Burger King in Braintree

This Burger King is, unfortunately, one of the most uninviting stops I’ve encountered. The car park is muddy and difficult to navigate, making the arrival experience less than ideal. Inside, there’s limited seating, and the overall atmosphere feels rather bleak. It seems like more attention to cleanliness and seating capacity could significantly improve the experience for travelers looking for a quick, comfortable meal.

Disgusting!!! Everything smells like urine. The parking lot is dirty and the employees are standing outside the restaurant smoking. We couldn't eat anything here and drove on.

It's ok but could do with the staff paying more attention to the dining area.

Not very attentive on the serving side, no one waiting, no staff on counter all talking out the back.

This place is utterly disgusting. Should be shut down

Food was good. My partner and i used the toilets at these services, and they were disgusting. I can't blame burger king, as there was other eateries also. Be warned ⚠️

Turned up out of the blue with 40 hungry school children at 8pm at night and they totally surpassed my expectations. They fed everyone, worked brilliantly as a team and delivered tasty food. Great customer service. Thanks to the manager Faraz, Richard and the friendliest chap whose name I have forgotten (sorry)

Very very dirty, junk everywhere. Toilet disgusting.. we have eaten outside and hope not to become sick. Wondering how the kitchen is if everything else is so dirty

Stopped off here for lunch. I love Burger King usually but this place is something else. On entering the place is grubby with dirty floors, definitely not keeping on top of cleaning. We ordered from the self service screens and was going to eat in. As we approached the counter to wait there was an awful smell. My son and I went to the respective toilets. The stench of urine coming from the men’s was eye watering, my son’s description was they are absolutely grim. The ladies not much better. Very smelly and unclean. Dirty basins and hand dryers that do not work. When we came out we all made the decision not to eat in as we couldn’t get the awful smell out of our noses, so we went and ate in the car. The food was the usual from BK and actually alright, shame about the environment.

Filthy and toilets stink, worst services I’ve ever seen. Rubbish all over the floor and dirty tables. 10/10. Would go back again though for a laugh

The only way to order is on the screens now. Leaves a whole load of people milling around waiting for their order. Might as well do what McDonalds do and bring it to the table.

Our first ever stop at a Burger King. The young lady serving us was very friendly, smiley and welcoming. We sat down and saw that the floor was covered with rubbish, uneaten food and general mess. There was no soap in the ladies loo and the hand dryers didn't work. It was the same in the mens. It was a very unhygienic unsatisfactory experience. I pointed out the problems to the Manager Grant. He gave monosyllabic answers and after some persuading put more soap in the ladies. He seemed uninterested. It was after this that I discovered the same situation in the mens' loo. Is representative of how Burger King run their food business? A totally unsatisfactory experience.

What dirty filthy disgusting place. Couldn't belive they are allowed to serve food to the paying public. Wouldn't let a dog eat in that place. We walked out.

Great place for a takeaway! The time we went was towards the end of the day, but place was messy and tables not cleaned! Apart from that any standard Burger King! Nothing special. The new Fanta slushy was very nice! Reccomend a try

No staff to take orders and just two terminals making long queues just to order food. It's supposed to be fast food but its anything but

A well, placed restaurant after a long drive. Sadly, the tables were not clean regularly, and spillages were not deltwith, but i feel this is more of an issue for people using the restaurant. Clean up after yourselves.

Burger King burgers are great. The place itself was filthy, despite very few customers. The staff all looked miserable as hell.

Very unclean. Food was OK, but the table area and serving area were covered in surplus fries and bits of lettuce. Very grubby.

Not the best Burger King but needs must when you are on the motorway. Never have enough staff, and the staff always seem new. Food is always mediocre, and the restaurant shuts far too early. Overall only use if you absolutely need too.

Dirty Disgusting place, we felt like we were going to catch something in there. It's clear they simply don't clean at all. Going to report this to burger king head office.

Very dirty restaurant rubbish everywhere and floors were very dirty, toilets were dirty and tables not cleared or cleaned.

Prefer BK to the big yellow M. Food did not disappoint. Big let down was the restaurant was filthy food and crumbs over the floors bin overflowing and toilets grim.

Probably the worst service station I have ever been to. Mess everywhere. Toilets were disgusting, nappies over flowing into the floor. Stop elsewhere.

Disgusting, dirt everywhere got a bottle of Coke and left as wouldn’t eat from here it was so dirty. Toilets are gross 🤢

Average food and a long wait for fast food

We stopped here around 8pm on a bank holiday Friday. It was fairly busy when we arrived but died down quickly. Food was fine - standard. However, The seating area was a such a mess - food and litter all over the floors, sticky tables, a maze of chairs. It hadn’t been cleaned in hours. The toilets were even worse. I’m not squeamish but what i saw in the far right cubicle I can never unsee. It will haunt my dreams. Partner said the men’s was awful too. Surely this is a health violation

Always happy smiling people who serve the food, fast efficient service, food hot and accurate with what's ordered, modern touch screen ordering system, large seating area provided, sizable car parking for families, conveniently connected Travel Lodge/Esso service station, highly recommended - PERFECT 🌞

We stop there on the way back from the Isle of white. We were hungry. Went in my two boys had a meal each. It come to £35 Very expensive I had four sausage roll from Greggs.£4.50 They were lovely. Happy staff clean tidy. It was ok. Burger king well chairs and tables with dirty. The floor was dirty. Went to the bathroom to wash my hands. It was disgusting. It smelt it needed washing the sinks had urine and it's not body fluids in absolutely disgusting. Looks like a dirty drive for it. Been in there and shaved in the mirror and left it all in the sink. Won't go back again. I'll give it a 2 out of 10,

Chips were cold, burger was warm. Not the best

I would recommend take away rather than eat in based on how it looked today, and more so, how it smelt it certain areas. It wasn't busy so I don't know who the responsibility is. it is was filthy in the seating areas and I could smell the toilets far before I walked through the door to them.

Stopped as daughters needed the toilet but looked clean and busy

You can get cheeseburger meal £5odd in there it's usually 8odd everywhere gets the 👍from me

This is a very run down/ probably well used location but no one cleans up by the looks of it. Wouldn't bother stopping there again unless I really, really had too. I would feel embarrassed to work there.

Just filthy looking and puts you right off even thinking of eating...if the toilets are anything to go by then I really question the hygiene standards.

Pulled in for a pit stop had the hamburger chips n drink for a fiver burger was small but very tasty and the chezzy chips was good for a fiver how can you go wrong when if you have a whopper it's that on its own

Unlike MacDonalds, all our food was hot, tasty & filling.

A filthy dirty restaurant with staff who stood around chatting whilst tables and floor were covered in packaging and food. No toilets as flooded. Needs a visit from head office.

Wrong order given, absolutely filthy and food and hygiene need to visit this establishment urgently!! Food on floor not one area clean. No gloves being worn or washing of hands after touch frozen burgers! Disgusting place and shouldn’t be allowed to be open and serving the public!

Just poor from the moment you walk through the door .... customer service awful .... discourteous, disinterested staff; very slow service; toilets and a positive health hazard and is the general lack of cleanliness...... and the only exit door only opens inward, which i pretty sure is a fire safety breach. Without a doubt the worst BK experience I've ever had ..... BK really need to make a spot visit .... as should the HSE, the hygiene is that poor!!!

The food was nice(maybe a touch salty, could be personal preference though) and the service was friendly and speedy.

Slow service. Dirty tables. There's a poster saying they give a toy with junior meal but they didn't have any. Dirty toilets, only disabled available, females broken.

Pulled off A12 ,middle of a serious downpour. Cappuccino hit the spot. The whopper burger was substantial with fresh salad & really tasty. The restaurant is adjacent to a petrol station & co shares it's site with a Greggs , so there are options but for the long haul BK is a winner. Staff are keen, friendly. Late afternoon,it wasn't busy, but it's clean - practical.Good parking , so you can chillax for a bit. I thought price was high, but it is a man sized portion. Good quality beef too. Ideal for families with kids needing a good meal.

Dirty and unkept. Filthy car park, far too many deep potholes. Considering the profit these places must make, try reinvesting a bit in the infrastructure

Good place to stop for a quick snack it does have Greg's as well

Customer service was poor and food was not very nice

I have been to lots of Burger Kings all over the country and this one is far the worst I have been to. The staff are arguing with each other. They always let you stand there for 10-15 mins before being served. The food is really bad too. I will not eat here again.

Food is what it is but service was worst ever. Had three people working and made one order at a time which took ages and I'm sure I could have made the meals myself quicker, which the burgers are already pre-made so not sure what took 20min wait. And the cost is stupid now days.

After using the toilets, (which where filthiest I've seen in a while) there no change I'd buy any food. 🤢

If coming from London/Chelmsford way this is the first service station alongside the A12. I would recommend take away rather than eat in based on how it looked today, and more so, how it smelt it certain areas. It wasn't busy so I don't know who the responsibility lies with as Burger King and Greggs are both housed in the same building under the EG group brand but it is was filthy in the seating areas and I could smell the toilets far before I walked through the door to them. The smell was emanating out towards the Greggs which put me off buying anything from there due to the pungent smell of urine. The positives were the staff were pleasant, the food was prepared well and tasted nice but the environment was horrible.

Lovely burger. Filthy tables, table legs, and floor. Young serve staff, no adults managing them. The two men working ceaselessly in the kitchen, the three serve staff having a great time chatting with the Greggs staff.

Being a fast food doesn't mean you don't have to clean bathrooms and tables :)

Generic roadside Burger King. Nothing special. It was 8pm and most of the indoor seating was closed.

overall good and good that the greggs and burger king are joint but your toilets are so smelly enough to put someone off going

Used these services when it used to be a Little Chef years back, and would love it converted back, now it's just a run of the mill services where pasties, burgers and pies are there for you to chomp on, clean toilets and restaurant area, has zero atmosphere so if you enjoy this there is uncomfortable chairs and tables to sit at for you.

I went in and saw a huge quee to use the ordering screens, so walked straight up to the counter and get served immediately. The food was as good as any burger king, so nothing really special. Just some sustenance for a long journey.

Place is FILTHY … food everywhere doesn’t look like it been cleaned in ages , staff not that friendly was more interesting in all having a laugh out the back..

We came here to get breakfast from Greggs on our way to a Rock n Roll weekend. The service was good and the food we had was tasty!

Actually, it's a joint Burger King / Greggs, we used the Greggs. Great food, AMAZING flat white coffee, plus it's inside the petrol garage car park, so everything you need all in one place! Highly recommended +++++

There is a terrible smell throughout the building. Everywhere Customer service is hopeless. Rubbish all around. The food is terrible.

The toilets can be smelt throughout the building. The people cooking need to be reminded that the customers can see them picking stuff out of the chips.

The food made kids and I feel sick. Shocking 🤯. How Can you you get cheese chips so wrong. Loaded fries with cheese was gross like someone had comited yellow sick on chips. Manager was lovely she needs a proper promotion as the stuff she had to put up with from customers and staff .. Great service regardless of food.

Had gregs coffee on way up to Ipswich track, staff from burger King and gregs really help full toilets where clean and a nice chilled refreshing break , excellent late
