Never been before but impressed. Really nice fish and chips, very nice atmosphere and the staff went above to be super kind to our kids and us. His name was Mickey.

Christmas lunch at Lovejoys with the family. Food great and very generous portions . The service was impeccable. Great day thank you so much.

Lovely Sunday roast. It was extremely busy, other empty tables were being cleared, while our empty plates were left. We thought maybe other bookings were about to arrive, but nobody came for 30 minutes, so I think prioritising the customer at the table first, I would have given 5* for service otherwise. Staff friendly, and I would definitely visit again. The best bit about the roast, definitely the roast potatoes, the best I've ever had when eating out.

This was an absolutely flawless visit! From the moment we stepped into the restaurant up to the minute we left, really couldn't have been improved in any single respect. Beautiful decor, the music wasn't too loud, the service was impeccable (drinks at the right time, food served at really good intervals, food recommendations, the warm welcome and genuinely lovely team), the food was out of this world!! My husband actually didn't want to finish his middle course he enjoyed it so much! I tried dishes containing foods I didn't like - I loved every single one. Neither of us have the words to truly express how wonderful the experience was, even the little finishing touches...A total "wow" evening and one we'll look back on and smile about. WONDERFUL!!!

Me and my girlfriend went for valentines and couldn’t be more disappointed. I booked the table online and then had a call from the restaurant saying that I needed to pay a deposit over the phone, so I paid it. Then when I checked my bank account they had overcharged me for the deposit. When we got there the place had a strong fishy and musty smell especially in the dining room which was very unpleasant. We ignored this and was hoping the food would be good but it wasn’t. The prawns to start had so much garlic and salt on them and were tough to bite into. The main course fillet steak had a charcoal burnt taste to the outside, the chips tasted frozen and the blue cheese sauce was like hot milk with a hint of blue cheese. We decided not to stay for desert but because of it being a set menu they gave us it to take away. The desert was inedible they gave us 2 rock hard, Ice cold chocolate brownies. This is not what you expect for £150 meal!! Don’t waist your money or time going here it’s dreadful! ruined our Valentine’s Day.

Paid £49 for the smallest portions you’ve ever seen wouldnt get a takeaway from this place again if you were paying! Honestly who do they think they are??? Attaching photographs so you can see how ridiculous barely any meat just sauce what absolute scumbags!

Thought it may be different after giving it a swerve for a while but last week my partner stopped in for some fish and chips. The chips are clearly not cooked fresh each day they are like bits of wood, so rock hard I’ve never experienced anything like it. Maybe just avoid the chips if you use this place!

Tills would not work so couldn't even order. Greggs next door were doing well from it.

Smoky chicken Cajun rice & drink for under a fiver isn’t bad but the wooden fork mixed in rice makes it a bit messy. Still better than a BK. These EG Group services always have rank loos!
