Brunchies Cafe in Southwark

Went today with my children and let me tell you, we were not disappointed, the food, cleanliness and staff were top tier. Will definitely be back. Shout out to Sam.

Brunchie's serves excellent food and has a lovely atmosphere. The menu is exciting and the staff are lovely. I recommend the middle=Eastern egg and red pepper dish.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been in. The vibe was brilliant with music that sets the atmosphere but doesn’t overwhelm. Hosts that are friendly but not overbearing. Food brilliantly seasoned, tastefully displayed and plentiful. The lemonade is exactly what was needed- sweet, refreshing and clearly freshly made. A homey vibe that will absolutely have me coming back. Can’t recommend it enough

I had the smashed avocado and smoked salmon and a berry smoothie and it was the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. Lovely atmosphere and great service. Divine!

Good food but the manager was pathetic and wouldn't tell a family to turn off their loud iPads.

Insider tip!! Always well attended, but you can always get a seat without a reservation. The food was very, very good and everything was freshly prepared. Big recommendation.

Having been to this place a few times, it upsets me to write this as I have gone there for years, however, going back today after an short absence and ordering my usual (chimichurri wrap with halloumi) I found out they made a change to it by adding sweet bell peppers. I took the wrap back advising that i have an allergy to peppers and i had no idea they changed the ingredients of my fav wrap. After about 10 mins i went back and asked for it to be prepped to be taken away as my party had finished eating. When i returned to work and eagerly bit into the wrap i realised by the taste AND reaction that they just picked out the peppers. I had an itchy throat and nose for a while due to the allergy. I called them and they apologised but offered no explanation as to why they felt it fine to just pick out something which would give a customer an allergic reaction. I'm so disappointed as i have been going there for years. I write this review as a warning as one day it could be a severe allergic reaction and i wouldn't want anyone suffering needlessly

We visit Brunchies this week, and I love the food and the place.. the prices were affordable, we got fried chicken with chips, rice and plantain, delicious I love it! We didn't wait to long for the food, good service. We definitely recommend 👌🏾

Absolutely phenomenal food at such low prices for london that it feels like i’m stealing! Lovely building, gorgeously built and decorated, really friendly and lovely staff, if i wasn’t always hungover when i came here i would eat until i didn’t fit out the front door. Really recommend

Rating updated 2025 The food quality has significantly reduced since my first rating from several years ago and service wasn’t as friendly as it used to be. The heavenly pancakes I would not call heavenly anymore and The Brunchies (English breakfast) looked very sad and below basic. I cannot stick to my 5 stars rating anymore Original review 2020 After my first The Brunchies ( that's English breakfast on their menu) which was perfect we have returned today with yet another great food on their list. Service is incredibly friendly, food is fresh and tasty, smoothies delicious and pancakes..... just heavenly. We will be back for sure thank you

Well located restaurant, pleasant atmosphere with beautiful decoration. Brunch was delicious, especially the French toast. I regret my eggs Benedict a little because the sauce was a little too thick for my taste. On the other hand, the hot chocolate was sublime and enormous! The service is excellent (pay attention to the pronunciation of the dishes which can tickle the waiter's ears) and also pleasant. I recommend.

Hassan is an outstanding owner, who makes you feel more like a guest at his home than a diner in his cafe. The cafe was buzzing on a Sunday afternoon, but he had time for everyone and even rushed away to help a couple with their buggy. My friend and I had the signature ‘Brunchie’ and Hassan’s recommendation of the Red velvet cake was on point. The cake was moist (yes, I said it!) and so good that we got the Biscoff cake too. E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T!

Go here only if no where else open. Absolute crap. And I'm easily pleased. Waited 30 minutes for a small fry up even though the cafe was empty. Food was stone cold. Sent back items and food items still came back cold. Small portions for overpriced food. Avoid this. No mix up. This cafe is bad. I literally walked out of cafe and done review. Very cozy place. We were the only ones in there, but you don't understand that. The food is really good and filling. We had a vegetarian breakfast. We also got vanilla and chocolate milkshakes. A really good place for a classic English breakfast!

We had the halloumi burger and spicy chicken burrito. All was cooked fresh and very tasty. The decaf latte was so good, I had to have a second. The service was friendly and efficient. Prices were very reasonable. A great find, especially if visting Kings College Hospital which is only 5 minutes' walk away.

Came on Sunday for a family lunch and it was a fantastic meal for us all. Everyone by the end of the meal had empty plates and full stomach’s. Can’t wait to come back to try more dishes on the menu as the food quality is top tier.

Brunchies is a delightful, family-friendly spot I usually visit for my post-gym acai bowls, but today I decided to try their lunch menu, and I’m so glad I did! I was recommended the Pollo a la Canasta – Bolivian-style fried chicken – and it was absolutely delicious: beautifully crispy on the outside and tender within. It came with rice, chips, and plantain, which complemented the dish perfectly. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere that’s perfect for families. If you’re looking for a local place to eat with everyone, I’d highly recommend Brunchies. You won’t be disappointed – you’ll leave with a satisfied belly and probably already planning your next visit! It’s a 10/10 from me.

We have come from a trip from the Canary Islands to London and the truth is that we have felt very comfortable in the bar. The kids are Spanish speakers which makes you feel at home. The food is delicious, there is something for all tastes. We went to breakfast and I ordered a healthier and crazy brunch...very good and my boyfriend ordered the typical American one and it looked very good too. Coffees for all tastes and allergies and intolerances.

Lovely tasty food, and the service is always good even during busy hours. It can get hectic during Sunday brunch hours but it’s still a really good, reasonably priced spot.

El brunch que tuve aquí (las Brunchies) era delicioso. El huevo estaba perfectamente cocido, las salchichas sabían delicioso. Además, los hachís y el tocino fueron los mejores que había probado en mi vida! Encontré el halloumi bastante maduro pero esto es una cuestión de opinión. La comida aquí es simplemente increíble! Los precios también son muy buenos, lo que significa que combinado con la calidad de la comida, se obtiene una relación calidad-precio espectacular! Finalmente, el servicio fue genial. Nuestra camarera era muy agradable y acogedor y la cajera le preguntó a mi mamá cómo estaba nuestra comida al final cuando estaba pagando.

This place is awesome a lot of choices (breakfast,Brunch,lunch,dinner…) I am vegetarian and I have a lot of choices my favourite is egg florentine, warm goat cheese salad and I try the quesadillas (cheese and mushroom)today was so good. The owner/chef is so friendly and helpful. I recommend this place 100%!

What a hidden gem, a place to go to each weekend, so much on the menu and great coffee. Would recommend the omelette and pancakes 😋

The food is generally good at a reasonable price but service was zero to none. No smiling or greeting. Our waitress seemed frustrated and rude when asked if we could have water and then forgot to bring it to us. The staff were not attentive and do not seem happy to work here and it unfortunately shows.

Such a great place!! I loved the atmosphere with Latin American music. The food was amazing. We went for brunch and we tried a bit of everything- and all the dishes were great. Especially the açai bowl 100% recommended.

Great spot to have a friendly meet with fast WiFi and great staff. Fantastic location with easy parking access, well lit and lovely ambiance. The empanadas are DELICIOUS! Highly recommend this - fried chicken is even better. I’ll undoubtedly be back.

Fantastic food - the shakshuka and eggs florentine were delicious. Generous portions and friendly, attentive staff. Lpbely( clean, Relaxed modern interior and there’s a secret garden out the back . The coffees are lovely and I would consider fighting someone for the cakes - luckily they usually have a good selection, so it’s never come to that. Highly recommend!

Food was really lovely - not sure of the quality of the eggs as they are practically neon yellow. The coffee isn’t great, and the man who I presume to be the owner came over, spoke rudely to my partner and I and slammed the coffee down on the table in front of me and was clearly angry about something, not sure what the problem was as we hadn’t spoken with him prior but definitely ruined the atmosphere. The Waitress was incredibly sweet and tried to accommodate us, there are no substitutions for the food which is a shame but not her fault and understandable - just a shame she has to work for that unpleasant owner, hopefully he treats his staff better than his customers.

I had the best breakfast at The Brunchies, where I tried the lechon. It was incredibly tender and juicy, served with rice, salad, a banana dessert, and mojos. The owner was very kind, adding to the great experience. This delicious dish is available only from Sunday to Tuesday.

We went there for lunch and picked the crispy chicken. Oh my god. Tender and juicy. Crispy and flavoursome. Each bite better than the last. I can only imagine this is how the gods must eat. Sauce was nice too.

One of my favourite breakfasts and Brunchies is my favourite place to get it. An Acai smoothie bowl. Delicious and nutritious. Always friendly, welcoming and great service. My friend had the Eggs Florentine and was very impressed. Good serving size and tasted great.

This is a below-average greasy spoon type cafe with a pleasant, industrial-chique atmosphere and ok service. But, the food. The food is prepared with supermarket-level ingredients (still glistening ham on the eggs benedict, extremely homogenous "sourdough" underneath) and very poorly cooked. The eggs were overdone, yolks dry and nearly crystalline, and the shakshuka managed to be at once overseasoned and bland. Glancing around, the tables around us were being served plates that didn't look any more appetising than ours. The coffee stood out as particularly bad. It was made from overroasted and stale beans -- the typical nescaffe/lavazza type thing that you'd have dispensed from the self serve machines in a hotel chain breakfast buffet. Not the kind of stuff you'd typically pay money for. All of which is to say, pretty much tracking the average for London food, perhaps a bit under -- but definitely not an experience for anyone who enjoys food.

Had a lovely brunch/lunch with ladies I love ....food was great my plate was clean: my smoothie was perfect and waitress wonderfully patient. We had our own special cocktail just for us and the was really tentive. We sat and relaxed long after our food was finished. Atmosphere friendly and lots of people in and out all the time great Saturday few hours of laughter and chat.

Found this little spot in Camberwell and honestly the name doesn’t do it justice, we had a fabulous meal and home made carrot cake worth every penny. The owner is a good sort!🤣🤣 The food was so good I ended up buying extra portions to take home to the family. So good 😊. Thank you. I’ll be back!
