Wow, wow, wow, wow and again wow!! For your soul to be touched by these unique flavours is an experience not to be forgotten , a truly devoted chef concocted what can only be described as lightning to the senses born of a genie from the shiny lamp , when and where he found this shiny lamp I don’t know but it made our holiday experience complete …

A relative that had been previously and who had enthused about it, that combined with a recommendation from local B&B owner and previous reviews we were expecting something exceptional, however we left feeling disappointed. We were advised to book yet were the only people in. The restaurant is very small but seemed very clean and bright. Staff were pleasant and attentive. We ordered 2 mains, a bhuna lamb and chicken tikka masala, one portion of mushroom pilau rice, 2 poppadoms and a peshwari naan, one large bottle, one small bottle of Cobra. The meal was served very quickly, almost too quickly. The rice was good but the strange thing about both main courses was although there was plenty of meat, there were no pieces of lamb or chicken bigger than a sugar lump. The sauce with the tikka tasted excessively sweet and the bhuna sauce had very little texture, it was almost pureed. The naan was over sweet and the colour of an orange hi-vis jacket, the mango chutney was an unusual deep red in colour. We dine out at Indian restaurants quite frequently and have never had meals served with such tiny pieces. The bill was just short of £60 which seemed excessive, the two beers alone came to over £12. The speed from ordering to the meals getting presented so quickly suggested maybe the sauces were pre-made rather than cooked to order. Would think twice about returning based on the high price.

We ordered here for the first time last night as we saw the buy one pizza get one free deal. Wow, absolutely amazing! We had a small pizza each and shared the mushroom pakora. Everything was fresh, tasty and delivered super hot. To have that level of freshness demonstrates a real care for the ingredients and quality. And what value considering one of the pizzas was free! We will definitely be back again. The delivery driver was so friendly and kind too. Thanks Border Hot Cuisine! We can't wait to try the rest of the menu 🙂

Went here with my wife on Sunday 6th October 24 after a visit to Kelso Races. The staff are ultra friendly & very chatty. The food is beautiful and I have to say the portion sizes of Chicken are the largest we’ve ever had. Prices are same as most other UK Indian Restaurants. All in all we would definitely recommend a visit to this lovely restaurant. I give this restaurant 99% out of 100%. The 1% bad thing is the fact that one of the Staff supports Man City. I made sure I cleaned my fork properly because I don’t want to catch Man City syndrome and end up being a City Fan. Thank you guys. We will be back.

We eat Indian food everywhere we go, regularly cook it at home and we buy takeaways from different restaurants once a week. It is usually excellent. This place was the first really disappointing experience we’ve had in years. Ordered four main dishes which were all basically the same. Characterless, watery veg and really lacking in flavour, complexity and depth. Texture of each sauce was the same too. Pilau rice was just basmati stained with turmeric and the naan was flat and dense rather than fluffy and light. There is not competition for miles around but seriously… must try harder. Not at all recommended.

Visited here for a curry tonight and was definitely disappointed. Staff are rude and look like they hate their jobs as well as throwing the basket down with our hand towels in. We are not animals and that type of disrespect is unjustified. Meal was actually half decent despite lacking atmosphere. Everything was fine until the bill was settled, a surcharge was added without knowledge, although this may be standard, the hike to the bill was not. The curry ordered on the menu was £9.95, although we was was charged £13.95. On top of that we was then over charged by £26.00. I would advise anyone who chooses to eat here to check their bill before paying. To add I received a refund after calculating each item with the waiter several times who then admitted he calculated incorrectly.
