Fantastic takeaway, delicious food and friendly service. Shawarmas were really flavoursome, and the sides were equally good. Would recommend to any street food lovers out there.

My navy mate and me came for a sports day out watching rugby and VILLA V SPURS in the cup . Wonderful atmosphere great display of cask ale. We were made very welcome and the only downside was NO Food due to the size of the bar lounge area. It's a great pub and shall come again when next in the area. WELL DONE to a lovely lady with long blond haie

Had a wonderful anniversary dinner at the SaltyMonk. Food was exceptional - we had the 8 course taster menu which they were happy adapt to our preference. Service was spot on and so friendly. Have eaten at some top restaurants and this is right up there.

Think the Bowd Inn will be getting fed up of my reviews. However, I travel around and this is still favourite place to eat. Staff are polite and welcoming and food faultless. Sadly I was unable to have my usual carvery due to be passing the wrong evening. I decided to have fish and chips. When it arrived it was amazing with beautiful large flakes of white fish. The lady dressed in red has been a regular face here on every visit who delivered the food to the table. Obviously the happy staff enjoy there job and it shows! Thanks again to all the team for keeping a regular visitor to the area very happy! I'm already looking forward to what to order next time.

Had fish and chips tonight at about 5-15pm so early chips were dry and hard definitely not fresh very disappointed

It's been almost a year since I bought a ticket to the princess ball event and I am yet to receive my refund after it was cancelled. Every time I ask for this to be done I am given another date by which it will definitely be done and then that date passes. I am one of many who are still fighting to get a refund. I strongly advise NOT to book any events as these will be cancelled and you will not receive your money back.

Great venue for lunch, always busy, good food at reasonable prices. Until today, prices have risen, the place was half empty, the food still good but not exceptional so why the price hike? My breaded plaice with chips, peas and tartare sauce was £16.99! It was nice enough, not outstanding and available elsewhere in Sidmouth for a lot less. If they want more profit and less customers I think this approach will work, we will think twice before returning as there are many other places to eat locally that offer better value for similar food.

A shock to see bakery staff picking up and cuddling a dog in the shop. It is bad enough that dogs are allowed in food shops but holding a dog whilst in their aprons and near all the bakery items was unhygienic.

Delicious coffee, at an excellent price (£2.90). (There were even yummy-looking gluten-free cakes available - but I resisted!) Really friendly staff. Highly recommended.
