The best restaurants serving Indian food in St Peters St Albans East of England

We had another great takeaway from our favourite restaurant, Samrat, this evening. Excellent service, lovely staff and speedy delivery. The food is exceptional, very fresh, tasty and generous portions. We ordered chicken dansak, chicken balti, garlic chicken and garlic chilli chicken and the chicken pieces were large and plenty of it. We also had plain rice and vegetable rice, peshwari naan and poppadoms which were all very fresh, delicious and very hot on delivery. Top marks Samrat, you're the BEST. 10/10

We ordered a delivery on a Friday night which came earlier than expected. The food was absolutely amazing. Best bhaji I’ve ever tasted, mixed grill perfect combination and all the accompaniments delicious. Flavours and spices just right - best Indian food in the area !

The starters onion barges and Samosas looked like they were from a frozen packet and had very little taste. Main courses mediocre but edible, the interior was bland bright lights and bare walls, with British pop music playing in the background. Would not recommend.

Me and my good friends diddler and Robert huth has a simply exquisite meal. I’ll keep it short and sweet like my good friend Robert but what I will say is the tikka masala was just as enjoyable on the way in as on the way out.

Small portions filled half way - seriously????

Too inconsistent, quality of food at times is poor? Having to add extra charges to obtain order is a joke! This place has gone downhill this year, and won’t be ordering again, quality matters.
