Burns the Bread

Glastonbury St Benedict's, Mendip
30/10/2021: This Bakery sells the most delicious lamb and mint rolls (they look like sausage rolls) and they taste heavenly. I have never had or seen these anywhere else. If you’re in Glastonbury you must visit and try these, yummy!
04/10/2021: Pastry Making Course. Great fun, covid-safe & brilliant direction ensuring all that attended took home lots of tasty wares! A very tasty lunch and all refreshments included.

The Market House Inn

Glastonbury St Benedict's, Mendip
25/10/2021: Booked a twin room for myself and my young son, upon entering the pub I noticed a sign saying food was served until 9pm which was great as we’d had a late lunch. Tried to park in the tiny car park at the back but opted for the abbey car park across the street as it was a bit of a nightmare (I’m not the best Parker though to be fair!). The staff are very friendly and we were shown to our room, the bathroom wasn’t connected to the room but was for our sole use, bit inconvenient but it was very clean and nice. The rooms are a bit dated and tired and the bedding could really do with an upgrade, I’ve seen thicker kitchen roll than the quilts! The room was an ambient temperature but I can’t say I had a particularly warm or comfortable sleep. Couple of mugs and a kettle with very basic tea/coffee provisions but no glasses! We only stayed one night which was ok, it was a Sunday so not too loud downstairs either (can imagine weekends being very loud). We tried to order food at 7.15pm but were told they’d sold out. Luckily we discovered a fab place in town and ate there. Wouldn’t recommend it as a family place to be honest. Was good value for money though I guess and there’s a side door so you don’t have to walk through the pub to get to the rooms.
20/10/2021: Went for a midweek carvery on the back of a suggestion. The carvery was lovely good selection of food very nice to be able to help ourselves again at last. My Yorkshire was a bit over for me as it was black on the bottom but otherwise my meal was beautiful. The staff were lovely and very accommodating and service was very speedy.

Knights Fish Restaurant

Glastonbury St Benedict's, Mendip
21/08/2021: Best fish and chips we have had in along time, even my mum couldn’t find fault . The fish and chips with a tipple, in my case a Wilkins cider £12.50 all was good value for the quality served. Pleasant environment and the staff were lovely.
11/08/2021: Called in as all restaurants were full and found this by chance. Very polite staff and quick service. I'm not sure why people call it expensive? We had a knights special which is fish and chips pot of tea , bread and butter with tartare sauce for £11.95 for a sit down meal that's cheap in my opinion. They do kids meals which are a good size too. Recommended.
