The best restaurants serving Fast food food in England

Gutted, heard so many good things about this place so decided to try it. Ordered two large cod and the batter was barely cooked, very doughy and we ended up throwing it away in the fear of eating raw flour. Might have just been a bad batch but felt like we wasted 40 quid

Most fish and chip shops pre cook the fish to provide a faster service. Gold River however only cook to order. This ensures the batter is crisp and holds the fish in a golden, crunchy cocoon. I have used this shop for over 20 years and maintain it is the best in Chelmsford. The fish cakes are also something to be tried, almost have a home made quality to them. Still the best in Chelmsford Update: Still the best in the UK. Unfortunately Gold River is changing hands soon. The owners are struggling to pay the bills without passing on the price hike to customers. It will be a great loss to Chelmsford and for me. Here's hoping the new owners can maintain the high quality that has gone before them. A true black armband day. 😭😭

I have lived in the UK for 20 years and have tried fish from many places, but Ruby's Fish and Chips is the best place to enjoy a tasty fish andchips. I highly recommend it!

Food was excellent we all had the taster menu and they were happy to swap things around. Waitress service was amazing she was friendly and the courses were served without huge waits between Good for Jordan he’s really created a brilliant restaurant with first class food

The food was great, with a little longer preparation time, but it was understandable when the guys had a lot of customers in this case. I´ve had a mixed Kebab with fries and vegetables (nr.54 from the menu, I think) with garlic sauce, and it was one of the best Kebab plates I´ve had in a long time and in a global measure.

I ordered Goulash on deliveroo about 1 year ago and the first time was very good homemade mashpotatoe and the beef goulash was very nice. After that I ordered it again and the goulash was good but they stopped doing homemade mash potatoe and they used a powder one instead very bad I though maybe they did run out that day so I tried a 3rd time and same, the beef goulash was still very good but the mash was powder. After that stopped ordering from there. Now after a long time I heard they have new owners so I just had it again and finally the mash potatoe is homemade again but not well seasoned (no salt at all guys ? potatoes love seasoning) and the portion was small, also the beef goulash is meant to be chuncks of beef slow cooked and not shreded/minced. The chicken was like so thin couldn't see it. Flavour was good overall but small portion like 2 carrots. Sorry fellas can't give more than 3 stars due to that . Paid 20 pounds and ate both dishes myself and still hungry, and no, I am not a fat bastard xD

This place is great. The food is delicious, different to most food you get in Gloucester and not just because its (mostly) vegan. Different choices and flavours. I'm personally not vegan myself but you can tell this food is made with love and effort. Plus the service is fantastic and so is the music! Only downside is not enough seats to bring my family.
