Whisky Lounge in York

we called in to try some whisky and we were very impressed and the staff very good and friendly i ended up getting a good year bottle of Whisky and we thanked the staff for a great time

The Grand Hotel is York's only 5 star hotel and it it has a five star whisky lounge. Tucked behind the main bar lounge area this cosy room has grand wood panelling, large comfortable arm chairs and an extensive range of whiskies form the everyday to the rare and expensive. You can drink other alcoholic drinks or even have tea and coffee and afternoon tea in this lounge but it is set out as a den for a slow lingering drink of an excellent whisky and a leisurely chat. A waiter will appear to take an order but they are not expecting people in a rush s the whisky menu is long and interesting. If you are going to catch a train from the station 5 minutes away, allow yourself a good hour at least in here before you set off. Or catch the next train. This is that sort of place. You can get food served too, if you must.
