Lubna's in The Vale of Glamorgan

It seems that what has always been Llantwit Major’s best Indian Takeaway has started to go down hill. Prices have been creeping stealthily up over the last two years, but without any perceptible increase in the quality of the food provided. Now we are being provided with food in the old foil cartons with the cardboard tops, which of course , contain less food than the plastic containers used previously. I have bought my Indian takeaway food from this establishment since it opened and have always considered it to be the best, but now I get the feeling I’m being taken advantage of. Yes, I know that the price of meat and vegetables have increased, but nonetheless I can but feel that Lubna’s are being a somewhat greedy and hiding behind inflation to increase their profit margins. Come on Lubna’s, let’s get back to the basics that gave you your well deserved reputation. Good quality grub at reasonable prices!

We placed a large order for a family celebration. Unfortunately it was ruined as a vegetarian curry contained chicken. Obviously this ruined the occasion. We rang to complain and they sent a replacement but all of the accompanying dishes were already contaminated on the plates with the chicken curry. Obviously just the curry on its own would be quite useless. We also no longer trust this takeaway due to the problem they have with cross contaminated. They frequently mess up the orders and miss parts of the order out or deliver cold food. If you are vegetarian or have allergies I suggest not ordering from Lubnas.

Has recently changed online platform to Kukd which now says I am now too far away. Price on website £14.95 Plus 70p service charge. Phoned up and irritable man told me to order on Foodhub instead as their website glitchy. Asked to place order directly and it felt like a reluctant acceptance even though I am I. Their delivery area. When order arrived asked for £19.95. when I queried the price there was a not my problem shrug. I reluctantly paid but Lubna's has lost my business. Food ok but not hot. Shame. Felt a shambolic experience. Checked and wasn't able to order on Foodhub

the service is disgusting worst take away i have ever had the food was cold the chicken was pink also the service was horrendous the fella on the phone was being rude and disrespect full and talking about me in his own language which i can understand i would not recommend as it ruined my night.

We have been coming here for years. The owner and staff are lovely. The best Indian food in the vale and better than anything we had in Cardiff. Consistently good. The tandoori mixed grill and saag paneer are so good.

Just had another excellent meal from this lovely Takeaway. I’ve been ordering from here from the time it was opened by Ullah Sahib, which must be at least 25 years ago. The present Team have been in Post for quite a while now and do a splendid job. Always polite, friendly and efficient, and always giving good value for money. Shugriah!

This is a nice place for a curry. The food was enjoyable. Delivery was fast and delivery driver was very friendly. Great service.

Quite easily the best Indian I’ve had ! The meat is marinated rather than just lumps of chicken like other places. Each of their house specials are different and I’ve tried them all give or take. The dewainium special and the kolapuree are the usual for me. Even the rice is amazing! Haha! Which is quite odd for me to say but most places the rice is bland. Considering we are quite far away, they still deliver to us. 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

every thing make is fantastic, quality quantity flavour, iv had thousands of curries over the years, and Lunna's to me is the best, try a kolapuree and be suprised.

The food from here is pretty good however, the service is absolutely disgraceful. This takeaway who’s job it is to deliver food in the time they state when ordered is a complete lie. Twice now we have ordered and the food has been so late we could have ordered from somewhere else, eaten and got hungry again before the food arrived. The restaurant clearly don’t give a toss as they offer no explanation except for the obligatory “he has just left”! Absolutely disgusting!

A long standing curry house in Llantwit major, doing the normal Indian/Bangladesh menu no real specialities, food arrived quickly and freshly cooked, portions were a little small but that is reflected by the price (££) The food was good but! Nothing special. Service was indifferent just wanted to take the money! For us it was a good choice but there are better takeaways around. Would we use again, no not really.

Ordered maharaja bhuna was lovely. Plenty of meat and good flavour. Service was good and arrived within the hour. Will use them again.

We choose Lubnas every time. The food is always perfect and the service on line and walk-in has always been superb. Friendly, fast and fabulous. Highly recommend.

We ordered a variety of dishes for delivery to West Aberthaw on a number of occasions. The service has been excellent with a normal wait time from order to delivery of just over an hour. The food has been consistently good and the portion sizes have been very generous. Highly recommended as an Indian Takeaway. Try the biryanis which are excellent.

We moved from Cardiff and the food in here is better than any we had there. Sag paneer is excellent. Now we’ve been here three years and we haven’t had a bad meal here. Great saag paneer. Great tandoori. Very friendly people. Some excellent vegetarian side dishes.

Here’s what just happened: at 8pm I ordered food online. At the end of the order I was provided options on collection time. I chose 8:30pm. I received an email confirming the order and the collection time of 8:30. At 8:35 I called to find out if the food was ready. The employees said “it will be ready in 15-20 minutes” (meaning they were just about to start cooking it). I told him about my online order and he first said “well we’re not fast food so how can I have food ready in 5 minutes?” I again explained that I was provided the option of times and shouldn’t have been given 8:30 as an option if it wasn’t doable and his response: “well you need to come to the shop and find out”. Obviously I asked what was the point in ordering online and he said he’d start cooking now and they’re not fast food. In my experience with this place 20 minutes means 30-45. I’m glad that they’re not fast food but just set expectations appropriately and be honest with your customers. Don’t lie and make excuses when confronted with your own failures. Hopefully they’ll go out of business and a better alternative will serve this Indian-friendly community.

On arrival itwas Luke warm and was pretty poor food. I was violently ill for 2 days. I Will never use again

Ordered on line, told it would be 45min We waited and we waited and we waited And waited The food arrived cold, chewy and congealed with oil Bread warm and rubbery were it had been sweating We will never ever get another meal from this joke of a take away

If you can get food it's very good. But we wait for 3+ hours for delivery on occasions. They couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery!

Always eat here when it comes to a Indian takeaway. Lovely food, always got and a great service. All the negative reviews I believe are when orders are placed via the 'just eat' app. Order via Lubnas not the app! You won't be disappointed.

This has to be the worst of all takeaways or deliveries. We have this evening waited for over 3 hours for a delivery, despite being told on four occasions it had already left.. they have no idea how to run this business

No somewhere I would go to purchase takeaway food. It's dirty and the food is not very nice. There are far more nicer places to purchase fast food. Thumbs down

Use the delivery service which is always quick. Good range of food, always delivered hot. Have tried many dishes & never fails to deliver!

Mini order value for home delivery is £20 but then they charge £2.50 delivery plus 50p administration free. Food came but ordered lamb chops as a side but said 4 but only three over cooked burnt chops which were hard as nails popadoms were burnt too. Rest of meal was ok but not worth the cost . Won’t be going back as seems a complete rip off

So haven't had a takeaway from Lubnas in a while thought we would give them another try. Ordered by phone and they said it would be half hour,hubby went after half hour waited, waited and waited for at least 30 minutes.No conversation from the staff to say sorry it's late etc..poor customer service I'm afraid. Food was Luke warm after getting it home which is a 2 minute drive away I had to warm my food up in microwave.Wasnt the best curries we have had ..would we order again probably not.

Now this is what I'm talking about. The curry here is great and so is the service. Awesome butter chicken and the madras was lovely as well. The naan could be a bit more thin & crispy but hey, for a small town Indian restaurant this place is on point.

We've recently moved from Cardiff and lubnas is better than any other takeaway we could find in Cardiff. The passanda and saag paneer are particularly good. The staff are lovely. They do seem slightly obsessed with no dogs signs. Llantwit is a very dog friendly place with most cafes and restaurants welcoming them in. many people want to walk them and pick up dinner en route. This is allowed in law as there is a counter between the kitchen. We will keep going back but let dogs in for pickups!

As our favourite restaurant golden spice has closed down,for the last couple of months we have been getting out Saturday night takeaway from lubnas.Each time it has been really tasty,hot and so fresh.we love it.service is good and the staff are friendly.had it delivered last night for the first time,the guy was really nice ,and it arrived on time.

I'm all for supporting local businesses but Lubnas in Llantwit Major what a disgrace you are. We always ordered from Golden Spice-never had an issue. We order from Major Kebabs and Big Sams......great food and great customer service.

I have been visiting Lubna's since last century, whenever I'm in the area. I would travel 12miles for the food. There is no competition in my mind.

It was nice like a home cooked food . price was reasonable. Staff was helpful. I think best in town.

I was a little nervous when I saw the premises but our takeaway was a reasonably priced success. My onion bhajis and chicken briyani were excellent and all four of us enjoyed our meals. A good choice if you fancy a take away. Delivery with a two mile radius. 10% discount code on website.

Always the best take away curry in town !! We use it a few times a month and they have never let us down in the last few years.

We tried Lubna's on Friday evening, we actually visited the premises and ordered our meal. The service was good and our meal quickly arrived. The flavours were good, however the sauce itself was watery. The Pillau Rice was good, and so was the Naan Bread. We were given free popadoms. We were very disappointed, and will not be visiting again.
