Simply isn’t very good.. I’ve had a few great meals in the Clay Pit but I’ve had as many poor meals too.. I’ve just eaten a chicken korai which on the menu is listed as Spicy and it simply wasn’t.. to me it was a poor medium chicken curry with added green peppers and onions. Sorry guys it was less than ordinary.

Went to Rahils for a fabulous meal last night. We were treated in a very friendly and respectful manner. The staff could not do enough for us. Two of us had the Jaipur chicken, which was divine and had a bit of a 'kick'. I can thoroughly recommend it. My husband had the chicken shashlik bhuna, which was also fantastic. This is our favourite curry house in the Vale for both the service and the food. We wouldn't go anywhere else.

Outstanding food, friendly staff, and great value for money. Always our go to place for Indian cuisine. What a great little takeaway to have in Penarth. Every time we go we’re greeted with a warm welcome and excellent service.

This place USED TO BE quite good. I don't know what's happened to it! I had korma & my husband a "Chef's Special" lamb dish. Both were exceedinly lacking in taste. In fact I've never had such a tasteless Korma in all my life. Was the sauce out of a jar? In fact I've had korma sauce out of a jar that tasted better than this! The chicken had not been sealed. It tasted of nothing. We had half & half rice & chips. The chips were unpleasant to say the least. Absolutely no taste! We asked for vinegar to go with our chips & were given a shaker that had about a 1/4 inch of vinegar in it. Not enough for the chips served. Poppadums were OK & there was a good supply of the usual accompaniments to go with them & all the food portions were good sized. My glass of red wine was fine but they dont serve non-alcoholic beers so my husband (doing the driving) just had water. And (finally) the service was intrusive. Waiters kept coming over to clear our table when we weren't ready to finish eating. We didn't bother with dessert or coffee. We were done & dusted in less than an hour & couldn't wait to get out.
