Boat Sushi in Kingston upon Thames

I have eaten in a couple of years ago and tonight we ordered for delivery. The ambience inside is lovely and cosy, but I was also impressed with the speed and quality of delivery. I used to live in Japan and the ratio of fish to rice is the closest I have found to authentic sushi in the Surbiton area. Really tasty! The hot food is also of a high quality.

Delicious food and service. Bagya was super helpful for me. I am gluten free (coeliac) and they were so understanding. I’ll be coming back and ordering takeaway for sure. Highly recommend!

Ordered delivery via their website at 21:25 (they close at 22:00). Order was accepted, payment was taken, SMS received to confirm order. But then we heard nothing more. Tried calling twice: no answer. Never received the food.

Absolutely loved it, not really a fan of Japanese food however this restaurant has definitely made me a fan, will definitely go back the food was excellent and the staff were so lovely

I had luncheon here on 17/10/24. I thought that the food was horrible. 48 hours later I had gastroenteritis for six days.. Definitely avoid this restaurant.

This restaurant is the reason I cook at home. Poor value for money, bland food and just overall really poor.

This is a fabulous little restaurant that never fails us, we have been coming here often to have Sushi and Soups are delicious. The service is always friendly the food come out in time. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who lo es fresh Sushi and a beautiful Ramen.

The sushi is brilliant. Thick slices of salmon and tuna. Fancy and was very filling. Chicken gyoza udon noodles were a little bit basic (broth, noodles, seaweed and spring onions) but very good still, gyozas were great. We'll order from here again.

Accommodated my menu request without making me feel awkward. Pumpkin Katsu curry just yummy with great bespoke side veggie salad and refreshing jasmine tea. Service friendly and efficient, atmosphere good vibe and seems a popular place.

Had nice experience before when eating in! Unfortunately not the same when ordering delivery - was missing the curry for my katsu curry 🤦. Called and there was no apology, just told to request a refund through UberEats. Where I received the message “We're sorry to hear this order didn't meet your expectations. Upon review, we found that the missing item(s) didn't have a price, which means we can't process a refund. Thanks for understanding.”

Been using Boat for takeaway for a few years and it's been consistently great - Sushi is fresh and tasty, and the Katsu Curry absolutely loaded with chicken. On the few time's we've eaten in the restaurant it's been great - service always excellent and the food spot on. Highly recommend

Fresh, delicious and SO much food! We ordered the biggest sushi boat between 6 people and we had enough leftovers for 2 lunches (they brought a whole other plate after I took this picture).

My boyfriend took me out for dinner here for my birthday and it was amazing. The service was really quick and friendly. The food was reasonably priced and super filling. I definitely recommend visiting. Will be coming back again soon :)

I ordered 2 times and missing items are sticks

Sushi set just a set. 2 stars are for fresh only. Not worth £30 for the set, some sushi outlook just like ALDI’s one. Lazy to take photo. The taste not that bad, just because fish are quite fresh. Even official receipt is handwriting, just the item with the price, then adding up ask you pay by card (wireless) Tonight price per person is £20 (2 adult 2 children), I think not worth this price.

Was thrilled to find an authentic ramen and sushi place in my neighborhood. Their tonkotsu ramen hits the right spots and has me coming back for seconds.

Lovely small Japanese restaurant. Had the chicken gyoza yakisoba and shared the Takoyaki and prawn sushi. Everything was delicious, carefully prepared and presented and the service was excellent and fast. Nice peaceful atmosphere too.

Love the lean pork slides in Ramen. My partner prefers miso soup but I like tonkatsu more. Recommend seaweed salad too.

have had ramen from here a few times and it's very good , I recommend their Tonkotsu ramen , also sides such as Karage and Takoyaki are delicious. staff seemed friendly too , cannot comment on service as I always order for takeaway.

Me and my partner have been regularly coming into Boat for our days when we don’t feel like cooking or just fancy something to eat. As an individual from Hong Kong the sushi here is nice and fresh, every time we visit the service was fantastic. Highly recommend to visit, even better on quieter nights you can enjoy the peacefulness of just your own.

My favourite place to eat in Surbiton! The staff are so friendly, and we’ve always had wonderful service. My favourites for a weeknight comfort meal are the kitsune udon, and the fried chicken curry udon. I also love the takoyaki and chicken karaage, both of which are so full of flavour and taste hot and fresh. For a special dinner, the sushi boat is incredible - such a huge variety of different sushi, presented well, and amazing value when you’re eating as a couple or in a group. Comes so quickly, with salads and miso soup. To finish off, drinks like sake and plum wine are reasonably priced. A real gem in Surbiton, with unpretentious and relaxed interior. Speedy service when dining in, and food still tastes fresh when delivered to nearby.

I've been here twice now, the second time was much better than the first time, the overall options are a lot, and the quality is good, if you fancy Japanese food in Surbiton this can be a good option. They are also dog friendly.

Yes, I understand that everyone gets stressed every day, but telling a driver to wait outside in the rain instead of waiting inside can't be considered polite at all. Went for a quiet lunch on Friday. Quick service and quality ingredients not to mention authentic flavours! Will definitely return.

One of the worst ramen I have ever had. It tasted exactly like Nissin Instant Noodles, which only cost you ~50p and you can make it with no cooking experiences in minutes at home. Very disappointed.

Always come for lunch or dinner once a month when I'm in the area for work. Delicious and authentic Japanese cuisine, I've been trying to find decent sushi and finally have at the Boat! Staff are super friendly and prices reasonable. Good value for the quality.

Boat is our go-to place whenever we are craving for Japanese food. We have been going for the past year and we have been consistently satisfied with the food and the service. Highly recommend it if you are looking for simple authentic Japanese food.

This place was brilliant and - bizarrely - totally empty when we visited last Saturday night. Fantastic ramen, gyoza and sushi, and the friendly service made my kids' evening. Deserves to be rammed!
