In an idyllic spot at the end of a road to nowhere, the Tickled Trout combines excellent sea-food with soft beds, luxurious linen and a deep bath. Their Queenie Scallops in a scallop shell was a generous portion of beautifully cooked shellfish in an unctuous creamy cheesy sauce. The haddock in beer batter was cooked to perfection and the panna cotta wobbled invitingly in accompanying strawberry gels and sauces. Delicious wines and attentive, friendly staff made the evening a really memorable occasion. Breakfast was excellent and we would love to stay again!

Visited a couple of weeks back on a trip to York and proceeded to have what was probably my favorite dining experience. Staff were great, loved the atmosphere and the food and drinks were perfect. Great menu, great cocktails. Will be returning as soon as I can.

1 Lawrence StI absolutely love this place for fish n chips, I get haddock, which is like eating a steak, soo chunky and meaty EVERY time, the chips are equally as brilliant, I go nowhere else eva!!

18 Hawthorn TerraceFish and chips are delicious, the curry sauce was amazing, the staff are happy and friendly, we ordered 25 light bites for our care home not only did they taste amazing but the were ready on time even with a couple of extra add ons!! Thanks Eric and team we will definitely be back
