The best restaurants serving Italian food in East Hertfordshire East of England

I booked in the entire space for my husband’s 40th surprise party and I can’t tell you how happy I am with how everything went! I had been looking for a venue for a while and when I saw Paisá it was perfect! Lorenzo and his staff were so helpful in helping me to plan the evening! The food and drinks were spectacular and I couldn’t recommend this place more! They were super accommodating on the day as well and everything went to plan and all executed smoothly. I highly highly highly recommend and would definitely rebook for future events!!

A great friendly little Italian, welcoming space and staff, smashing cappuccino and baked I house chocolate spread croissant 🥐 I was looking for a breakfast stop and stumbled across Pasticceria Di Leo, it’s tucked away inside a little covered arcade, but well worth sniffing out.

A simple yet amazing Cafe / Sandwich bar that serves top notch food and fantastic coffee. Chris’s passion for food and coffee shines through and the Chris Special is my go to sandwich of choice. Sitting outside with the sun shining is one of my simple pleasure in life!!

Great pizza but random opening times. Took the kids for Sunday after 5:30pm and was closed

I don't normally write reviews but Hardy Yard Pizzas deserve this. Not for the first time I have experienced pizzas of the best quality. Cam and his team consistently produce mouth watering, thin crust, delicious tasting pizzas. The latest experience was at the Leander Club, Henley, and if you are a member go taste. Very Yummy!!!

Booked Villa italia for a company night out. Sawbridgeworth has an Italian gem. Food was amazing and cooked to perfection. Marino and his hard working team did not disappoint. Thank you guys for an amazing night out. All my clients messaged me afterwards they had an amazing time.

First time here. Lovely place and staff.

Gluten Free heaven. I have the mushroom bruschetta and the gluten free bread was so delicious. For main i had the Parmigiana which was so cheesy. And finally for dessert i had the Caprese, which is an almond flourless cake, with some gelato on top… everything was so so delicious and fantastic for gluten free. I only wish they had a gluten free pizza option as the pizzas looked amazing. I have posted my daughter’s pizza. Fully recommended for everyone.

Took my partners parents out for lunch for their anniversary to this pub. Very friendly staff with a fantastic menu. Cannot begin to describe just how good the food was!, meat was cooked to perfection. Was a shame that I was so full I couldn’t enjoy a dessert! Really hoping the pub is doing an xmas lunch as we’ll defiantly be booking if they do

Authentic and so delicious! Service was impressively fast and the menu offers a nice variety of choice. Lovely staff too! The tiny matron was a proper character - a little brusque but in an endearing way. All the other staff were very friendly and welcoming.

We have been here before and thought it was great. However, this time we got there to find the restaurant was shut? We had pre-booked our table via their website?? Google said open. Their website opening hours said open. Completely threw us and wasted our time walking there. No signs saying it was shut or anything lights completely off, no one inside and couldn't open the door. This was on 19/07/2024.

Seen lots of people in this cafe many times and thought “why not give it a go”. Sat down and was given a menu, first of all not a lot of choice so ended up just going for the scrambled eggs on toast and added bacon, my mum had the florentine pizza. Had to go to the counter and pay upfront. The scrambled eggs were watery and had no taste, the bacon tasted like it was expired and the bread was tiny and slightly burnt, also the orange juice tasted watered down! The pizza was soggy on the bottom and didn’t have any taste, only managed two slices before giving up on it. This is definitely not authentic Italian. Waste of time and money.

It was my first visit here and I wasn’t impressed, I eat out a lot and I really cannot think of much good to say. The service was quite poor, but we overlooked this as the restaurant was busy. The food all tasted the same, very bland and flavourless. I personally won’t be returning. Very loud atmosphere and very rushed.

Love this restaurant. Brilliant section of food and reasonably priced.
