The best restaurants in Micklegate York Yorkshire and The Humber

Oh wow! This place hits the spot in so so many ways! The service is brilliant (all the staff are super friendly, attentive and efficient) and the food is great. You might have to queue to get a table (we didn’t as we arrived fairly early) but the wait is well worth it. I had the avocado on sourdough bread (topped mine with two poached eggs) and it was fabulous-the kids had pancake stacks….light and fluffy with the best ever berries, and the son and his OH had the eggs Royale which they usually have. Luckily we visit often from Whitby and I think this will be a regular thing. Can’t wait to try an evening session…… I have to say I’m glad to have found somewhere in York that does great food at reasonable prices as we have ditched Betty’s for good (overpriced and mediocre) and Robinson’s will be our “go to” place from now on.

Visited a few days before Xmas, it was a cold day so we were looking for somewhere dog friendly to eat inside, we stumbled upon this gem of a place, dogs allowed on entrance level, we had a few minute wait for a table but once seated our order was taken promptly and our drinks arrived, a lovely merlot wine and a lager, both were delicous, ive worked in the wine and spirit trade and I felt the choice on the drinks menu was 1st class, chosen to compliment the food and vibe of the place. We had 2 pizzas a salami and a pepperoni, our first choice the salt beef had sold out but we were really pleased with what we had, absolutely mouth watering and delicous. The staff were friendly and efficient and prices were very reasonable, will definately visit again when next in York.

Based on positive reviews I have this a try. The chicken was shredded and tasteless (reminded me of tuna) and the rest just wasn’t tasty.

Had a lovely lunch with my wife and son. I’m a meat eater but had a really tasty mushroom based meal and healthy to boot so would recommend this place to all tastes. Lovely coffee and friendly staff more than ready to describe each dish and how it’s prepared and cooked. A little out of the centre for those that don’t know York but worth tracking down. Excellent pancakes with fruit and ice cream. I’ll shall be returning. Very reasonable prices too for such a tourist trap as York is.

This cafe is so much better than anywhere in the walls and is only a few mins away from the minster! I live round the corner and feel lucky to have such an amazing place to pop into. I’ve sampled brunch, lunch, coffee, cake and the hot chocs which are incredible! More than anything though I love this place for being welcoming without judgement, whether I’m passing for take away after a walk/run, popping in with friends or hiding in the corner solo. The team are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The prices are low for the quality and they have a great pay it forward scheme. Thank you for brightening up the Groves x

¡Qué joyita más que un lugar! Entré y fui recibido por una encantadora señora sonriente que llenó el café con su sonrisa radiante y su cálida personalidad. Tomé un queso y jamón con un café con leche y mi madre sólo tomó un café con leche. Los precios son muy baratos y me gustó mucho mi croissant. Definitivamente llamaré de nuevo. ¡Un crédito a York!

Este lugar es una joyita. Excelentes pasteles, café y almuerzos, así como el personal encantador. Probamos la sopa del día en nuestra visita más reciente y no se puede pedir mejor

No puedo decirte lo fabuloso que es este lugar. La comida es para morirse, yo tenía el salmón, mis amigos tenían pizzas, todo estaba caliente y cocinado fresco. El personal era atento y servicial. Una ventaja es que puedes venir a la casa de al lado de Sainsbury para tu propia bebida, así que tuvimos vino, lo que lo hace un precio muy razonable para la comida deliciosa.

We went to collect our order from Roccos the place is very clean and tidy the food is cooked fresh I had Quattro Stagioni pizza which is very tasty my husband enjoyed his Pollo Al Peppe will definitely recommend and we will order again.

Fantástico rollo de desayuno. Estaba caminando desde Micklegate y vi este lugar, así que decidí probar un rollo de desayuno. ¡Qué hallazgo! El servicio de Chap fue muy agradable, y el rollo en sí fue increíble. Bacon cocinado perfectamente, huevo frito con la cantidad correcta de goteo. Absolutamente voy a volver a visitar.

Lovely little cafe, amazing food and friendly service. Just a little bit out of the centre of town but definitely worth going.

Llegamos para un almuerzo rápido pre-teatro mientras pasábamos y vimos el interesante menú al lado de la entrada de la tienda. Nuestros panini's eran deliciosos y las bebidas calientes se servían en las tazas más hermosas. Una taza de té que en realidad se sirvió caliente - fabuloso! Disfrutamos mucho de nuestras vistas desde la relajante y bellamente decorada zona de estar del primer piso. Tenemos la intención de volver para explorar adecuadamente los artículos encantadores en la tienda y visitar el salón de la planta superior también. Un lugar encantador!

Great food the best kebab in York by far and always delivered quickly, hot and with a very polite service. Would recommend
