Excellent food and friendly service as always. You just can’t get better than Ruby’s and it doesn’t cost anymore than anywhere else.

The food served here is superb - great choice and great quality. Staff are fabulous - really friendly and helpful and the service is excellent.

This place is amazing and the people are extremely nice and they have the absolute best fish cakes and aswell as that I will always go here for fish cakes and carefully on Saturdays as it will be jam packedat about 6 o'clock or in 24 hour format 18 o'clock

Just visiting the area and came across Ruby's Fish & Chip Shop. Fabulous F+C and such friendly and welcoming staff. The portions were exceedingly generous and the potato scallops were superb (fritters to some). The shop dates back decades and I was privileged to receive a short history lesson about Ruby's shop when I expressed interest. A most enjoyable experience which I hope to repeat in the future. I highly recommend Ruby's to you all.

We love Ruby’s Fish and Chip shop We visit often for 1 large Fish and Chips. It’s amazing value for money compared to other chips shops. The staff are always polite and efficient . They are quick in serving very organised Thoroughly recommend them. We travel a few miles from Shepshed. It’s well worth the effort

Not the usual.high standard on a regular visit. Fish was overcooked and tastless chips, this is a first for Ruby's as the standards are high and normally we would not consider going anywhere else. Maybe a bad night?

This chippy has gone down hill with the cooking the fish is mainly batter no taste in the food not like it was year's ago portions now are smaller it is a very outstanding clean shop ,it used to be the the best chippy in Leicestershire no way !!!!

We always go out of our way to visit Ruby's when we want fish and chips as it is far, far better than our local chip shops. The staff are very efficient and the food is excellent - what more could you ask for? Please note it is takeaway only.

First visit. Staff were so kind to us. The portions enormous. Chips and fish perfect. The Cypriot lady serving treated us like family. There was a steady stream of customers. Good sign. Will be back!

Andy and his team catered my wedding on Saturday the food was amazing the service was spot on from making enquiries right up to the day. Portion sizes were very generous and all my guests were very happy with the food. Highly recommend this traditional local chippy

FISH & CHIPS GREAT AS Usual. The cov-19 safety measures are excellent. The measures they have taken are 1st rate you fee safe and reassured using the shop. The staff have gone to great lengths to maintain a safe environment.

Since moving to Thringstone 11 years ago I have enjoyed many a chippy tea from Ruby’s whether it was gobbled down on the walk home , packed up to take away or enjoyed sitting in the beautifully tended patio area at the front of the shop. The family and their staff are the most friendly bunch of people you could have the pleasure to meet. Generous portions of chips cooked to perfection moist fresh fish and Kebabs that somehow don’t feel as naughty as those grabbed after falling out of a pub on a Saturday night. I am so glad to see them back up and running after lockdown they have considerately implemented the COVID measures whilst maintaining their impeccable levels of service with a smile. I can’t wait for my next visit ❤️

I often go here as just up the road, have been several times since re-opened after lockdown and measures in place are great and allow me to feel safe. Food as always is lovely and the fried chicken is far superior to KFC. I’m amazed by how many people I know who live several miles away but have been to this chippy or at least have heard about it so shows how good it is. Staff are also really friendly.

This has to be the best chippy in Leicestershire and we’re so lucky to have it on our doorstep. The food is always fresh, hot and very tasty. Friendly staff and nothing is too much trouble, if they don’t have what you want on display they will cook it for you fresh. Since reopening ,the measures they have put in place for social distancing are second to non and works really well. Just can’t wait for this all to be over so we can enjoy sitting outside on the benches again

For decades Ruby’s have been a fantastic family run business serving the best fish and chips around. So of course they have dealt with the new covid secure measure seamlessly. There is plenty of outside space to queue with appropriate social distancing and marking on the floor to show where to stand. Inside there will be about 2-3 customers at once only due to being 2m apart. There are full length Perspex screens all around the counter and a microphone to boost the sound between the Perspex. All staff are masked. Ruby’s have kept the local community informed on fb with all the changes they have made and overall is a reassuring place to eat never mind the awesome chips!

The fish and chips is so good that I never needed to try anything else. Service is always fast and friendly. What more could you want?

I like fish and chips. I've been getting my fish and chips from Ruby's for 35 years now. It is top quality with generous portions. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The shop and queuing system have been adapted to meet Covid precautions and I feel safe there. They are definitely worthy of their "Best Chippy" award, and long may they continue!

We have been going to Rubys for years. Never had a bad meal, always of the highest standard. The staff are friendly and efficient. We feel safe going to Rubys during the pandemic, as the alterations to queueing and being served have been completed very well.

Really pleased that they have reopened. So glad to see they have used their furlough spare time to complete food safety and hygiene courses as well. The rules currently in place to collect food are straight forward and comply to the governmental guidelines that have recently been set. Well done to them. Plus the food is bril as usual !

Lucky we have an award winning chippy in our village - we have regularly visited most weeks for the past 5 years and have always consistently been happy with the quality of food...People travel from far to taste the fish and chips so worth a visit...be prepared to queue for some time on a Friday and Saturday...! It’s worth the wait!

I popped in to see if Andreus and his team to see if they could assist in catering for 26 people the following day. Mum kindly sat me down with a piece of cake and a drink and this was the start of an excellent experience and superb service. Andreus duly arrived at mothers and was very helpful. The following evening I collected the food for 26 people as ordered with some ‘extras’ on time and piping hot. The team that evening worked as one, apologies to the locals who had to wait, though Mum was giving out chips to keep them going and the food was duly delivered to my team. Well as for the food, still hot, very tasty and great portions. Thank you Andreus, Mum and the team.

Fish are huge. Always queues out of the door as everyone knows it's the best chippy around. Staff friendly. Public parking opposite. Clean inside. No restaurant facilities for inside dining. Take away only. No delivery available.

I went here with the lads after a hard days work on Tuesday. We all had fish and chips. It was so delicious and filled us up. The portions are very big and the lads were all very happy with the food. If Gordon Ramsay came to this fantastic fish shop he would be very impressed. I hope you have a lot more success and can keep providing this amazing service!

The food is so fantastic that there is always a queue but it moves really quickly. Everything is cooked fresh and is piping hot. The portions are massive. Enjoy a picnic on the benches outside. The staff work together like a well oiled machine. As good as it gets!

Visited Ruby's many times over the years - always for take-away fish sand chips. Excellent quality, great portions and a beautifully presented outlet - particularly in summer when their baskets are on show. We have nearer outlets but would always make the effort to visit Ruby's.

Good fish & chips from Ruby’s. I did think the fish was a little dry but the batter made up for that, crispy and golden. Definitely not enough to stop us from having some more another day.

Ruby fish and chip shop is by far the best around Leicestershire, it's a family run business and your always greeted with a warm welcome from all the staff, the fish and chips are amazing and good value for money, have tried other things from here also pies, sausages etc, there mushroom sticks are also a favourite of ours, oh and the husbands absolute favourite the good old spam fritter, all in all can not fault rubys it's a must if your visting the area, or if you live local and have not yet tried it, well done rubys keep up the brilliant work .

I visisted Rubys with the plan to grab a bag of chips and go for a walk around neighbouring Grace Dieu.

I got 2 large fish should have got 1 A’s so big the cat did injoy the leftovers, we had 2 fish and chips and 2 fish cakes and a pie with chips mushy peas to die for and beans we did not need all the chips portion size is big but you get your money’s worth and friendly service always a que you now why because so good

Best Fish and Chip shop can't fault it. Good prices and great quality ingredients also they state what sort of fish they are serving you which is great as a some places you never know what you are eating, and some people do have allergies to certain fish. Great place friendly staff.

Decorated with floral baskets all year round, the presentation is excellent and homely - perfect on a summer’s evening on the picnic tables outside - and the legendary staff are great. If you arrive at chip shop rush hour, say 5.30-8ish, expect to queue out the door, but it’s worth the wait.
