingston upon Thames

Really tasty ramen and big portion. Service was quick and friendly. Good lunch menu options. One traditional ramen with pork and one with prawns, both really good.

Conveniently located near Surbiton station and Waitrose. Always polite and pleasant service. Sushi delicious. Will try the ramen/udon or rice dishes next time.

Good presentation & fast delivery. The Crunch tiger roll is delicious & one of the best I’ve had, still arrived warm!! highly recommend :) this will be one of my regular spots now

Azing food great service. Ordered original tonkotsu, great flavour of broth, fresh noodles and perfectly cooked pork beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. Will be back again soon.

Had a really lovely meal at Boat recently - I'm vegetarian and have sometimes felt like I'm missing out when it comes to sushi as everyone else's looks amazing and cucumber maki or avocado nigiri etc isn't as exciting. That wasn't the case at Boat at all, however, it was sooo tasty! I had the spicy crunch veggie roll and it was really delicious, so many flavours and the portion was super generous, I ended up having to take half of it home and it was just as nice the next day for lunch. My boyfriend had the salmon version which he loved, and we shared inari and the veggie ramen which came with gyozas in it, again really lovely and it was piping hot. We had such a kind server also, she was very attentive and once we'd paid we realised that the receipt didn't include a tip, neither of us had any cash on us so we asked for the card machine again so we could add a tip and the lady refused, saying 'don't worry about it, just come again!' and we 100% will :)

Fantastic restaurant. Atmosphere, service and food is all brilliant. The sushi is particularly fresh and delicious. We are vegan and both the waitresses and chefs were incredibly kind, accommodating and helpful in making suggestions and checking ingredients for allergens. There were at least 10 - 15 dishes we could have. We always go here when we want the most delicious sushi in the UK! Go and sit in; you will leave feeling very warm, full and relaxed.

I’ve loved Boat since they arrived in Surbiton Sadly my last 2-3 orders have been increasing disappointing - several ingredients missing, specific notes being ignored etc. I very much appreciated the potential supply chain issues at the moment, but I’m sure there are ways to communicate this?

This was fortunately right around the corner from the hotel we were staying at who's restaurant was closed. Very good meal at an affordable price.

Having just been to Boat Sushi for dinner I would have to say I did expect better. The sushi I ordered (crab & prawn) was really good quality and tasted very fresh however the Chicken Katsu my girlfriend ordered was it great, it came out looking like a school dinner and was not seved with any Veggies which we both found odd as even places like Kokoro (fast food) through in some greens. Overall to dine in at boat was a bit of a let down and for the price you paid I would expect a bit more plus the drinks menu to sit in was very limited. What I would recommend is to get a takeaway from there and will only be returning for takeaway in the future.

They just don't care about what they give you in those take-away packages. It is your local restaurant you really want to like, but you cannot once you have tried their food. Staple dish, Katsu chicken = a russian roulette of relatively fresh chicken and pieces and leftovers from the week. The leftovers uneatable - tough, looking awful and disgusting. If they served me that dish in the restaurant, I would send it back straight away. Boat is only surviving as one cannot be bothered to walk all the way back and show them the rubbish they serve you.

I thought Kokoro was bad but at least you get what you pay for there. Boat = heavily rice and sauce based dishes, no protein despite dishes advertised as chicken/ beef/ prawn. Katsu sauce = loads of condensed sugar, most likely from a pack. Customer service when dealing with take away orders is below average. Poor attitude that matches the quality of food actually served.

Appreciate with the pandemic Boat sushi is working to a reduced menu but please state clearly so you don’t waste customers time as ordered clearly a chicken katsu bento and I just got chicken katsu. Also ordered online sushi set A which is clearly different to what I got... half the size. First and last time as customers service was non existent...

I discovered this little place by chance and decided to get takeaway (by Deliveroo). I had high expectations due to raving reviews everywhere. I couldn't be more wrong. I ordered a sushi set box but the rice was terrible. Maybe they put too much water when cooking rice?? It was too soft and pressed hard therefore you cannot really see grains. I, in the end, had some fish as sashimi slices as the rice was dreadful. If a sushi restaurant cannot cook rice, it is seriously wrong. It is only this time and I was unlucky? I won't be able to find out as I don't think I will eat their food again. What a shame... If you get sushi from Atari-ya in Norbiton, you will never get a sushi set like this.

katsu curry had hardly any sauce, 40 min late delivery, ordered tiger prawns that said 7 pieces, its actuall one prawn cut into 7, bloody disgrace one prawn 8.95

Our first takeaway since the lockdown and it was so delicious! The Prawn Katsu curry and Salmon sushi set are family favourites. Looking forward to returning soon.
