Tasty Middle Eastern food with a twist. The restaurant is cosy and spacious. The service excellent. The food overall tasty with some of the dishes extraordinary (loved the hummus, falafel and asparagus with broccoli and ricotta). The Queen's salad would not appeal to everybody, however a couple of us loved this too. The batata hara and monkfish were also very flavourful, but not as impressive. Pita bread was nice when warm but turning chewy as it cooled off. The wine list is interesting. The whole menu is reasonably priced for the quality of the food. I will definitely return and recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Highly recommended - for variety and quality of food, brilliant serving staff who were very accommodating to our last-minute additional requests to an already packed private dining room birthday party booking: I'd eaten here a few months previously so it was my first choice when asked where I wanted to celebrate a milestone birthday. Flavours and dishes you will be unlikely to have encountered anywhere else: relaxed, happy atmosphere. We all had the Queen's Feast and were all too full for dessert: bravo to the chefs, kitchen and FOH staff who prepared and served 14 feasts to an immaculate standard, at the right temperature and with a smile and cheerful disposition all day!

We had an okay meal, nothing at all worthy of the price. The food came out in a bizarre way. We ordered 4 dishes to both dip into and enjoy the combination of flavours. The last dish didn’t arrive until everything else was finished so we ended up with a cheese block and nothing to eat it with. The waiting staff seemed to be relentless… just ask and ask and ask more drinks? Any dessert? Any dessert? From a different waiting staff, more drinks?? I get it we only had a slot then our table was rebooked. We ended up leaving half hour before our reservation was done because we couldn’t just talk without constant interruption. The food itself was ok. But nothing I would really go nuts for. I’d been given a voucher as a gift and it wasn’t really a relaxing experience. Such a shame I’d heard so much about it and was excited to try it.

We really enjoyed our first trip to The Queen of Cups today, and will definitely go again. Lovely front of house staff who explained how the menu worked and seated us at a good sized table - which turned out just as well when the sharing plates arrived as they were all a generous size (unlike the 'one carrot and a bit of herby crust' that you end up with in some popular places). We have been trying local Bib Garamond rated restaurants and despite seeing the negative reviews regarding the service standard we thought it couldn’t be that bad and the food would be worth it. Sadly we were wrong, the food was fine but we were left 30 minutes between some dishes and lost our disinterested waiter completely halfway through dinner. To top it off when we finally got the bill we were told twice service was not included and it was up to us how much to tip. I love food but the awkwardness and service just is not worth it. We had hardly seen our server all night and as he was folding napkins on a Saturday night busy shift rather than seeing his tables. I hate leaving a bad review but I really wish I had listened to the other reviews saying to stay away until the service was sorted.

I only knew about this place from seeing its chef Ayesha on Masterchef, and being intrigued by her Middle-Eastern/North African inspired flavours and combinations. The menu sounds enticing on paper. My friend and I booked well in advance and drove an hour to Glastonbury for lunch here. The restaurant interior is quite appealing, with plenty of space and wood. It was buzzing with customers as well, of the well-heeled middle-aged local type. The chef's selection "Queen's Feast" started off well with some chunky pink turnip pickles, an intriguing watercress labneh dip (the za'atar pangrattata was a revelation I will be copying), a superior hummus made interesting with cured lime paste, and some delicious charry flatbreads. I'm sorry to say though that these were the only two things my friend and I really enjoyed. The next course was grilled Nabulsi cheese with Persian black lime honey. It was a lot less interesting than it sounded, being basically a sort of fried halloumi drenched in extremely sweet honey with black bits in it. Next up was the "Hibachi-grilled" merguez lamb sausage. It was way too salty. There were also long waits between dishes. The final dish of crispy hogget was the worst. Firstly the presentation was very unappealing: everything was brown and pureed, looking like baby food - or worse. I imagined it would be a grilled piece of hogget but it was basically a fried breadcrumb-coated shredded hogget sausage. The celeriac puree was incredibly salty and sweet and just plain odd, not to mention an unappetizing brown. The plate was ringed with blackish blobs of something else which we couldn't even work out from either the taste or the menu. This already meaty and heavy dish was accompanied bizarrely by a skewer of heart. Way too much meat with nothing green or refreshing to cut through it. The menu mentions shatta in several dishes, a spicy red or green chili/herb condiment which I was looking forward to. How disappointing to find that here at least, shatta is nothing more than overly spicy pickled shreds of chili that tasted as if they came straight out of a jar. This eight-dish menu cost £33.50 each, which was expensive considering we only enjoyed the two dips. And sorry but I don't think a tiny dish of turnip pickles constitutes a dish in itself. The kitchen really needs to work on presentation. All in all, not worth the money or the one-hour drive. Maybe if I was local I might give it another try and go a la carte. But I certainly won't be driving an hour to get here again.

Hi, like others we went after seeing Ayesha on TV, we order the Queen Feast to share for 4 people, it would be useful to show on the menu what this feast entails. We started with cold dishes and bread which was fine, then nabulsi cheese, the sauce was lovely but the cheese rather bland and rubbery. The spicy potatoes which were tasty were nice but didn't have a crunch you'd expect for being fried. We then had the hagget which again was ok but not a large portion. After our meal we noticed that another table had a sausage course so I asked the waiter who realised that he had forgotten to bring it. He said he would get it now but we declined as we were ready to leave and had finished the meal. He said he would adjust the bill. The wine was good but at £37 a bottle you'd expect it to be. When we received the bill two soft drinks were taken off which didn't equate to two portions of merguez at £8.75 each unless they were going to serve 3 sausages to 4 people. We had to question the bill again and got £10 cash back. So of review is okay food but not value for money, service needs attention and place was chaotic. A feast for me means more than two meat dishes.....

excellent flawless food sadly let down by uninterested staff who spoilt the whole experience - we walked in excited, ready for a special birthday treat - the 2 staff at the bar and 2 waiting staff, also at the bar, didn’t even say hello, instead deciding to just walk away as though were not there. When we did get seated, there was no explanation of the menu and it took ages to even get a drink. The staff seemed, rude and pre-occupied with each other - looking at their phones and chatting to each other. The food was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and we would love to come again. Booked the day before, having watched Chef Patron Ayesha, on Master Chef. We were not disappointed. Bright restaurant with colourful art to match the bright, colourful and delicious Middle Eastern food. We enjoyed a delicious lunch of Iraqui pitta and hummus, merguez, an Arabic cheese, similar to halloumi in a lime and honey dressing and the star of the show, the roast Jerusalem artichokes with pickled foraged mushrooms and ricotta. A good wine list and friendly service. On our way out, we spotted Ayesha and were able to personally thank her for the fab lunch. Definitely a regular stop from now on!

The food is excellent, with a really flavoursome hummus and moist and delicious falafels. The queen of salads is a real treat too. The idea of a Middle Eastern mezze is very appealing. The front of house team are knowledgeable and helpful, so all in all it was a very pleasant experience, except for a couple of points. The quite ordinary wine is definitely overpriced, but my main niggle, nay 'annoyances', was a customer who thought bringing a large dog which insisted on barking loudly, almost continuously, was a good idea. Stopping it barking didn't seem to enter their minds. The staff chose to move them to one end, but this didn't stop the barking. In my opinion, they should have been courteously asked to take their dog home. As somebody else has mentioned, the 5 minutes of fame is just that. You can't live on your laurels forever. You have to live up to them and I think the Queen of Cups is falling a little short.

If I was reviewing on the basis of food alone, I'd give a solid 4 or possibly 5. The dishes were exquisite and good value for money (I'd heard it frequently said that the restaurant is expensive, but I don't consider this to be fair. I feel I'd have paid a similar price at a good quality Indian restaurant). The service was friendly and warm and the venue itself is pleasant. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by a number of niggles. Before even arriving, I was tired of being harassed by SMS. I did not give my consent for this. The worst was receiving an SMS telling me I was due at the restaurant in 30 minutes. This is incredibly patronising. I'm not a child. I have a calendar. I know my schedule. I'm capable of arriving on time. I appreciate they may have an issue with no-shows, but this isn't my problem and doesn't give them the right to make free with my phone number that was given in good faith. The booking form gives the option of a "private dining room". This is no such thing. We were in a room with at least three other tables. It's not a point I'm particularly fussy about, but my partner is autistic and struggles in noisy environments. It was a huge disappointment and panic for her and completely changed the experience she was expecting. While the service was warm and friendly, it was chaotic and disorganised and the staff felt rushed. I was very confused regarding who was actually taking our order and it seemed the staff were too. After ordering and receiving nibbles, it seemed we were forgotten about. I would say though that this felt like a management problem rather than an issue with the staff themselves, who all seemed very pleasant and hard working. The menu had banquet options for meat eaters and vegans. I'm vegetarian and was very keen to try the dishes on their menu containing cheese. This seemed like an odd and dismissive oversight. I enquired about the vegetarian option, and the waitress said I could always swap dishes out. The dishes that the banquet contained weren't even listed so I have no idea how this would be achieved and the process just felt messy and not customer-friendly, so I gave up. The menu itself was also slightly confusing with no obvious dividing line between small and large plates (large plates weren't actually indicated, but the waitress mentioned them - is the distinction the price?). Again though, the food can't be faulted (only the potatoes felt like something I could easily have thrown together at home). I'd revisit, but with lowered expectations, particularly around service.

We first came to The Queen of Cups in September last year when they agreed to host and cater our Handfasting reception, which was an unforgettable experience, and now it is a must that we eat there every time we visit Glastonbury. The food is full of flavour and every bite brings something different. You can tell that chef Aisha really loves cooking and she is so creative. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with an open view of the kitchen and a lovely outdoor area. Everything is clean and well presented and the hosts are very patient and attentive. Eating at Queen of Cups is not just s meal out, it is a very unique eating experience. Produce is locally sourced which fosters great community and there are plenty of Vegan and vegetarian offers on the menu.

Delicious food, amazing spin to middle Eastern food. They even have gluten free bread which taste delicious. Good service with a smile, cordial setting. Need to book a table to make sure you got a place. Would recommend it as relaxed dining experience

Came after seeing head chef on master chef and we weren’t disappointed flavour wise! It is pretty expensive though for the chefs tasting menu / portion size ratio so that’s why have given 4 instead of 5.

Having seen Ayesha on MasterChef and salivating over her food as it was served to Greg, Marcus and Monica we decided to drive the hour to Glastonbury to try things for ourselves. It was delicious ... the restaurant was completely full ...every table taken so the kitchen was working v hard. Service was excellent, the atmosphere was good. Thank you

Wonderful, interesting food. We loved the grilled cheese with lime honey and preserved lemons. Sweet but with a bitter note of lemon to counter. We were a bit annoying and asked for some of the dishes to be broken down into their constituent elements so that we could share with our 5 year old. We needn’t have bothered as he wolfed it all down, especially the amazing hummus and bread. Will definitely revisit and try more of the veg dishes next time. The potatoes looked delicious. Welcoming cosy place, really accomplished chefs, friendly staff and still has that Glastonbury magic

Amazing, truly delicious food, clearly cooked with love! The vegetarian and vegan options we tried were outstanding. My friend called the food an alchemical experience, so harmonious and mouth watering was the combination of various exquisite ingredients . The staff were extremely friendly too. We thanked the cheffe peronally for her beautiful gift of making heartwarming food.

Glastonbury friends brought me here, and we shared the Queen's Feast of various tapas-style plates. It was the best, most inventive food I've had in decades, just really superlative flavors and presentation. It's the kind of place that reminds you that food can be an art form. The restaurant is comfortable and casual, and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

Had a delicious lunch there 8th October. Best meal I've had out since???? Think we were a little confused by the server's suggestion that as we were a party of 6 we had to have the Queen's banquet. From this we understood that we had to order 6X the Queen's banquet which would probably have been too much food for us and also quite pricey. Having read reviews it seems as though some people ordered the Queen's banquet to share between 3. Definitely want to go there again but don't need a queen's banquet to myself! Thanks for the delicious food.
