Shanel's Sandwich Bar in Southwark

My favorite lunch place when I am in London visiting my son and his girlfriend. Everyone is amazing / friendly esp Shanel. The food is delicious can't go wrong with whatever you order.

We were hosted in Shanel's son apartment and she invited us to have breakfast in her bar...everything was great and Shanel really knows how to make you feel like home. She really knows how to manage her business, she offers a broad range of options for breakfast and is always seeking to meet her customers needs...she seems to know all her customer preferences. We strongly recommend to visit Shanel's bar, you will have for sure a great experience! Congrats Shanel!

I always come here for my lunch, staff so lovely! I love the Chicken Escalope that's a fave! 5* service, I love coming here.

I’m from out of town, my friends told me of this neighborhood gem. I ate breakfast everyday from Shanel’s. The food it so good, freshly made and always served with a smile. If you’re in the area and looking for the best breakfast sandwich (those were my favorites) then pop in to Shanel’s.

Stayed just round the corner in Shad Thames and by accident found this cafe. The food and service was excellent and the prices reasonable. The lady owner couldn’t do enough for us to make us welcome so we had breakfast here every morning during our stay in London.

I've been popping into Shanels for about 8 years. From the first visit it's like being welcomed into a family. Food is always fresh and good, always a smile from Shanel or her husband and always look forward to going in again.

What a brilliant find! Delicious food served by Shanel herself who was so accommodating and happy to adjust dishes to individuals preferences. We had breakfast and a wrap, both of which were excellent. Can’t wait to go back.

Really friendly people, great food and dog friendly. I went in for a bacon roll and they made a fuss of my chihuahua and gave her some chicken for free. I’d much rather spend my money here than with a chain

Looking for brunch we agreed on Shanel's sandwich bar and oh my goodness we both agreed this place is a 10/10 very helpful and friendly staff, we had bacon brie salad on pennine and focaccia bread and shared them, just delicious 😋 we will be returning next time we come to London, highly recommend.

We loved our breakfast here! Only seats about 10 people but service is fast and very nice. We had omelets and they were very good! Not greasy, plentiful and a variety of fillings to chose from. Will go back again!

They have a variety of breakfast, sandwich choices and best chilli con carne in town!. I love their Jacket potato with tuna, cheese, peppers and jalapenos. Everything tastes so delicious! Lets not forget the omelettes! They are generous with the portions and prices are very good, it helps if you are eating out all the time. You are sure to be served with a smile and at a speed, as you would't want to spend your lunch our queuing up for too long. Thank you for my lunch everyday Shanel!

I work in the area so I go here most days, either to get some breakfast or lunch... Sometimes both. The food is great, always fresh and filling, they cover all the breakfast and lunch essentials. The staff are fantastic, always smiling and very friendly. Not every cafe take the time to learn your name and your usual orders. Over all, a friendly, quality, very well priced little nugget of gold.

I'm in the area a lot for business and pleasure but discovered this immaculately family run spot by accident . They do the best salads , Sandwiches, Paninis , Jacket Potatoes, drinks etc. Its another one of my home away from home collectives. Great for the local residents , businesses and tourists. As small as it is, I have had the odd business meeting with a client. The service is exceptional and caring. I could go on and on about them especially the two ladies at the front. Dis covered them in February 2016 and have become a regular ever since.
