absolutely lovely all round, staff very friendly and helpful and the food was great i had poached eggs on a rosti with spinach & bacon and it was delicious, the coffee was was really nice too. highly recommend to anyone who wants a very good breakfast x

The kitchen Osbaldwick is my favourite breakfast/ lunch eatery without a doubt, the staff are so warm and welcoming and just the general ambience of the place is very chilled and relaxed. My go to has to be the kitchen club sandwich or the fruity granola bowl both absolutely beautiful. Must say since the renovation, the new outside terrace part now is such a nice added touch especially in summer sat outside there watching the world go by with one of there iconic smoothies absolute bliss .

Forget Robinsons, the kitchen for me is the best, for a warm welcome and great food at very reasonable prices and parking close by it’s our fave cafe in York! Kitchen bagel is absolutely unreal and the club sandwich not far behind followed by a bake for afters !

The food was exceptional , and the friendly staff make it a pleasure to go in! The recent refurbishment provides a great atmosphere to sit and enjoy! Will be making this a regular stop from now on, keep up the great work!

This place has been a breath of fresh air since opening in york. The service is always outstanding and the cafe has a real family feel to it. The food is unbelievable and since the re-furb and the addition of the milkshakes we can't keep away. Would reccomend to anyone.

I drove up from just outside London early this morning to a factory close to The Kitchen. The cleanliness is what hits you first. This cafe is impeccably clean. The breakfast certainly hit the right spot. And the service matched it. Well done ladies.

Came here for a breakfast after checking out Google maps for a local cafe near to the Black Bull on Hull Road. It was also a good opportunity to check out the area again, having attended the local primary school as a nipper. We were greeted by staff cheerfully and served promptly, despite the kitchen cooking for a photographer taking photos of the food for their online presences. Food was delicious, decent quality and a fair quantity for the price. The cafe is small and did feel a bit crowded as it got busier, but that wasn't an issue persay. The only issue encountered was parking but it's evident this has become a problem as cars have gotten bigger as the car park was full of vans and 4x4s, but would have easily managed lots of smaller cars. Overall? A wonderful little cafe for a decent breakfast served with a smile. Definitely recommend.

The kitchen is a lovely place to go if you’re wanting some delicious food and a great atmosphere! The food is unreal and there is always great specials on the board to choose from! Very friendly staff, all round great experience.

We had a cooked breakfast and an eggs benidict with a latte and a cappucino. Good quality ,well cooked and presented food. What a find, great tasting coffee using a local supplier. If you haven't been why not?Independents need to be supported

Hands down the best cafe in York! Such a nice environment away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city centre too. Food is 10/10 and the service is also top. Regularly order online for delivery and always receive food on time and as good as in house.

Recently reopened following refurbishment by the owners, this cafe is definitely worth visiting. Breakfast, lunch, coffee and cake, there is something for everyone and the food is really good quality. I can definitely recommend eating here. It is very friendly and welcoming too.

I ordered the club sandwich it was class really tasty and really reasonably priced . We also ordered the tripe burger which was on par with something you would get from five guys for a fraction of the cost! Coffees are really good and the sweet section of bakes we had a corn flake slice and a Mars bar cake was unreal! 100% recommend

By Far the best kitchen place in york, lived here 22 years and never had a better sandwich. My Mrs’ had the full English and they were the BEST hash browns we’ve ever had. Proper grub and the staff were absolutely class! Lovely place for family, friends, on your own or going to get a coffee while doing work!

They accepted my order, then repeatedly changed the expected delivery time. After informing me that my items were on the way, they then cancelled the order. Two hours after accepting the order. Busy day at work, their inefficiency meant I went without lunch when they should have declined the order if they couldn't fulfil it. Or perhaps they could have show enough common curtesy to make contact. Things happen, ignoring customers who have paid is poor business sense. Rude.

The staff are always friendly here, the food is great, and it's really good value. There's a good range of food available, and you can taste how fresh it is too.

I was out of town with work and found this suberb café, so glad I did as the food was outstanding and the service was 5 star. I had my meal and coffee in hand within 5 minutes. Unique setup with proper cooked healthy meals. Thank you.

We were staying with a friend in Osbaldwick for a couple of days so called in to the Village Deli for lunch one day. When I think of a deli I visualise somewhere a little on the exotic side selling cheeses, cooked meats and tasty Italian or Mediterranean treats. What I found was a fairly standard cafe selling sandwiches, paninis, salads and the like. The food was ok but nothing special. Same goes for the coffee. I'm a bit surprised at the plethora of five star ratings as it really is nowhere special. A decent little cafe but nothing more.

Called in this morning just for a cup of coffee with friends but when we saw the menu board and the food we were tempted to have breakfast. My wife and I had the eggs Benedict, it was great and good size portions. The staff running it were so helpful and nice it made me envious of those living in Osbaldwick. The nice surprise was that it was dog friendly, great at last a Deli that is aware of the shortage of dog friendly eateries in York. As a dog photographer and dog owner the Village Deli will be one that I will highly recommend.

Usually visit this excellent deli during the daytime so thought I should try one of their additional events ; this one was a curry night. Its a small intimate affair,which adds to the whole delight and charm. Selection of starters and main courses, cooked by your hosts Graham & Carol, are very flavoursome, tasty and well presented. The 2 girls helping with the service were also very friendly and attentive. There's no licence so you can bring your own alcohol but make sure you book well in advance as spaces are limited and it would appear the locals snap up the spaces quickly.
