A very affordable bakery in downtown Glastonbury with 2 locations downtown. Treats for under £2. The sausage roll was average, not delicious.

Omg, so good! Great little bakery on High Street. They have a satellite shop down by the Abbey too. Great baked goods. We had the cinnamon bun and almond croissant.

Me & my wife travel to Glastonbury as often as we can for the ambience & general feeling of wellbeing the town has in abundance, NO trip is complete without a visit to burns the bread. We enjoy many of the cakes & savouries on offer but without a doubt our favourite is the Easter biscuits, I am SO glad they sell them all year round as the cinnamon treats are the BEST. We've always had excellent service from the friendly staff & my only complaint is they don't have a shop in my home town, I can understand the Isle of wight is a bit of a trip so I'll just have to keep coming to Glastonbury.

Traditional bakery in the heart of Glastonbury. The pasty’s are high recommended and have a distinctive taste. I also ordered the traditional Glastonbury cake which was very sweet and wholesome. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Glastonbury

Really enjoyed shopping here for my lunchtime sandwiches whilst on holiday in Street, I also tried the tray bakes (the blueberry and yoghurt flapjack was a favourite with our group), Great value for money and lovely staff. Whilst I didn't need to buy any loaves etc they all looked great! Definitely calling back if/when I return to Street.

Awful experience on Saturday, I'm registered disabled and have to have my service dog with me at all times , I walked in to buy my lunch and a treat for my dog and the older lady very abruptly told me to remove the dog immediately, I of course explained the reason why he was wearing g a huge reflective jacket with all his markings on was because he's a medical dog , she said sorry it doesn't matter he'll have to wait outside , I didn't want to get into things but I explained that I'm.pretty sure you can't do that pretty sure it would be classed as discrimination, but needless to say I cancelled my order and took my business elsewhere, terrible guys you ruined my day , and I hope the staff member involved never is in a position where they'd need a medical dog and would be treated like I was

I bought the cheese and broccoli pasty. Coming from Cornwall my expectations was low and it was even worse tasting. Could not finish it even though it was small, was more of a croissant than a pasty. Very dissapointed.

Our go to place for grub in Glastonbury. Always great value, great grub and wonderful service.

Very unfriendly staff. I had to pay extra to heat up a pizza. I strongly recommend this business if you want good quality and good service.

Love this place, used to come as a kid years ago. Getting a beautiful hand crafted and baked ginger bread man makes me feel 10 again, thank you guys.

Sweet little bakery. I was pleased to discover they had some vegan options - I enjoyed their vegan sausage roll, very delicious. My feedback would be that I would love to see them expand on their vegan range, to make the bakery a more kind and conscious choice for consumers ~ reducing their contribution to animal suffering and lowering their carbon footprint.

Again, the item's price increased 10 pence within 14 days. Great ! I am not sure why the increase is not made more deliberate and leave the increase for a while. This affects the taste too,

After reading all the good reviews, we had to give this place a try. I got a sausage roll and my wife got a bean roll. I know this is a small sample size, but neither of these rolls was anything to write home about. My sausage roll was taste less, kind of like some you would get at the gas station and the bean roll was not much better.

Fantastic bakers shop. I visited the one in Wells and the one in Glastonbury. The vegan Cornish pasties are sublime.

Some people have a 'thing' about wine, others about cheese, others about bread. I'm in the third group. A few years ago, I bought a loaf from Burns the Bread in the High Street in Glastonbury. It was, to say the least, beyond perfect. I was there, again, this Monday, so I treated myself to an 800g granary tin that cost £2.80 (yes, that's right; I had HIGH expectations for that price, as I could purchase the same at Asda for £1.30). To say I was almost in tears when I came to eat is it an understatement. The 'crust' was wrinkly soft and the entirety too firm, tell-tale signs of an old or stale loaf. Having cut off ALL 6 crusts, I came to something that would be deemed barely passable after two days given a bog-standard loaf. This 'Burns' loaf had NOT, I repeat NOT, been baked the same day and was being sold from the previous day's leftovers. I can tell, I just can, because I have to have real, fresh bread. The only positive is that I took a closer look at the Special Bread section in Asda today. I bought a 400g fancy soda and kalamata olive loaf (£1.95). It was gorgeous and HAD been baked there that day. Needless to say, I'll be going through the rest of that Special Bread section. Burns the Bread in Glastonbury is now a farce. AVOID at all costs. And, to be honest about these reviews, the vast majority of the negatives have been written by the same illiterate idiot who can't even end their comment with a basic full stop. Have a look; they're all the same. Ignore those. However, my review is genuine. (See; there's the full stop!)

Burns the Bread simply sells delicious baked goods. And that's it. :D I've known them for a couple of years now and whenever I visit Glastonbury I enjoy one or another thing from their bakery. Absolutely delicious!

Found this by accident strolling back to the car from the Abbey, The sandwiches available were such good value compared to where we live, fillings were large. Tried a couple of cakes as well - delicious

Fabulous cakes and pastries. The Eccles cakes are delicious. As too was the carrot cake, apple danish, Viennese finger and the pasties! Crisp pastry. Just out of the oven.

It would be rude not to get something from here when in Glastonbury! Service is always very welcoming and friendly too. 5*

Had a wonderful day learning at their School of Baking producing bread and pastries. The freezer is now full of pies, loaves and pasties. Eccles cakes are going down fast. Many thanks Bob and Bex for such a warm welcome, patience and help.

My partner and I treated ourselves to a slice of carrot cake and an iced chealsea bun, that we bought around 11am (on a Wednesday) - You'd assume on this day/time it'd be super fresh... Instead both tasted like they were made yesterday, which was incredibly disappointing considering the price. There's better options locally for less money, from the experience we had. Unlikely to go back and try again considering this experience. Parking is really difficult, so only go if you're planning on paying for the nearby carpark.

This bakery makes the best whole grain bread ever! I truly wish they'd move to San Diego, California.

This is not a restaurant... It's a bakery and they make the most delicious rhubarb muffins, which we like to think are a healthier option :0} Nothing more to say... Except, leave us some for our next visit ;0)

I’ve used more than I should really. I think it’s to hit and miss, I wish shepherds was open still. There’s a wider variety of cakes in Morrisons. Why do people shop in this over priced bakery? The sell yesterday’s pastries first thing in the morning and charge the same as fresh. Very reluctant to shop here again!!

Friendly staff here, great cakes, shortbread, fresh loaves of bread if quick enough too, pizza slices are nice and their fresh sandwiches are excellent, it's a favourite for me, well priced too

Really nice bakery. Only issue is the Glastonbury pasties used to be twice the size and £1.50 cheaper. I've just had my last one ever. I'm not paying £2.50 for a near mini pasty!

Popped into here for a quick takeaway of sausage roll, pasty & doughnuts. A great traditional bakers with great tasting food. Sausage roll & pasty were nice & warm & packed full of filling. Noticed they also do a fab collection of vegetarian & vegan savouries. Great 👍

Burns the bread is a proper old style shop , not many left nowadays. Everything is lovely and quiet often run out of certain things " sign of a good shop in my view.

Absolutely the best bakery we've visited for the whole package!!! Amazing choice (vegan/gluten free/regular diet) breads, Buns , filled sarnies, savoury pastries, cakes, sweet pastries! The cherry Danish and bread pudding - oh my goodness just delicious! Staff so friendly. Prices more than reasonable! Such value. Just discovered there is a shop in Wells too so will be visiting tomorrow 😀

Really tasty filled rolls which was just what we wanted... Also a couple of the best loaves we've had for a long time. Friendly guy serving who offered to slice both loaves...

I was purchased this for my birthday, what an amazing day. Very educational and the amount of bread and treats taken home at the end of the day was fantastic. I learnt how to make the most amazing bread. Bob and Anne were brilliant.

We visited about a week ago, and was met with a ratty older lady with minimal customer service who didn't even say hi, which made us feel more of an inconvenience than a welcomed consumer. Anyhow we ordered two pizzas both of which tasted ok but were stone cold and a chocolate muffin that was quite boring in flavour, so neither of them are worth the money, I don't recommend.

Burns' Glastonbury pasties are legendary. Rightly so! Affordable and quality food.

This Bakery sells the most delicious lamb and mint rolls (they look like sausage rolls) and they taste heavenly. I have never had or seen these anywhere else. If you’re in Glastonbury you must visit and try these, yummy!

Pastry Making Course. Great fun, covid-safe & brilliant direction ensuring all that attended took home lots of tasty wares! A very tasty lunch and all refreshments included.

Delicious, family run bakery - high quality ingredients with real care and attention. A real gem of a bakery, reasonably priced and tasty.

So, we have been coming to Glastonbury for over 10 years, and a trip is never complete without having a good munch at Burns. This normally involves savoury, finished with something sweet. This year's treat was vegan sausage roll, two of them. Neither of which disappointed. The vegan sausage rolls have always been top notch here, and today's were also really, really good. No doubt, we will be visiting again next year.

Quaint small bakery in the heart of the High Street. We had bacon savouries and pasties which were filling and fresh. The Choc devil slice was delicious and the fruit and seed slice was the best flapjack/granola bar that I've had. Well worth a visit.

I always visit Burns The Bread when in Glastonbury, there are many tasty vegetarian and some vegan options. Coffee is great too! Almond croissants are out of this world! Ditto the vegetarian pizzas! Mmmmmmm! Yummy! Can't wait to go back!

Stopped off on the way back from our holiday. They do gluten free muffins which were so so good, had to be one of the best gluten free muffins I’ve had out. My boyfriend had a bacon savoury which was served warm and tasted amazing....

It's great that some places are beginning to offer vegan options. However, there were only 3 options in the afternoon, and the iced cinnamon bun, although moist and soft, was not up to my taste buds. Vegans, try this place in the morning. They *might* have better choices. Friendly staff though!!

I've been around the world and never been to a better bakery. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I can't recommend this bakery enough.

Great range of cakes, pasties and sandwiches. Always stop here if I'm only wanting something small to eat. Very reasonably priced and always hot. Particularly love their vegetarian sausage roll or the brie and cranberry sandwiches. Helpful and friendly staff too

Every time we visit Glastonbury, one of our first calls is to Burns. Bread is great, sausage rolls are very good, cakes are lovely. Basically the bakery is the best, wish we had one at home. Friendly staff. Can't fault it.

We tried the Lamb & Mint pasty and was not disappointment, also had the Cherry Danish and was really tasty, the carrot cake was nice but I can say I have had better. Friendly staff and fairly priced - COVID SAFE.

Great place for a snack. They have a gluten free (though it is made in a wheaty environment) and vegan food! Best muffin I've ever had- it's how I would imagine wheat muffins to taste like!

We ended up going in to get a bite to eat for lunch and got 2 x coffee's and 2 x Pasties, which were quite small ... tasted ok , but not great!

Mixed view good croissants and breads but we no longer buy mediocre cakes and buns. Closure of an essential service ignoring the needs of the public they serve is an unforgivable dereliction of duty. What if all providers of essentials like supermarkets .followed their example ?

Outstanding products, but always has been in my mind why staff touch the products with their hands. They handle money touch their face nose bacteria is everywhere and after touch your bread. I think staff should be trained to not touch anything with their hands anyway.

We'd been advised by several to try the local bread and were confused as generally, when visiting a tourist spot, many don't recommend the local bakery. When we tried the corn bread, we could understand why! Absolutely delicious!

Hot, tasty vegan sausage rolls and spelt pasties at competitive prices and the young man who served me was very polite. However, the other staff were sullen and made me feel unwelcome so that’s why I’ve only awarded 3 stars.

Delicious, wholesome flavours, excellent range of choices, and a convenient location right in downtown Glastonbury. Parking on the High Street can be iffy, but the car park is conveniently nearby. Not to be missed!

When we go to the Glastonbury Carnival we look forward to visiting Burns the Bread for the muffins that have differant flavours and nicer than supermarkets offer. Tried the mince pies this year and these are very good. Good selection of other bakery items.
