shocking service 2 hungry kids we only ordered because we have just moved house and had no food in. delivery said 25 mins at 5pm. it's now nearly 8pm and still no food. just eat is showing as delivered. I rang the chip shop and they've told me noone has been to collect my order. won't be using this chip shop again or just eat

Food was great but delivery shoddy...just eat cancelled the driver twice. Concequently nearly 2 hours after ordering. The restaurant delivered it themselves...thanks so much for that. 10/10 Heworth Plaice 0/10 just eat.

Ordered large fish but not large at all, mostly batter, not much fish, Asked for scraps, a few were scattered on the chips but not many. Ordered large curry and peas, again smaller than they used to be, really gloopy consistency and salty. Rubbish

Absolutely shameful behaviour. I was visiting from abroad and had my 3-year-old with me at the time. The staff blatantly ignored me after realizing I was a foreigner and only served other customers despite my protests. Would not recommend and a shame considering we love visiting York.

Just Eat driver delivered us someone else’s order and they got our order - Food that we did get was superb - Delivery error appears to sit with the Just Eat team - Hoping for a refund of the missing items.

Food was absolutely fine, apart from colder than it should of been. Was tracking delivery and it went by the end of our steet to possibly another address about a mile away for it to then be delivered to us, making the food colder than it should

The food was nice, but cold. The delivery took a long time and the delivery person was rude. When it came to eating the food, it was cold and I ended up reheating it in the microwave. it shouldn't take that long to deliver fish and chips.

App said it was ready but had to wait 10 minutes!

Ordered 3 times and a sausage, with two breadcakes. The breadcakes didn't arrive. The fish and chip shop said to take it up with just eat and get a refund. Sadly that was to be part of the meal. All just eat will do is refund the money. That's not the point. We wanted the bread to make butties... ah well. That's the sad thing about having food delivered. It's never consistent. Good fish mind, we really enjoyed the food that we got. Thank you.

It was great had 1/2 chicken ,medium chips ,and delicous thick gravy my wife had fish and was also impressed with hers,always find it consistenly good here and resonabably priced.

There fish and chips are less greasy than most fish and chips in the area which is why I like them. However its very hit and miss with the quality. Sometimes the fish and chips are spot on, most of the time they are really dry and overcooked, depends on who is frying.

We used to love Heworth Plaice but after two bad experiences, we’ll go elsewhere. Awful fish, overcooked and was chewy, overcooked chips and peas that tasted burnt and bitter! Utterly awful. Not the fault of the driver this time.

We always go to this chippy, and usually it's really lovely, but we have noticed the portion sizes getting smaller. We have just had our order and the portion sizes of the " medium" chips was just ridiculous, they weren't even a small size and the cod was the skinnist fish I have ever seen and it wasn't that long 😕, used to be a great chippy, but with prices high and portions small, we might have to go elsewhere 😑

£23 for 2xcod and 1 chips, portion size was poor considering how much I spent

Where do I start doesn't seem like anyone knows what there doing , young lad took my order then my order wasn't relayed onto the so called fryer ,then the fish batter was overcooked in parts and raw in others, chips were so oily and greasy and didn't taste nice at all, my dad had battered sausage, wasn't far off being black, so far overcooked and vile, wrong change was also given, will never return.

Fish and chips are usually lovely from here. Tonight, the fish was almost too stiff to cut. Overcooked. The batter was rubbery, rather than crispy. The chips were burnt and tepid, and hardly any scraps. For the price, we were really disappointed. We've been customers for years, and tonight was poor quality.

I went the second time today after recently moving to the area and I don't quite get the hype. I was very disappointed today after having ordered a lightly battered haddock which is supposed to be min 7oz. The fish was heavily battered and fried with very dry edges and I also don't think that it was anywhere near 7oz. I don't think I'll be visiting again.
