Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, it’s got to be worst curry we’ve ever had and we’ve had some bad ones. But this was the worst one, the curry was just chicken in tomato soup. NO FLAVOUR! We asked for a balti and it was runny and had to ask for it to be thickened wasn’t any better. Garlic naan was bland and hard. Popadoms we’re stale. Service was good and fast but food was a massive let down. Will not be returning again. We will stick to Birmingham.

Got to be the worst takeaway I have ever had!! I don’t have many, but just moved into the area, and was desperate I had no food in! Never again! Tasteless I had chicken tikka , it was tough , dry no taste at all , sagaloo wasn’t Seasoned and the nan bread had no taste wither..absolutely appalling for £17.40!!!

Chicken tikka masala Ordered as a takeaway, tasted only vinegar, no spice. Tasted weird. Telephoned to complain as it was inedible even the colour was psychedelic, sauce thin and watery. Asked to mention this again when we order another takeaway. No refund offered. There won't be a next time. The whole meal went in the bin. Other meal mixed balti also poor though edible just. No prawns. Pompadoms nice. Overall as first time customers Never again! First time ever leaving a bad review

We had to wait over an hour for our food and there was only my friend and I. I did have to go and find the waiter to ask how long the food would be. When the food arrived it was very poor, the lamb was tough and chewy, the rice and chips were cold, the aloo gobi was cold with mainly large pieces of hard potato and the nan bread was cold. We weren't asked if we wanted more drinks and he didn't once come to the table to ask if the meal was OK. Very disappointed and when we complained he wasn't interested. He just said they were busy with take-aways. Another table walked out before meal arrived due to wait. What we got charged was disgusting. Will not be going back.

Food was great and service was ok. To be honest good food but their service needs a bit of work. Its not good to judge who is paying. Shame its the only thing that they could do with improving.

Don’t be fooled by the outside which is down an unassuming walkway, as inside is beautifully decorated with contemporary styling. First visit to Llantwit Major and pleasantly surprised to find narrow streets and quirky buildings. Decided to give Jaipur a try - service was good and food nice and tasty with big portions and plenty of meat. Just be aware they don’t serve alcohol but several pubs nearby to have drink before or after. Would recommend Jaipur

Fantastic takeaway - well above expectations. The tarka Dahl and cauliflower bhaji were outstanding, chicken tikka also very good. Lamb tikka a bit tough and dry otherwise it would be 5 stars. Definitely recommended.

DISAPPOINTING 😡😡😡 ..... One sauce suits all. I ordered chicken dupiaza which the menu stated was “medium cooked with onion & green pepper” .... the sauce was tasteless & I had 1 piece of pepper. My husband ordered chicken bhoona which looked and tasted remarkably like my dupiaza. NEVER AGAIN .... This was a celebration meal & a total waste of money.

Staying in a caravan park nearby so don't know the area. Came upon the Jaipur and decided to order a takeaway. Food was really tasty and well cooked, the only thing that let it down was the paratha, unfortunately it was a frozen store bought one, as someone who cooks Indian food including parathas, this was a disappointment otherwise we would have rated 5 stars!

We regularly order takeaways and have never had an issue, good friendly service great food and always on time. I popped into the restaurant on Monday and ordered food for 14 people to be delivered on Wednesday at 6pm. The food was delivered on time, piping hot and the order was 100% Correct. Everyone commented on how good the food was. Thanks to all the staff for making our evening. Regards Tony

I have just had my 2nd takeaway, and I have eaten in the restaurant some weeks ago. The food is first class and piping hot,I cant make a single negative comment..Their takeaway service is the best we have ever had, they give you a time and they keep to it, plus the delivery drivers are really pleasant..Great value for money...

Had a takeaway from here last night. The curries and rice were passable but needed re-heating BUT the keema nan had little filling, was tasteless and soggy and the poppadoms were inedible as they tasted of old burnt oil - obviously the oil isn’t being changed in the fryer! This is their opportunity to offer a service that will encourage customers to return but we WON’T.

We have been here numerous times over the years and have normally had a great take away.This time however the staff were slow inefficient in taking the order and when we got home and ate it it was terrible.The meals had very little meat in them and had also been through a blander as they tasted of nothing.Will not be going back here anytime soon

The food was absolutely stunning and authentic with delicious tasting dishes. I will definitely go back and try other dishes on the menu. Not from the area but chose this as passing through to pick up my daughter. Was not made to feel immediately welcome on arrival to the desk, with a bit of a wait before we gained eye contact from one the team.Once we were acknowledged, we were quickly shown to our seats in a beautifully decorated restaurant. The Seating is designed to be nice and intimate which was lovely to be able to chat privately.Our waiters were very nice, one was not so up to scratch on the menu, but they were all very pleasant, chatting about chefs from our area and menu choices.Very reasonably priced and I got a pink rose a it was Valentine's Day - nice touch!Will be going back as we don't have great Indian restaurants in our village.

Went in on a Friday night we hadn't booked a table, we got told to take a seat whilst we waited which was fine.Only to have to couples come in after us who hadn't booked to be seated before us! Terrible service and won't be returning.

Although tucked away a bit in a corner, the staff were friendly and the food was excellent for my tastes (chicken jaipur, cauliflower bhaji, pilau rice). I have been before and the food was good then too, as were the staff.

First visit for some time looked very inviting. Service excellent although waiter a little unsure about the dairy content of dishes on the menu (which does not have a key to indicate potential allergenics).Food was mediocre to poor. Whether it was contaminated by dairy products I dont know but I have been ill ever since. Will not be returning.

Bought the Chefs Special Takeaway tonight very disappointed. Was a regular at Jaipur and decided to have a takeaway first time in 2 years. The Tikka Massala main was a few pieces of meat in a bath of red liquid and the Lamb Bhuna tasted like a stew.

Stopped off at this Indian as was camping near buy .was impressed food was the best I've ever had anywhere service was good small blunder when bringing the food out got the rice and was waiting and waiting for rest then one waiter looked over and went running out for the rest lol but would go back again as food and service was good other than than that but it wasn't really a problem

L’accueil est bon, bien que nous ayons eu beaucoup de mal à nous faire comprendre des serveurs, entre leur accent indien et notre accent français. La décoration est classique. La carte est classique aussi. Les plats sont bons mais, comme toujours au royaume uni, très sucrés. Le restaurant reste ouvert tard, ce qui est intéressant.

Have been here several times this year both for restaurant meals and takeaways. I don't know if there have been new owners in the last year or so, but Jaipur is much improved. The food and service is excellent now.

My wife and I enjoyed a great meal here Sunday evening, can't fault it, food worth every penny, the staff very friendly and helpfull. We had the set menu for two and would recommend it.

Great service, icy cold tall pints of Cobra, and last but not least, marvelous food. Can't complain about anything at all. I can't remember the name of the vegetarian dish I ordered but it was fabulous. Definitely worth the stop if you are anywhere nearby.

I have been eating Indian food for over 40 years and this is without a doubt the finest Inian/Bangladeshi restaurant in South Wales. Why are poor reviews on from 2018 ? The staff are always accommodating and the food is second to none. I eat in or have takeaway probably once a fortnight and I have never had a bad meal. Rick.

We had curry here last night. The curry was watery and both dishes were missing a substancial amount of meat. Just slices of chicken. Staff looked as if they would rather be somewhere else. Coming to pay man was more interested in answering phone for takeaway than serving us. Poppadoms and nan nice althought not much in the peswary nan. Not coming back as only indian restaurant in cowbridge and their stadadrds have slipped.

Nice friendly atmosphere, good authentic food. Nice relaxed evening out. Good choice of drinks, alcoholic and soft.

You can never go wrong with a meal from here. I'm vegetarian and my partner eats meat. The menu always has food that we both enjoy. The quality is always fantastic and all of the staff are friendly and helpful.

Stumbled upon Jaipur but had a great meal. Food was very nice and reasonably nice. Staff were very friendly too. I would definitely eat here again if I’m ever in the area.

Having had a superb day out booked table for 8 o clock for 7 arrived at 8, by 9.30 still no meal so arranged to change to a takeaway which thet did, On arriving home we found the meal was not as we ordered the the sunday roast gravy was hotter than the curry meals were not as ordered and paid for. When we made a move to leave a plate of rice appeared?????no other meal just one plate of rice . As for me my chicken pathia was not even a medium curry and not the right colour, tasted bad. Not going there again Staff were rude and rushed to get us to order {why} and no word of appologies

We enjoyed a tasty evening meal here, perfect for warming up in the winter. The staff were attentive and helpful, and our food was all delicious. We'd all tried quite different curries and each was yummy and full of flavour.

Went last night with my husband's work mates for an evening meal. Understandably there were around 20 of us, however we had booked way in advance and the restaurant was empty all night so not at all like they were rushed off their feet.

WOW! Ive actually never tried this indian up until now even though I live in llantwit major but I am so glad I did! It was the best curry I had ever had in my life... me and my boyfriend decided to get a takeaway and I ordered the the south indian garlic chilli chicken which was incredible with mushroom rice and Bombay potatoes. A portion as big as this would usually feed me for 2 days but I ate it all in one siting which is not something I usually do. My boyfriend had a chicken madras which he demolished too because it was so nice. 3 days later I took my mum for a sit down meal and the food was equally as good and the service was exceptional too. The waiters are clearly all family or are close as there is a really nice vibe in the dining room. Will defiantly be ordering again soon.

went to pick my son up from cardiff airport last sat calle into llantwit major first for a drink then went for a meal in the jaipur very good service got a table quite quick food didnt take long and it was great value for money one complaint they changed the table napkins from linen to paper otherwise good

Went here last night (24 june) for my friends 30th birthday, we thought we would all go here for food first then pop into town to carry on the celebrations.

Me and my friend visited this restaurant last night, it was very busy but the manager made sure we had a table! We were promptly seated and the drinks order was taken straight away. After looking at the great menu I decided to have the king prawn starter and the vindaloo. Both dishes were excellent, the vindaloo must have had two full fresh chicken breast cut in to lovely chunks! The vindaloo was very very tasty and didn't blow my socks of from the heat which is a good sign for a tasty vindaloo!Will definitely go here again! Thanks for a great night

Ia this the best curry I have ever had? No. It was a very delicious curry and all 4 of our party would recommend it. The garlic chilli chicken and saag paneer were deemed favourites. Great atmosphere amlnd surprisingly classy inside. It looks a bit interesting when you walk down the side alley, but you will be pleasantly surprised. Great service too.

Last year I had takeaway from Jaipur and it was passing decent for a small town Indian. The naan was crispy and the curry was pretty nice. The same can not be said this year. I got the madras, rice, and garlic naan. The only edible part was the rice.The order came out 3 minutes after ordering, never a good sign. The naan is still doughy. Honestly, I thought they went to Tesco for the naan it was so awful which is actually unfair to Tesco. The madras, if one can call it that, is more like a horrid cafeteria style tomato soup than a curry. I get far better curry at a supermarket than this overpriced travesty. Highlight of the night was the cobra beer while we waited.

Phoned up and book a table for a late dinner.Upon arrival we're told that the restaurant was closing and when we enquired as to why,our waiter started arguing us and tbh was quite rude.He then agreed that we could order take away instead.When we got home ready to indulge in our curries we were surprised that we received hardly any chicken in our curries. Therefore resulting in us paying £10 for some rice and masala sauce. Not impressed!

I haven't ordered food from this resturant for sometime, decided to have a takeaway on Saturday evening, when I looked for my usual meal the Chef's recomondation had changed, so I orderec a different meal. When I got home the curry was cold I had to re heat it and, it was hunt the meat as most of the curry was onions and it didn't taste of curry it was very bland. This makes me wonder if it's new staff working there, as the curry used to be excellant. Also the hygene rating has gone down to 2.wan't be ordering another curry from here as £6 for a curry with hardly any meat was expensive.

Has this restaurant be taken over by new management? Had a gurka curry takeaway. Rang the order through for pick up, was told 20 minutes, got there in 10. When I got home 2 minutes away it was cold. The curry was bland, didn't taste of any spices, hardly any meat, mainly onion, not worth the price for the amount you get. When I got to the restaurant notice the rating on the door was "2", if I had known that I wouldn't have ordered the food over the phone. My wife has done a food and hygiene course and wouldn't eat anywhere with a rating of "2".

Thee restaurant serves good Indian food. It is conveniently located in the centre of Cardiff. So, it is a good choice for Indian food lovers.

Usually have good food from Jaipur when we go. Had a takeaway last night and was truly dreadful. Chicken tikka tasted chemically and the butter chicken tasted like gone off cheese. Have complained but no reply. Very disappointed

A little bit clicky, lots of personal questions from the waiters, just found it awkward, good was alright, can't fault that, just rather if I was spoken to by a waiter - the bosses son I may add... and I wasn't asked about my relationship my job, who's paying the bill and genuinely strange awkward comments. I won't visit again because it's just awkward.Thanks to the chef for the food as it was faultless. Just awkward. Sorry to leave a bad comment.

Delicious food and friendly service. Curry tends to be on the mild side, so I ask for a little extra spice ... then perfect! The décor is a little *old school" but that's OK.

Does not cater well for large parties/ groups. Okay if max party is 4-6. Staff not happy to answer questions when food is taking a long time to be served over 2 hrs in this case.

Where to begin.... A bit disappointing really. We frequent various Indian restaurant's and tonight we chose Jaipur as we where heading to town afterwards. Prices are average for the area, portion size is not. We where gutted when the tikka main turned up and it was literally 6 chunks of lifeless, spiceless, reheated boringness. The korma fared a little better but only just. Rice.... Wow. Usually a portion of rice is enough to share between two? Not here, literally a ladles worth. Same for the chips, we are by no means troffers, but we ravaged through the meal due to the long wait on what we thought was a quiet evening. When the cost of the meal was taken into account compared to our near empty stomachs... Value for money this place is not. On a positive note all staff friendly and helpful, if a little over-attentive at times.

We triedhere on Saturday, and were shown to the table orders taken quickly, but starters took a long time. Main course ok.but could do with some more umph or spices.Paid and left only to find that we had been charged extra 15 pence for half pint as against pint.Shant be back.

Visiting my cousin and his family. A surprise visit from Scotland. We have had Indian meals all over the UK and in several overseas locations. Four people had four different main meals from the menu. They were all first class. My own, Chicken Madras, was probably the best Madras that I have ever had. Swilled down of course with ice cold Cobra lager. The staff were super friendly and happy to stand and chat between courses. I doubt if they would be interested in home delivery to Scotland, but one thing is for sure, The next time We are back down in Wales, we will be visiting the Jaipur. Excellent.

Visited on 27th July. Had not booked but no problem at all. Excellent attentive waiters and service. always extremely polite. Food was very good with both starters and main course. We met a couple we knew in there and had a conversation with them for about 5/8 mins. no pressure from staff and left alone.Meal was served promptly but without pressure to complete.Never been anything but fully happy with this place.

I visit my sister and Mum frequently. I live in North Wales and whenever I go to Llantwit we often visit the Jaipur. The food is really good and the staff so friendly. Love to visit the Jaipur and would recommend

Having almost accidentally ended up for the night in the beautiful village of Llantwit, we had our evening meal in this restaurant. Despite many of the usual names cropping up on the menu, it's definitely NOT the usual fare. We weren't hugely hungry so went for sharing a butter chicken, pilau rice, and Peshwari naan, all washed down with some chilled Cobra beer.The chicken was most, tender, and tasty, while the sauce surrounding it had the expected spicy butteriness, on a tandoori-flavoured base, with delicious overtones of coconut andf fruit. It's definitely NOT what I'm used to in most Glasgow curry shops, but was a delightful surprise all of its own. The Peshwari naan was also fruitily delicious. Service was fast and friendly, and we exchanged a bit of banter with the waiters (Ah, the Scot abroad!).A nice ending to an eventful day.

We often eat here or get a take-away. Food is generally very good and quite quick service. Staff seem to have changed recently and on this visit not as friendly as usual. We used to have a discount card but apparently this has been discontinued unfortunately. Always have to ask at least twice for water to drink in addition to our drinks!

Me and my girlfriend had a great night here. The staff are really friendly and couldn't be more helpful in terms of customer service. Alongside this the food was full of flavour and tasted so much fresher than your standard takeaway, I had the garlic chilli chicken which was superb. If you are in the area I would recommend a visit! we will be going again.

Not our first visit. Unusually quiet for a Saturday evening. Food was good especially the spice bites which is a starter for 2 people. Recommend the Bengal meal, not particularly hot bot a nice blend of spices. Wine reasonably priced. Staff attentive but not obtrusive. We will return to try other things on the menu

I've eaten here a few times and the foods always been great but service a little slow Ordered a take away last week. Was told it would be an hour to which I replied, "an hour? I'm going to be with you in 5 minutes". They replied with "okay half hour". I turned up 5 or so minutes later and within 5 or 10 minutes I had it in my hand. Very pleased with that!! Each thing I ordered was fantastic!!!

It really was the very worst food I've eaten from an Indian!Cold, Reheated Frozen rubbish! I could have eaten better from Tesco!Curry just tasted off and full of cream. Everything else felt reheated.I've been there once before it I'd have scored that 3.5 / 5 this is a clear 1 / 5 as it was awful.I won't be going back

Food is always good and of a high standard. We regularly enjoy take aways and eat in on special occasions.

Restaurant was very pleasant and clean and the staff were delightful and friendly however the takeaway food I collected was a big disappointment. Whether it was because it was a non busy Tuesday night or something I don't know but my korma was like yellow whipped cream with chucks of chicken in it, there was no curry or spiciness to it. The sheek kebab for starter was mushy as if it had been frozen and defrosted. My husbands Jalfreezi was also lacking flavour. We were most surprised as we had eaten here before and it was better then. Won't be going back unfortunately.

We ate here as a family group of 9. The food was really good and the service great. It always adds to the experience when you have that fun loving waiter tending to your needs and giving everyone a laugh. Would recommend the south indian garlic chilli chicken.

Took my daughter out for her birthday and again, Jaipur deliver a great meal.If you are looking for the new wave of pop up bistro chic boutique Indian cusine then go to Cardiff. The Jaipur in Llantwit instead does Traditional "British" Indian food and does it very well indeed. Great staff, great service, reasonabley priced and a nice family atmosphere.Shared spicy bites stater for 3 ... delicious!Thanks guys, keep up the good work

Brilliant staff, service and food. They have Cobra on tap too for that perfect addition to a curry. A very nice seating area with a strong elephant theme in the decor.Also good as a takeaway with a nice waiting area.

Went to this restaurant for a birthday meal in December mid week, restaurant was quiet and take always slow. Food was very good, I would suggest if you like your curry hot and spicy ask for a little extra spice as I think the chef may be a bit apprehensive about making too hot, my palate prefers a slightly hotter curry, overall very good indeed. Would definitely go back and the waiters were great.

We had dinner there on a Saturday evening, the restaurant was full and most customers looked like coming from the neighborhood. Food was so so, not quite authentic or the Indian food one could find in London. But i guess not many options in Llantwit Major.

Always recieve wonderful food in the Jaipur. The service is always hit and miss with food being thrown down at the table and feeling like your being hurried through your meal. Food is lovely mind! No complaints about that!

We decided to have a take away while staying at Llantwit Major, was recommended by a local the Jaipur Bangladesh & Indian restaurant, first was a very warm welcome, second extremely clean, thirdly the wait wasn't too long and fourthly it tasteless really lovely. Well worth a visit

Situated in a very pretty Welsh village not far from the coast, this restaurant was surprisingly good. I started with the prawn puri. I have definitely had better (the filling of the unleavened deep-fried Indian bread was rather tasteless). For my main course I had chicken tikka (excellent and moist) a plain nan (about as good as I have ever eaten, brilliant) and a saag/ palak paneer (paneer cheese and spinach) as a side dish. That was not good (overcooked and definitely reheated). The atmosphere in the restaurant is excellent. The service is attentive and very friendly.Would I go again? Yes, if only to try their wonderful tikkas and nan bread!

I had takeaway from this restaurant, having previously had a sit-down meal there. The food is good and the service is reasonable. My only difficulty with the takeaway was that the boxes were not labelled as to what was in them - not a problem for me on this occasion but potentially awkward and perhaps not the best for those with allergy concerns. However, if you are looking for a decent takeaway, then this is worth considering.

Visited for anniversary meal. Staff indifferent verging on rude. Never had menus or food thrown on the table like this before. Food ok. Staff refused loyalty card even though we have had it many years. Will go elsewhere next time.

We visited here early in the evening (5.30) so that we could eat and run because we had our toddler with us and wanted to get him home to bed. The staff were po-faced and unwelcoming and not at all accommodating when I was asking for a half portion of rice for my toddler and I had to order a full size. It wasn't that they 'couldn't' do it - it was their attitude.The food was OK - nothing special - and to be honest, I felt that unwelcome and uncomfortable I couldn't wait to leave. Next time we visit Llantwit we won't bother.

Very tasty and reasonably priced food, with tasteful decour to go with it. It's the sort of place you can either go for a cosy meal with your better half or create a gathering of mates for a big occasion and be sure you will be well looked after and well catered for.

A good choice for a family night out out or an intimate meal for two. Flavours are good but I will try a hotter dish next time as I felt some dishes had been turned down spice wize. Tandori Chicken starter was perfectly cooked but paratha was disappointing. Still the best in a 20 mile radius.

This restaurant is probably the best curry house in Llantwit Major. Defo worth a trip if your nearby. I've been going here for years now and the staff are really friendly. The take away standards is also as good as the sit in food.

On the spur of the moment we visited the Jaipur, Llantwit Major. Once again we were not disappointed, the staff very welcoming and friendly, and the food a very high standard and delicious.
