The Clock House

Peckham Rye, Southwark
07/09/2020: It was my first visit to The Clock House and I am certainly planning to be back in near future. Met a friend for a Sunday lunch here and we were not disappointed. Nice menu of crowd pleasers and all-time classic given a modern twist, vegetarians and vegans will also have options to choose from. Our food was delicious, piping hot and beautifully presented. I ordered a veggie Sunday roast, the portions are more than generous with a Yorkshire pudding a size of the ball. Good selection of wines and beers to accompany the food. The place was very clean and had post-pandemic measures in place but still had a great atmosphere of a relaxed pub. Service was professional and friendly, our waitress Gemma was excellent and we had a good chat with her and a wee banter.Happy to recommend the place, food, service, location and standards did not let me down.

The Ship and Whale

Surrey Docks, Southwark
04/08/2020: Second time eating at Ship and Whale, but first visit during COVID19. Hand sanitiser upon entry and table was wiped clean for us. Despite it being a busy Friday evening, the service we received was quick and very friendly. We got a fish and chips which was delicious and big portions, along with some drinks. I’m not local to this pub, but the atmosphere from the residents and staff was so welcoming, I would definitely return. (The pub was also accommodating to us as I had to amend the booking a few times)

Arment WJ & Son

Faraday, Southwark, <20£
26/06/2020: I love Arments Pie & Mash! It's my fave and my go to comfort food. Espeically needed in these unprecedented times.I have never had it delivered though. Until today.Well packaged. Good reheating instructions.Tasty food as always!I know Arments has recently reopened for take away which is great. If I lived a little closer I'd be there all the time!
05/06/2020: Due to the Coronavirus we have been unable to get our usual 'fix' of the best pie and mash bar none. We used the online service for the 1st time and it was brilliant and easy from start to finish. Got this as a family treat for our grandsons 1st birthday( 5 adults really but good excuse). Tastes as good as always and a brilliant addition to all us Sarf Londoners no longer living in the area. Will defo be using again until we can get back down to our favourite eaterie in the whole world!!

The Lordship Pub

East Dulwich, Southwark
30/08/2020: What a find ! Spacious, Very ( as in very ... ) Covid-Aware - but not in a nanny state way ... a lovely welcome, great selection of well priced beers and wines ... then: the sticky toffee pudding!! Wow - made in the kitchen there too ... awesome! Andrew & his experienced team are a step ahead here ...
25/08/2020: Grandmother and three boys visited for lunch. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food which is a rare thing! The two children’s meals were good quality and plentiful and the two adult meals were highly rated. I had the plaice and samphire and really enjoyed the large portion of perfectly cooked samphire along with crisp but moist plaice. The chicken and chorizo pie was also thought to be really good. There is lots of space including an outdoor area and the service was friendly, efficient and relaxed. Thoroughly recommended.

Zeret Kitchen

Camberwell Green, Southwark
25/08/2020: Delighted to have made it back to Zeret Kitchen after so long. Every meal we've had there has been delicious and they have great vegan options. We had the vegan Kategna to start, which was a wonderful spicy bread topped with home made chilli sauce. Then we had the v egan selection for two, served with a basket of injera that you use to pick up the sauces. To finish, we ordered the sweet and salted popcorn served with Ethiopian coffee and frankincense ... A beautiful treat to finish with.As I said at the start, every meal we've had there has been delicious, and this was no exception. The staff, too, are always welcoming and friendly. Zeret Kitchen is well worth a visit, and the staff will be happy to explain the dishes to you if you're not familiar with them.
20/08/2020: Staff were super friendly upon arrival despite the mask situation! Good atmosphere, the place still feels nice and homely despite having less tables than usual. Great choice of drinks, we had the St George beer. Food is totally delicious, we had a couple of sides as starters then went in for the house sharer. Perfect place if you're ready to just get stuck in and enjoy your food.

Maria's Market Cafe

19/09/2020: Cheap, cheerful and bloody delicious!!! Ordered a sausage bap with loverly, juicy, herby sausages and a bacon, egg and bubble wrap (knife and fork advised, too much filling for the bap 😉) Great little pit stop in the heart of Borough Market! Will come again!!

26/08/2020: I always visit here when going to the Hospital and find the service to be prompt, friendly and polite. Food is well prepared, cooked and arrives hot.
