Nice place, good food and the service is amazing

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Los comedores necesitan pensar: ¿Volverá uno? No lo haré. Nunca. Especialmente con la misma eficacia que le pagué a diez centavos. Tipo de cuchara grasienta. Pero el tipo que tomó la orden fue Superior, nos hizo esperar, y no atendió la mayoría de mis peticiones. No me gusta la leche en el café. Eso dije. Espumoso lechoso, leche - café rico llegó. Pedí tocino extra crujiente y sin salchichas. El tocino estaba bien hecho, bastante crujiente, no exactamente lo que pedí, pero bastante bueno en realidad. Pero... En el plato, una salchicha. La discusión sobre esto no fue edificante. Y por alguna razón la comida se enfrió muy rápidamente. Podría haberme quedado, tomado otro café, hecho algo de trabajo. Pero en ese entorno simple, con sillas fijas y una configuración de comedor barata no me sentía tan cómodo. Lo principal es que a nadie le gusta ser desatendido. A la gente le gusta ser escuchada.

Lovely staff and excellent food

Not very vegan friendly - the staff couldn’t tell me what out of the vegetarian options was vegan, bit worrying as eggs and dairy are both allergens! I was only asking about ingredients as well, not cross contamination, so would definitely not recommend for allergy sufferers

Slightly disappointed as the Pukka pie was microwaved. But full English pretty good.

Huge portions, old school greasy spoon style cafe. Veggie and Halal options available.

Treat myself to an early morning brekkie from here once or twice a week. Proper fry ups and mugs of tea. Mainly a tradie crowd in the weekday mornings with a more mixed vibe during lunchtime. Really well priced.

The worst food place I have ever been to. I ordered a chicken sandwich. When I tell you it was as though they just boiled the chicken and threw it some buttered bread. There was NO SALT OR PEPPER!! Let’s not even talking about general seasoning. I didn’t think a sandwich could be THIS bad! Like I was actually feeling so sick after, and put me off chicken. Interior does not seem clean either.

Excellent eggs and bacon but plate was cold and had to wait for toast that arrived separately. Once weather is cooler I like a hot plate! But I’ll definitely return if in the area. Thank you for spotlessly clean environment and friendly service.

Just my sort of place! It was a first visit, so not sure which counter to order at that's the only downside. I had a halloumi and tomato roll and my daughter had a wrap with halloumi mushroom and lettuce; both delicious. The bread roll was the best I've ever had! Lovely cup of tea as well. I live a few miles away but plan to visit again ASAP!

The food is very good. We have been going there for ages. however, there was a huge dog, maybe a great dane type thing or cross, lying down, blocking the doorway for a while, this would be a trip hazard, inconvenient to those coming in and out and people especially kids would feel unsafe which such a huge dog. I know too many people who have bitten by so called 'friendly dogs'. When asked if the dog could be moved from the door, as it was lying down blocking the exit and opening, the owner did not move the huge dog away from the door. I decided this was very unhelpful and unsafe for customers, this was a safety hazard pointed out but the business didn't do anything about it. We decided not to eat there today after all. It is such a shame. I don't understand why they thought a huge bog blocking the entrance clearly unsupervised was ok Very disappointed. I do think safety should come first, so this cafe unfortunately would be unsuitable for me if they have this poor attitude to safety.

A proper cafe! Lots of food options, plus friendly and quick service. Enjoyed breakfast here and would definitely come back again. Liked that the set breakfasts also included toast and tea/coffee.

Good sized breakfast with coffee and two rounds of toast included. Plus nice to see three hash browns on the plate. An ideal location for after running Brockwell parkrun.

Been multiple times, food always good, especially the fresh big bloomer bread. A nice mocha too. The staff are attentive, and there’s a toilet. On top of all that, interesting decor. Small outside seating too. Good caf! Have been back - so must be good.

Simple, clean, honest and great cost/benefit. Excellent place to try real British food. Go for the Shepherd's Pie with gravy

Not a fancy place but the right place for a great English breakfast, very authentic. We spent 11£ each for breakfast and orange juice. The food was even more than enough.

Local cafe, very nice and warm atmosphere. I had one of their breakfasts, everything was delicious and portions very generous! Very recommended for for a traditional English breakfast!

Try the salad selections. BIG MEALS and very healthy. The best salad meals in this universe and the next. I have tried other cafes salad meals for comparison. Star Cafe wins hands down. Great after a hard session in the gym.

Simple, honest, diner style, family like breakfast/brunch/lunch place! I’ve been coming again and again for their omelettes. Just by the parc, I recommend it. Service is warm, food is simple and good, there’s really nothing not to like.

Great place to have a very nice cooked breakfast or lunch 😋😋😋. Staff helpful and friendly and the prices are very accessible.. also next door to Brockwell park , so you can have a stroll after having a tasty meal . Already been a few times and will come back again 😊

Great menu. Typical cafe but clean, friendly and big portions. Some in our group had breakfast, scampi and chips and omelette. Avo on toast was lovely. If you love fresh coffee this isn't the place to go as only instant served here.

Had one of the breakfast set, (2 eggs, 1 sausage, 2 bacon, mushrooms and grilled tomatoea) which includes tea/coffee and 2 slices of toast for £8.20 Good value and excellent portions. Place is clean and staff are friendly 👍👍

I ordered the omelette. It was good portion and made well. Good prices. Simple interior, but good atmosphere in the kitchen. :) If i go next time that area I would visit that place again. It is good sign, isn't it.

This cafe serves great food. The menu is vast, and very tasty. They do a mean bubble n squeak and my friend says the kebabs are fantastic too..The staff are polite and nice too.

I've been staying with my granddaughter for a few weeks I don't live in London. She took me to Steve's cafe twice for lunch and the food was exceptional really good. I recommend everybody to try the place.

love it, from the friendly greeting as you walk in, to good food and quick service at a reasonable price, been a bit busy lately but don't seem to cause an problems, used a lot of cafes over the years, this is a good one.

Worked near this place for a few days - ended up being a 'go to' place for breakfast. Proper traditional 'cafe' with good menu and quick service - great food and nothing to dislike.

A very nice and lively place with delicious food

Ordered two takeaway iced lattes & two chicken kebab wraps-everything was freshly prepared and delicious (the wraps came with a nice little side salad). Premises are clean and nice having the front doors opening out onto the street for added ventilation. Staff were very friendly and approachable. Will definitely return.

Went in ere 2 Saturdays ago was Filming in Dulwich av to say what a blinding breakie and the the bubble was quality the staff were so friendly like a proper old skool cafe live 40miles from there when in area again will definitely go back in ta very much for a blinding bit of grub👍

Lovely cafe in Herne Hill with friendly staff. Hash browns , sausages and mushrooms were nice and the portion size of the breakfasts are great. The eggs weren’t the best but everything else was fine , will definitely still come back.

First time in visiting Steve's Cafe but it won't be my last. I had the special which was Chicken Kebab with rice, salad and pitta bread. The chicken was cooked well, not dry at all and had a good flavour to it. The portions were spot on and the pricing is very reasonable. Very friendly staff also.

Honestly this place is amazing. There are no faults with Steve's cafe. The food is great quality, it's done nicely (breakfasts are cooked properly in this place) the staff are super kind, and to be honest they had some renovations done sometime last year I think? The place looks great. My partner and I love this place!!
