The best chippy :-) We have recently re-located and were worried we wouldn't find a decent chip shop, but we have! The owners are really lovely & welcoming and the food is 5*.. In particular, the mixed meat wraps are so good! Definitely worth a visit.

Nice vendors but sadly the food was terrible. By the time we got our t/a home, the fish and fritters were stuck to the paper so we literally got half a meal.

Just called in for fish and chips for a late lunch. Fish was fresh and the chips were amazing. So friendly in there. It is a good drive away but worth the extra miles.

Only had a chip cob but it was very nice. The place had plenty of customers coming through but no long queue even on a Friday night when town was busy. The service was particularly friendly. It really made the experience. Will return in the future for sure.

I popped in here with 5 minutes to closing and they took my order and cooked everything from fresh. So friendly and my children said it’s the best they’ve had! Thanks you from visitors to Ashby!

Absolutely discusting... The chips reheated, the burger, well see for yourself, even the dog didn't want it...I tried the kebab meat and was worse than the burger. never again.

We had fish and chips which were gorgeous. Such a friendly service and the portions are huge which put a smile on my son's face. If we lived here we would recommend to everyone we knew.

We decided to stop in based on others reviews, travelling through Ashby on our way to Bristol from Newcastle upon Tyne - we weren't disappointed!! Best fish and chips I've had in a long time, light crisp batter and delicious chips, all freshly cooked to order and great friendly service.

These days even the street market has payment with card. The fact that a shop is always full but only accept cash is a bit "fishy".

Lovely staff, friendly and welcoming. Food is Always spot on, never had a bad meal. My kids always ask when it’s chippy day! The half chickens are lush, so is the fish. You’ll never get mushy peas like any other than from here! ❤️ 10/10 from me

This place is the best chip shop around Ashby it's clean cheap and the staff are so friendly... I personally have ocd and they even pass the fork tray over so I can pick my own . Most chippys laugh when I ask .... wouldn't go anywhere else ....

Every time I visit this chippie I’m welcomed with friendly smiles and good humoured banter from the owners. Great food and prices. My brother recommended them as it’s his favourite.

We travel from Nottingham around 25 mins to go to this chip shop/ its the best chippie meal and the prices are good, the owners are so nice, there funny and welcoming to everyone

..superb .. freshly cooked fish n chips more often than not cooked to order so everything as fresh as you get ...really light batter too and lovely owners ...recommend park up on street place your order for 20 mins ,grab quick beer from one of decent local pubs within 20 yards and have fish chips n peas on a tray and wander down high street round the block whilst filling your face

Best fish and chip shop in Ashby ! This couple always welcome you with a smile and ask how we are! There prices are so cheap compared to how much food they give you !! We have never had a bad meal from them. They definitely don’t get enough recognition! 1 million percent recommend

We our new to ashby been twice friendly staff had to wait due to covid but worth it kebabs where fantastic and so where the chips

Ashby de la Zouch is (give or take a few yards) the farthest town from the sea in Britain. So it's surprising to find one of the best fish and chip shops I've ever visited. Back in the day, I operated and drove refrigerated trucks, regularly loading direct from boats and delivering seafood across the UK and Europe. Fish was always good in those fish harbours but, trust me, Mo and Jimmy (who had his own fishing boat in Cyprus) know their business and YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! Generous portions cooked fresh at reasonable prices......so come and enjoy your fish at Ashby by the Sea!

Found this place on google as we were working in the area, couldn’t be more happier, the chips were spot on, portion size was good, staff were lovely, 10/10 for me, great little chippy 😀

First class chip shop. Loads of chips and the fish is always first class. If you order a large fish or a fish without batter, it is no problem for them. Only a 5-6 min wait while they cook it. well done

Very Slow waited 10 minutes outside waiting in the rain. Only 2 people working and 1 was taking phone orders food was nice though

Just moved to Ashby and missed our w/e fish and chips from our favourite chippy. Dropped on today and discovered the Fish Inn. The f&c are better than our old chippy. Lovely white fish and nice portion of chips. Give them a try you won't be disappointed. Thank you

Lady behind the counter is horrible and abusive towards customer's. This type of person doesn't belong on Ashby High Street.

I've popped in there twice recently only to buy chips. Both times the chips were really very fresh & the portions were generous. I can't say much more as it was only chips but I was impressed enough to give 5 stars.

This is one of the best fish n chip shops in NW Leicestershire. Delicious food, real chips (not fries). The little family who run this business are friendly and welcoming. My husband and i use this place at least once a week or so.

Visited this chip shop for the first time in years and must say was really surprised, the staff we very friendly smiling and joking, even in these time of Covid 19 they have a fantastic system where you go and order then wait outside and they shout you when the order is ready but you don’t wait very long but to be honest i wouldn’t care if u did because the fish and chips are well worth waiting for and will definitely be going back
