Lovely and friendly, with great coffe and cake.

We have been here a few times now, the first time was over a year ago the owners remembered us just from being that one time! They are so lovely, the coffee and hot chocolate are to die for, such a friendly atmosphere and definitely better than a chain of coffee shops. Can’t wait to come again next year :)

First the good - my black Americano was good. Now the bad - my partner’s Flat white was terrible - get to a Barista class to learn about micro foam etc, the cheese stick twist was a bland disappointment. Not dog friendly (added as google maps doesn’t make this clear). Do yourself a favour if visiting the area & head to Poppleton Social for a superior, welcoming & relaxed experience.

Last week I had the coffee and walnut cake. This week it was the chocolate cake. Both excellent and washed down with the lovely coffee.

A small, clean and friendly cafe. The food was delicious and very good value for money. Perfect for a good natter with friends.

A lovely little cafe. Nothing fancy. Just coffees, tea and cold drinks with a few food options including some nice cakes. Very helpful staff. Just how a little cafe should be. Well worth a visit.

We just popped in on the off chance for a cuppa and ended up having a light lunch , ham and Brie panini and cake, which was fabulous. The place is very clean and tidy and the lady that served us, Karen, was very pleasant and helpful. It was our first visit and certainly won’t be out last.

Always service with a smile and a good range of drinks and eats. There was a group of ladies having a lovely time catching up with news and there is always the inner room for those who want to be more secluded.

Dropped into this coffee shop on our way home from Whitby. Found it on google maps, on a housing estate in a row of shops. It looked like a fairly new shop. It was clean and well presented. Coffee, cakes, sandwiches are available at a reasonable price. Coffee tasted good and the cake was too. The owners were friendly and talkative. It seemed popular with the locals. Easy access to shop. Toilets are clean. Well done.

Super little coffee/tea shop. Clean, warm and welcoming. Nice choice of cakes (home made) as well as paninis. Top quality tea and coffee and colder Fentimans drinks. Lovely ice cream in the summer months. Plenty of parking either outside or side roads

If you happen to be in the neighbourhood, I'd recommend popping into the Lemon Tree for a quick coffee. Their flat white is nicely made, with good texture and the right balance of coffee & milk. Not worth a special trip but if you're passing...

Lovely little cafe, took some finding as it appears to be in the middle of an established housing estate. Glad we made the effort, spotlessly clean served by a wonderful lady, guessing it’s her cafe. Limited menu but delighted to find skimmed milk available so my Earl Grey was perfect! Hubby enjoyed it as he had two coffees. Would recommend highly. 😋

Popped in only by chance during the school holidays . It’s very cosy and welcoming. The menu is small but had something for us. Very friendly staff and they had a high chair for our toddler. Orders made to order and drinks arrived promptly after order was taken . It’s cash only , so I popped to the nearby post office to get cash. There’s parking outside but is very tight especially if you have children to get out. So we parked nearby down a side street. A good find and would recommend . Thank you!

Never disappointed visit regularly standard of food service cleanliness superb. The owner is resident and serving in café everyday. She is a truly lovely caring person who delights in serving good and coffee.

We had a very nice panini, cake and coffee in this cafe while out for a bike ride while staying in York for a couple of days. Very welcoming and clean. Wish we lived nearer, it would become a regular eating place for us. There again, maybe it is best that we don’t, we would probably end up several sizes bigger 🤣 It was a surprise find in an unexpected place, but would recommend a visit if you are anywhere nearby.

How lucky are we to have The Lemon Tree in Poppleton! Lovely Coffee, full range of drinks, tempting cakes and a selection of lunchtime goodies. The atmosphere is great, cosy and friendly. A brilliant drop-in cafe to relax, regroup and enjoy!

Lovely little village cafe which makes a great place to meet friends for coffee of a snack lunch

The Lemon Tree is a clean and bright Tearoom in a parade of shops on a housing estate. As such, it's not a place you would naturally drive past, so unless you live locally you would have to make a special effort to come here. Having said that, it isn't far from the Poppleton Garden Centre so makes a pleasant alternative to the cafe there. The menu is limited and it is primary place for tea, coffee, cake and snacks.The savoury items are restricted to panini, soup, tea cakes or toast so it's not a place for all day breakfasts etc. As I was in the mood for a tea and a cheese scone however I was well suited and both were very good. There is a good range of teas and coffees and the cakes and scones are all home made. Prices are reasonable and the young lady running the place is charming. So for the sake of a couple of minutes detour off the A59 or the ring road - why not give it a try.

The Lemon Tree is a lovely place to go for coffee with friends. You always feel welcome and can enjoy a long chat over one or two cups of coffee and, in my case, a very tasty cheese scone. The decor is simple but stylish and there is a good ambiance.

Lovely place with a relaxing atmosphere and knowledgeable staff. Great selection of drinks, paninis, snacks and cakes. The soup is lovely and the ingredients are always top quality.

The lemon tree in poppleton is a hidden gem right in the heart of the village serving coffees teas and cold beverages and paninis or homemade soups with warm rolls. Always welcoming sit outside in the sun if it's out!

What a fantastic place! I never knew this was here before but got in touch with Karen regarding holding a baby shower for my colleagues who had just moved to Poppleton. The cafe is very cute and bright and well decorated with a lovely farmhouse feel. Karen was so helpful and couldn't do enough for us! She did a beautiful afternoon tea all made by herself and presented with care and attention. We had the cafe to ourselves and decorated it how we liked. It was perfect and all the food was delicious 😋 thank you so much!

This is a really nice amenity in our village. Close to the shops and the hairdresser so a handy place to meet friends of to have a relax. The homemade cakes are a delight. Watch out for the chocolate cake and the ginger cake - you'll want more

This café, in the heart of Poppleton, is a wonderful 'find' - a veritable 'oasis in the desert'; there is always a friendly welcome and excellent fare at good prices. I have called in several times already and there will be many more visits. The café is light and bright and has a nice relaxing atmosphere. Try it for yourself.

We held a baby shower for my daughter at The Lemon Tree. Karen pulled out all the stops to give us an amazing afternoon.

I really like this cafe. It is a massive asset to the village which I visit regularly either for a soup at lunchtime or for a coffee and catch up with friends. Thea atmosphere is so friendly and even if you go on your own there is always someone to chat to

Whether you live locally or are visiting the area I would recommend The Lemon Tree. Good selection of cakes, paninis and soup, as well as tea and coffees. Lovely room in the back ideal for families. Easy to get my electric wheelchair through front door. Nice people. Yorkshire quality; Yorkshire value. It's also great for the community. Give it a go!

The atmosphere at the Lemon Tree in Poppleton is warm and friendly- nothing is too much trouble for Karen, the proprietress.

This café opened over a year ago and I have passed it many times but perhaps because it is so near I have never been in. This was a mistake. The café is light and airy, the furniture modern. We had coffees and cakes, the coffee is as good as any and better than many whilst the Victoria cake was excellent. The prices are reasonable. The menu is small, teas and coffees, soft drinks, cakes. scones, soup and paninis. There is a small playroom at the rear for young children. The lady who runs it was helpful and pleasant. We will certainly visit again.
