Where to go to eat on a Saturday night in Hawick for a change. We hadn't been to an Indian restaurant for quite sometime so decided to give Sultaan's a try. The restaurant itself was fairly quiet however there was a constant stream of people ordering and collection takeaway. The food was excellent. After the poppadom tray we waited quite a while for our main meal however that is usually a good thing. It was well worth the wait we really enjoyed it.

We normally have takeaway from here and it’s always good to Last night we had a sit in meal and it was excellent couldn’t fault it staff we very attentive will definitely be back

The delicious, food both vegetarian and meat and friendly, attentive service compensate for the rather scruffy surroundings and lack of atmosphere. Worth going

Had an amazing meal at Sultaans this New Year’s Eve, food was amazing. Service was spot on, gave us some time between courses and finished with a lovely complementary drink. We will continue to go as we have never once been disappointed. Happy new year to all the staff

We decided to have our Christmas lunch here. The food was excellent. Varied choice. Authentic food, very fresh and tasty. Service was brilliant. Were given time between courses making it a lovely relaxing day. Highly recommended.

We poped in for a curry after reading the reviews on here. We are touring Northumberland and the Scottish Borders in our motorhome and had a need for something spicy. We weren't disappointed, the food is excellent and simply one of the best curry's weve had in years. Ignore the plastic tables, the focus is on the food and service.

Dont be fooled by the plastic tables when you arrive, Sultaans focuses on the food and boy have the got that right. Just had one of the best curry's I've had in years. If your within 50 miles of Hawick youd be stupid to miss this place.

Had a good indian style chicken biriyani from here. Service was nice. Overall satisfied. Flavours were ok. One suggestion is that can be a little bit of more spicy. And if you would like a good place to hangout and have food in the area it’s one of the good restaurants in hawick.

Not only is the food at Sultans fantastic the staff and delivery team are extremely friendly and would recommend this restaurant for eating in or even take away if you are staying in Hawick. Personal favourite is the korma. Food is always so fresh and very delicious! My new favourite curry house!.

Called in for dinner rather than cook tonight. Had a huge pile of poppadoms, two curries, 1 rice and 1 garlic Nan. Small coke and large coke. £46.50 We had quite a long wait as the kitchen was busy but the food was piping hot and delicious. Manager did apologise and offer free drinks. Portion size was ok for us but bigger eaters may need a rice and Nan each. It’s not a fancy place but it’s friendly and the food speaks for itself. If you want complex flavours then I’d definitely recommend trying here. Go for the Khata meeta balti in lamb or chicken it’s amazing!

I had worst experience from here in my entire life. The staff is behaved very badly. They behaved me with racial words. They didn’t allowed me to sit in. They were asked me extra money for siting. Very nasty staff

Had a fantastic evening at Sultaans.Food was delicious and very reasonably priced There was so much choice on the menu and Sultaan and Ali were very helpful in giving recommendations. We had a lovely meal with complimentary sambuca / baileys to finish the evening off perfectly. We would highly recommend a visit and will definitely return on our next visit to Hawick.

Regularly use this restaurant as there is a large varied menu and have enjoyed everything I have tried. Diners should not be put off by the exterior and interior decor which leaves a lot to be desired!

Wonderful food and a friendly welcome.

After a drive of 6 hours visiting family I was ready for a meal. The restaurant was empty but not surprising for a Wednesday night. I asked the waiter for his recommendation and it was delicious. Highly recommended.

Fantastic food/polite staff and great value. Can’t ask for more. Definitely my new favourite takeaway. I have stomach issues and means I cannot eat a lot of spicy food but the korma is definitely one I can handle. Nothing seems too over spiced. Thank you all 18/4 ❤️

We were visiting Hawick for a couple days and found only this Indian open on a tuesday so we phoned up to book a table for 4. Upon entering initially we weren't sure as the place was small, quiet and tired though the flooring was very nice. I was informed they are doing a small refurbishment and only had fitting the flooring the day before. There was plenty of drinks option though only 2 selections of beers (both indian beers). They have a very extensive menu. We opted for dishes from their signature and showcase dishes as they were unfamiliar. We had ordered 4 stsrters 4 mains 3 rice and 3 naans. All of which were plated beautifully and very enjoyable, each unique and full of different flavours. The Maître d' was very professional and attentive pouring our drinks as well as asking whether we would like a pause between our courses. Overall an excellent experience albeit the tired look, hopefully with their refurbishment their decor will match their standard of food and service. Thank You for a delightful evening.

I order from here on a regular basis as find its the best Indian food in and around the borders and we've tried a few! Used to just get the same things over and over but have started branching out and trying different things. The sag paneer is beautiful, lots of flavour, I started ordering it as a starter but now I sometimes get it as a main meal even though I'm not a vegetarian as its so good! Tried the mixed samosas for the first time and you can tell they are homemade, very fresh and tasty. Naan breads are always soft, my favourite is the garlic and cheese naan and its always plenty garlic and plenty cheese. If your ever stuck for what ti get then the lamb tikka green goan curry is to die for!! Whilst it looks a bit strange when you see the colour of it the taste is phenomenal! Hint of mint in it 🥰 Customer service is fantastic and nothing is ever too much for the guys that work there right down to the delivery drivers. I can be quite fussy about spiciness but they take the time to recommend things and will adjust dishes according to your tastes if possible. Have sat in on a few occasions and had the same level of food standards as the takeaways and same for service! Can't fault the place.

Terrible. Worst Indian food I have eaten in the UK. Lamb balti firstly wasn't a balti certainly not like any other balti I have had in many other restaurants. Five small pieces of lamb, and the rest of the curry was full of potatoes, cabbage and courgettes, tasted awful. The special naan had no chicken in it as advertised the naan was horrible and wasn't fresh very old. The chicken pakora was also equally bad. The decor was old, cheap, dirty and depressing, Hawick use to have good Indian restaurants sadly they are terrible. Never eat here again vile. Update Further to their reply I have left many reviews for a variety of businesses some brilliant, some good and some bad so it's very clear you have failed to read all my reviews. I give an honest review of my experience and have travelled extensively around the globe. The whole point of a review is to rate your experience and let others know. If you want to serve such bad food and then turn around and say bad reviews can damage small businesses them it's pretty simple do better food. Just because your an independent business doesn't mean your allowed to get away with serving bad food. There is many small businesses who work hard and serve good food those are the ones who deserve customers for the hard work they put in, your restaurant is poor in decor, dirty, and serving bad food, and adding vegetables that aren't common in curries like courgette and cabbage it's not my fault or anyone elses if you choose to serve bad food And add to the fact it's taken you months to reply to this review only shows bad customer service. I would also add that my reviews have had over 121,000+ views, and my pictures over 660,000+ views and I have 42 followers and I certainly have been fair and honest with all my reviews.

Food was cold. A lot of grease on the top of the curry. Prawn puree had an awful aftertaste. Won't use again

The food on this occasion was just above average, I've had takeaway previously which was much better, the only thing that spoilt the dining in experience was that the restaurant was very cold certainly a lack of heating

Food here is superb, probably one of the best curry houses I have been too. Flavour was superb and the portion size was good. Only downfall is that the restaurant looks very bland and the plastic seats are very hard and uncomfortable.

3 of us went for a meal on a Saturday night. We were not disappointed. The pickle tray had 4 dips with crunchie poppadoms The onion badgies were delicious to be honest one would have been enough as they were big. The mixed hord'oeuves beautiful flavours first bite to the last. The special murgee masala was flavoursome with tender chicken. The Lamb Shashlyke was amazing huge amount on sizzling platter. Our veggie was very happy with her vegetable jalfrezie another huge portion This meal was excellent with good friendly service Few Cobra beers and a bottle of Prosseco to wash it down. The Chef came out to see how we enjoyed our meal. He very kindly bought us a drink. I would Thouroughly recommend this restraunt We will be back We returned for the Thursday night special meal this was equally as good great food for £14 for 5 courses Great to see they had Kingfisher Lager. Keep up the good work

We booked into the Sultaans for a sit in meal. Staff are very friendly and the menu selection is very good. A good beer and wine selection too. Service was good and the food excellent...the evening was rounded off with a complimentary Bailey's, will certainly visit again when next in the area.

Great meal tonight with some friends and we all really enjoyed our food and beverages served by a really friendly waiter / chef who was covering all the bases on his own. Very tasty and freshly prepared food kept us well fed and happy along with a few cold beers. We were told this was a good venue to try and we weren’t disappointed. Would definitely visit again when up In Hawick.

The prices were unreasonable, there was nothing special about the food ( some of it had no taste) and we were charged for hot tap water and lemon 🤦‍♀️🙅‍♀️

We came to Hawick for a week away and had an Indian takeaway from Sultaans, it was amazing flavour and portion sizes were large, would highly recommend this restaurant one of the best Indian meals we have had thank you.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. Myself and my Wife were getting married in Hawick in early June. We were have difficulty with our venue providing food for our guest the day after our wedding. This was told to very late on So we were scrambling for a place to accommodate 28 adults and 4 children. We contacted the owner and he was fantastic from the start he was able to arrange to have the venue to ourselves, and manages to set all comfortably even whilst adhering to the guidelines of 3 bubbles/8 people per table. This was 8 days before wedding so we were pretty stressed. The food ws fabulous, everyone got a fantastic starter which was almost the size of a main course, Then every table was provided with an array of dishes which would please everyone. Everyone had a portion of rece each along with large amount of poppadum's and sauces. The food was of the highest quality and he allowed us to play our own music playlist that from Spotify. Pricing was brilliant and i wouldn't hesitate eating here again if i ever were back in Hawick I'm sorry the review is late. Thank you, you gave us a brilliant night

I had a takeaway meal from Sultaans last week and I have to say the food was absolutely incredible. Tasty, lots of flavour, big portions. Delivery was quick too and very reasonably priced for what you get. I will definitely be going again
