Stopped by this little chip shop whilst staying in the area (Still Rabbit Lodges). The lady said they only had small fish left, so we were astounded when she passed over two large fish and chips! Price was also so cheap! £10.90 for 2 x fish chips and 1 x peas!

Was staying in the local area, whilst renovating a narrowboat at Goole, read the reviews and my husband who is a bit of a fish and chip officianado was keen to go. I don't eat fish but he does, he loved the fish and chips, batter was crispy, chips were fluffy, food was hot, portion size generous and really good value for money, he would highly recommend this friendly, clean business. 5 stars all round 🌟

Today saturday 5th November i was passing & called in i had fish and chips and scraps and a good size portion reasonably priced & beautifully cooked and very tasty I gave the woman a lot of change she was happy & I sat on the benches near the Gaint Bradley Statue & had them & filled me up the best ive had in ages see you again thank you

Spend a lot of time in Market Weighton but have only just realised this place existed. Will be back, the are staff friendly and food is lovely, well cooked "proper" chips and beautiful fresh fish in crispy batter. Fantastic value, considerably less than another place in Market Weighton but equally good quality.

The shop is clean and inviting, the food excellent and good value for money. Covid savvy but have to wait outside so not so good if its raining. This shop is a cash only shop, it doesnt have card facility but dont let that put you off when fish and chips are just £6, massive portions and tastes good. The staff are really happy and helpful... worth a visit for your chippy tea.

Nice chippy chips - not dripping in grease or soggy. Light crispy batter on nice firm fish fillet. Friendly staff, the lady serving was lovely to my little girl.

There are 2 chip shops in market weighton, the other shop has been taken over by a fish and chip shop group who bought the premises from Harpers. The result of this takeover is evident from the plunge in quality and taste, both are dreadful.This promoted me to buy from market place fisheries.I so wish I had done this year's ago. Huge portions, staff are bonkers (in a nice way) , the quality is great and it all tastes the way it should.I travel 12 miles to go here passing 4 other chippies - that should tell you somethingLast visited pre covid,.

Amazing fish and chips. All fish Cooked to order, fish is chunky, batter delish and always crisply cooked. Chips tasty. Staff are exceptional, friendly, helpful and a smile on their face. Handling Covid19 restrictions well, no more than two in the shop at once, plenty of space to queue outside. Probably fell different in Winter in rain or snow, but worth doing for the Fish and Chips.

Amazing freshly cooked to order fish. The Cod from this chipper is cooked fresh to order. Huge portions almost whale like. Quality fish and a batter which is tasty and Cooke to perfection. Chips are fresh and tasty and plentiful. For the average person a small chips with the Cod is enough. Chip butties good value, large bap and plentiful chips.Staff are very friendly and helpful. What more can you ask for, great food, great staff and good pricing.

Have tried the other fish and chip shops in market Weighton but always return to this one. You order what you want as you go in. Then you wait because everything is cooked to order.The staff are very friendly and helpful, the fish and chips are really really good and are not expensive compared to other fish and chip shops. Very popular place. Recommend a visit.

This is the best fish and chip shop out of the two available in Market Weighton. Food cooked as you wait, with a friendly service and great value for money. Good to see you can still have the traditional option of having them wrapped in newspaper !

Went here light switching on night it was so busy ' but the staff took it all in there stride and were still polite and friendly.

Believe the one at the far end has changed ownership again however won’t be trying because when you find perfection why look elsewhere?Always freshly cooked fish, checks temperature to ensure cooked fully, then drains before being served on bed of chips in box. Usually tail hangs over end and needs tucking in. Good choice of condiments available and daily papers to read whilst waiting.Treat yourself, have a portion

Today Friday the 6th July 2018 I went to this Fish Shop for Cod & Chips To take away, this was 17.25 and waited in the queue for about 35 mins and got to the counter and went to order cod & chips only to be told they have just run out! I could not believe at this time of day they have run out, if they are running out why did they not let people in the queue know about low stock of cod! this is a poor way to run a fish & chip shop! and the woman who served me just did not care. As I did not get what I wanted I can not recommend. very disappointed.

Decided to try this chippy after going to harpers half a dozen times and being reasonably happy.haddock here is crispy and lighter,chips crispy and cooked just right.peas nice colour and consistency.friendly chatty staff.The main thing you notice is that at market place,the overall cost is cheaper than harpers. Both establishments are very good but on cost,market place edges it for me.after living in doncaster where the chippies are awful greasy and soggy,its nice to have two decent chippies in the town

Friendly, efficient, batter to die for ! I always order my two fish and two mushy peas by telephone for a Friday evening and they are always ready on time and are put in boxes which stops the fish going soggy...

Porciones generosas y pescado cocinados a la orden son siempre perfectas, el casero empanadas de pescado y pasteles también son geniales. Este no es un restaurante sino un llevar.

After living in Market Weighton for nearly 2 years and very rarely having fish and chip I thought I would try my local and they were absolutely beautiful, the price and quality were fab too, I will be back.

I have only lived in weighton 2 yrs and only just tried this one and on first time trying coming from another one in the same town (which wont be using again)must say spot on great food and the prices are so cheap compared to other one i will be using this one from now on at the other end of town but worth the walk thank you Market Place Fisheries
