Cafe Frida in York

Lovely little cafe, amazing food and friendly service. Just a little bit out of the centre of town but definitely worth going.

Best cafe in york! the staff are so nice and inviting, the food and coffee are outstanding and the general vibe with the cool decor and art is exceptional. Massively recommend.

This atmospheric cafe, on the main walking route from town leading up to York University celebrates great south/central American cooking; brunch and the fab Frida Khalo. Our breakfasts were cooked from scratch while we waited with coffee and peppermint tea. The decor includes art for sale (I love this in a local cafe) and some very Frida-stylish armchairs in the space near the loo. We went here on the way to my daughter's graduation ceremony at the uni! So it was a special breakfast. We loved the food - a selection of Mexican breakfast; rancheros scrambled eggs and a lot of specials (menu is partly in Spanish, just ask for help if you need it). It was delicious. There were four of us eating and we were all delighted. Bill ws £12 per person. I would very gladly eat there again. Thank you Cafe Frida.

This is by far the best café I have visited in York. The coffee is fabulous and the food is absolutely stunning. All the dishes are freshly cooked (the burritos and "sandwiches" are superb). Lovely, friendly staff and an excellent range of pastries. Truly a hidden gem!
