I went to the Eataly shop for the first time. It is filled of lots of lovely looking food. I bought some samphire from here. The packaging doesnt make it very obvious that it may contain traces of all tree nuts. I wouldnt check thoroughly that a plain vegetable would contain nuts, and it wasnt made obvious. Ended up having an allergic reaction and in A And E. a vegetable shouldnt may contain nuts, and if it does make it very explicit not in small letter on the back.

We arrived bang on time for our 5.30 reservation, to be greeted and taken downstairs and sat in a table in the middle of the restaurant surrounded by pretty much empty tables. Compared to upstairs which was bright and lively ( and not full...) I could only describe downstairs as bleak. We ordered relatively quickly but I had to ask three times for tap water, I was incredibly thirsty and was on the verge of pouring my own glass (!) when my daughter asked for a third time and it finally came. The dough balls arrived very quickly, followed swiftly by the pizzas. As we were only half way through the dough balls they took them back and kept them warm. They returned with them about 10 minutes later and they were tiny ...also very over seasoned and greasy. All in all very disappointed, and wish we had gone to one of the many different restaurants in the area.

We have been to almost every vapiano in Europe since 2018, it was one of our favorite places. Today we went to England for the first time. I had spaghetti bolognese and carbonara or bolognese. You looked for the ragout inside. It was like plain spaghetti with sauce. The spaghetti was overcooked. this bolognese was the best, but the spaghetti was overcooked and the sauce didn't have enough milk cream! There was a gentleman who filled the forks and knives, he did it without gloves and he replaced them from where we were eating, it didn't seem nice to me, but the staff was very nice and polite!

I went for the 3 courses for £23.95 and was very pleased with my starter (mushrooms) and pizza. Alas the tiramisu, which I'd been really looking forward to, given it was an Italian restaurant, was awful - bordering on inedible. What ruined my experience was when the bill came - it wasn't £23.95, it was £30! The waiter explained the 3 courses wasn't 23.95, but £25.95 - the menus were all a little outdated ! There was a service charge on top which had brought the total up. I checked several Bella Italias after and all their adverts and menus have the same offer. I couldn't check what they were actually charging as the one in Shaftesbury Square insisted they were fully booked and couldn't squeeze me in - despite there being several empty tables when I asked and the same tables were empty 40 minutes later when I walked back past. A very disappointing experience overall.

This restaurant has switched to the European 'service charge' model. The food and service was fine but adding 12.5% to the bill (which I only noticed after paying) is a swindle we can do without in the UK. It's claimed the rip-off is optional but it is automatically added to the bill. If it were optional I would have to take an action to pay it, other forms of inertia sales are banned. What makes this even worse is that most of the money will not go to the staff, half will be wasted in tax and most of the rest used by the shareholders to achieve the statutory minimum wage. These dirty practices are not acceptable in the UK.

Service good but the menu description was deliberately deceitful. I ordered fettuccine with prosciutto and mushrooms. This came with large chunks of bacon, not prosciutto. When I pointed this out, the waitress started to how difficult it was to get prosciutto and how expensive it was. Well, no and yes. She sheepishly apologised when I paid the bill, so this was clearly deliberate. And to add insult, a 10% service charge was automatically added, though there was no mention of on the menu. So a few pence was saved by the restaurant and I'll never return.

Tried this restaurant on a whim and to be honest I think I would need to go back when it is not badged up Lacoste. The food felt like tapas, courses were coning and going so intermittently that as a couple we never really ate a meal together. The best part was the strawberries and Italian baked meringue.. delicious. The rest was ordinary. As I say I think to be fair we just picked a naff collaboration
