Absolutely delicious! All of the dishes are so tasty, I love coming here. All of the staff are so friendly and kind as well. Completely recommend.

Great food to go along with great service and warm atmosphere. My favourite is the minced lamb along with chapati. They also offer a nice set menu for Iftar during Ramadan which is well proportioned, reasonably priced, and tasty! So be sure to stop by and check this gem out.

Best bengali food i had . Staff was really nice . BEST FOOD QUALITY. Sylheti Aloo Sandwich, had no problem and i do recommend this

I love this place, their food is so amazing and everything is reasonably priced! Must try their chicken wrap( murgh masala wrap) it's not too heavy and perfect as a snack or lunch! My colleague and I go there often for lunch pretty much every week! Must try their channa murgh curry, it's delicious! You won't regret!

It's crazy I hadn't left my review already as I deeply love Cha&Nasta, is my favourite spot in St Albans for a quick and delicious lunch and for their delicious Chas to take away. Food and drinks are super tasty, healthy and home-made with natural ingredients only, no artificial flavours or ingtedients. Staff are lovely as well: great women work here, always cheery and ready to welcome you with big smiles stamped on their faces.

Really yummy food and the friendliest owners. Nice vibe as well.

We got the masala chips and it was really good. We were given some masala tea as well and it was delicious. The owner was really sweet and all the food is homemade. Highly recommended. Definitely going back with my friends again.

Tasty , lightly spiced, freshly prepared, Bangladeshi food. We had 2 Kathi Rolls and the Chana Chat and an egg Pokota with a tangy green chutney. All washed down with a spiced Cha. Would highly recommend.

Another gorgeous lunch. All good is homemade and delicious. The fish was amazing as were the Masala Fries ! Service with a smile such a nice place for lunch .

Thursday lunchtime Summer's day and it was quiet. Staff were very friendly and lovely. Genuinely wonderful atmosphere. Apologised for delay. Prices not bad. £16 for 3 items and a bottle of water Sat outside....lovely rear courtyard

A fantastic little cafe serving Bangladeshi food perfect for lunch. I also had a deshi cha which lovely and they have a great place to sit and enjoy the food out the back. I love that they serve a number of small dishes so you can pick a number if you are hungry.

Hands down the best dining experience I’ve had in ages. The service is wonderful. Friendly and attentive. Happy to explain things on the menu and make recommendations. Remembered me when I walked in which is always a nice touch. The food is incredible. So much flavour and really nice sized portions. Delicious tea. I had the chickpea curry and it was amazing. Really can’t wait to return with friends and family.

Amazing place for a great Bangladeshi breakfast/brunch. Amazing flavours and such a great decor for the seating area at the back. They had a lot of variety of different snacks and great tasting smoothies. You cannot leave untill you have tried the Deshi Chaa and Bangladeshi breakfast. We had an amazing chat with the owner and she was so warm and welcoming. Hidden gem in St Albans.

They are so friendly, the lady we spoke to explained the cuisine with such enthusiasm and love for the food she makes, I had the chicken samosa, cinnamon and sugar Mitta Sitta, freshly squeezed orange juice and a Mango Lassi, every single item was a 10/10 they have gained a customer for life out of me On top of that they are dog friendly!

Came from London for a day out, this was our first stop as we’d heard how good it was. It exceeded the expectations, the food was truly amazing, we were made to feel so welcome. The menu recommendations excellent. Definitely coming back :)

My first time back since September and this lovely place is still fantastic. I had jhaal muri it was very fresh and nice and spicy . Also tried the Chana Aloo Kathi which was very good . All wash down with a very warming cup of deshi cha

Absolutely delicious food, and extremely friendly staff. I was blown away with my meal, which was packed with a variety of flavours. I was astounded to find out that none of the food contained sugar, cream or milk (these are often added to a lot of curries in the UK to give it a more Western taste), meaning the flavours were all natural and authentic (which was even more impressive, as my paneer dish did have a sweet taste to it). I was very full up by the end of the meal, and was very impressed with the cleanliness and friendly nature of the outhouse restaurant. As there were no nasties added to the food, I was able to share my meal with my 10-month-old daughter (who was a big fan!) Will definitely be returning in the near future with my family.

Have been here a few times and have tried different dishes each time. All have been excellent - especially the satni sandwich which is a toasted sardine sandwich in seeded bread with heat coming from chili's and you should try. Although the fish curry with a plain paratha is one of the tastiest meals I've enjoyed in ages. And the little cabin in the back is just the best space for a relaxing meal. And if you visit, get the deshi cha as it is just the best hot comforting drink.

The lovely ladies working there and so welcoming- she always remembers my name when I pop in & offer complimentary tradition tea when waiting for my order to be ready! I honestly could not recommend this spot more! My go to takeaway & I’m looking forward to enjoying your food in your courtyard in the summer months!

Delicious! We got a sandwich, wrap, two chas and the masala chips and it was all excellent! Will definitely be dropping in here whenever we're in town for a drink or a snack. Love that they have lots of great vegetarian options.

I feel very bad writing this reviews because the owners were so lovely however, the food was not very lovely. I order Bengali breakfast tali, pani puri, samosa chat, chai and jhaal muri. The food was very salty, not freshly made, potions were small. I am a Bangladeshi who was born in Bangladesh so I know what is traditional and authentic Bengali food is this food is not traditional Bengali food specially vegetables, jhaal muri and the tea was watery. I came all the way from London I was very disappointed I also felt quite sickly due to the food being overly salty. Over priced will I come back again I don't think so.

First time here for brunch, warm service from Bushra, fresh, delicious food and tea was lovely. Would definitely return.

Thoughtfully decorated bright cafe in St Albans with a quaint seating area the back, we stopped here while visiting St Albans for a day and glad we did so. Its 10-15 min stroll from the train station. The owner is very friendly and we struck up a good conversation. She recommended what we should get based on our preferences and brought us piping hot tea and snacks with a beuatiful home-cooked feel to it and packed with flavour. Would highly recommend and we would definitely visit again!

First time I have been here and I love it. The food and the cha's are made freshly to order, the seating area around the back is super chilled. The service is top quality and the price is very affordable. Will be visiting again soon...

Great little place, I kept driving past it and when I finally went I discovered a nice little gem hidden in plain view, hosts are lovely and the food, spiced tea and setting is great! Been 4 times and plan to go again.

Unfortunately didn't have the vegan options I wanted the day I went but the staff were really friendly, accommodating and the masala fries were absolutely delicious!

What a great little find. Cha Nasta is a family owned and run Bangladeshi restaurant and take away, all supervised by the friendly and helpful Bushrah. The food is from family recipes and is prepared with time and care and it is FULL of flavour but not burning heat. Bushrah can adjust it to suit if you ask. There is the option to take away, but we sat in the open courtyard (there is also a lovely, new summer house area ready for when the chills set in. Food - great, chai - wonderful, service - brilliant. Will definitely return.

We absolutely love visiting Cha and Nasta. You won’t find a friendlier place to eat and drink in St Albans, they go over and above to make sure that you have a great experience every time you visit. The food is delicious, the paneer curry gets my vote every time! They are brilliant with children too which is a big bonus.

Unfortunately I am not happy with my experience today. The first time I went it was amazing.But on this visit we as a family are in total shock. We all had a special Eid lamb dish. (7 dishes) plus drinks) 2 small and I mean SMALL pieces of lamb. Served with 2 very thin rice bread. Total price £150.00. I thought I was in St Albans not the centre of London or Paris. If I could put minus star's I most definitely would.

If you are a tea lover than you can try different variety of tea’s available. Staff here are really nice. They hv lot of food options. And take group bookings aswell . Interior of this place is amazing

We were over charged for the food. We had the Eid lamb special. The portions were far too small - one to two pieces of meat in the curry in a very small bowl. It came with two small rice flatbreads and a tiny bowl of tomato salad, which had a strange taste to it (almost as though it had perfume in it). We had been told that it would come with rice and flatbread, but then it turned out, when we got the bill, that the plain boiled rice was charged extra (£2,50 per portion - small portions and there were 7 of us - three adults and four children!)! When we asked for a little more sauce, we were brought a little more curry and the owners tried to charge us the full price for the whole meal! (The whole meal should have included: lamb curry, two rice flatbreads, tomato salad and dessert). The curry was tasty but just not enough! Would I go back again? Absolutely not!

In accordance with my visit, this is a place I would highly recommend! I was welcomed by lovely staff and delicious aromatic dishes - best catered for those who love the authentic taste of Bangladesh cuisines. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, and the aesthetics aligned brilliantly with Bangladesh’s true values. I was very pleased with my visit and I will most certainly order from here again!

What a surprise to find this hidden gem - a side alley leading to a beautiful cover courtyard garden. Authentic delicious 'home cooking' . So used to eating curries (usually swimming in oil) but this was a refreshing change using fresh spices - everything cooked from scratch - definitely no bought- in ready made packet sauces! The Bangladeshi spices were a revelation. Thanks for the lovely welcome we received too - what a lovely family. It's a shame I live in Edinburgh as I'd love to have this as my local!

Cha and Nasta is my favourite restaurant in St Albans with no contest! The staff/owners are so kind and provide the most excellent service. All the food is made fresh and tastes incredible (I especially recommend the Chana and Aloo Kathi rolls). You can order to take away or sit in - the dining area is really well designed and lovely in the sun. You must visit!

Amazing place to go if you like exotic Cuisine with a touch of homemade and coziness everywhere. The owners are amazing, always with a smile and making great recommendations! I definitely suggest it without any hesitation. In my opinion it’s a hidden gem of St Albans and I reluctantly share it as I like it for being very quiet especially in the mornings but the Owners deserve the positive feedback.

I visited Cha & Nasta, St. Alban's for the first time. This is halaal restaurant. It was an amazing experience having lunch here. This is run by family business and most of the staff is female. Food was homely and delicious as well. They have Indian/bangladeshi snacks, curries and main course. Rates of the items are cheap. They have dine-in and take away as well. We ordered Sev Puri, Papdi chat, Murugh Masala, Murugh kati roll and Pink tea. All the items were good. Tip 1 : While ordering, please do mention level of spiciness you need. Tip 2 : This restaurant is closed on Sundays.

We sat in the outside bit around the back of the cafe which was very peaceful. The staff were lovely as was the vegan chai and Beri Kathi. Thank you!

I'm not sure if this is a hidden gem in plain sight or a local legend, either way the food is beyond fantastic and only rivalled by the hospitality and service. This is home cooked food by people that care, can't recommend it highly enough!

Had a great first visit to Cha & Nasta on a day trip to St. Albans from London. The restaurant is very quaint with a nice indoor and outdoor seating area in the back. The service was excellent and the owner was very kind and provided us with some suggestions and background into their family recipes. The food was delicious having tried the Masala Chips, a few of the kathi rolls and a curry. Also the Cha and Mango lassi were a really nice treat. Will visit again!

No need to go to Bangladesh when you can taste the authentic bengali home foods here at this little cafe with an amazing back garden seating area. Foods are definitely home made by the true chefs, ladies! and when family members are servicing you, it feels as though you are invited guest at their own home. Absolutely geniune and authentic environment.

Fantastic little find in St Albans, the most wonderful Bangladesh inspired food, it's highly recommended and the service is amazing, a real passion from the owner and her family.

So friendly and delicious, freshly made food. We loved trying different snacks and will definitely be back to try the rest! The highlight was the delicious homemade tea - I had a cardamom one which is now my favourite hot drink ever, can't wait to try the rest.
