Best Singapore noodles I've ever had! Was lovely! ❤️

Just had a brilliant takeaway noodles and dumplings from here. Freshly cooked and great value. Will be returning to try more of the menu. Brilliant

Just had the worst ever Chinese since lve lived in Braintree. The Special Fried Rice was tasteless and had hardly anything in it. Crispy Fried Beef was soft and not Crispy.

Our son lives near Chinatown in London and has always been a bit unimpressed by Chinese food in Braintree . We ordered a selection of dim sum and it was bloody lovely !! Their website is a bit hit or miss ie order shows as pending after it’s been delivered 🤷🏼‍♀️ but the the food is good and good value .

Our son lives near china town in London so is normally underwhelmed when he returns to Braintree . We ordered a selection of dim sum and he was really impressed . Vegetarian and pescatarian options are available . The only downside is the website isn’t great so shows your order as pending after it’s been delivered 🤣 but the food is good quality and well priced . It is the only place we have found veggie dim sum in the area . This is now our go to 💕

Food really good. Portion size good. Price good. Delivery was a bit slow, did get some free bits. Would definitely keep going back but would order a bit earlier.

Really impressed with New Hoviwa. Lovely food; up there with the best Chinese food in Braintree actually. Plus decent value too with the 10% discount they do for walk ins and collection. Would definitely recommend giving it a go.

If they had a zero star I would have done ! Prawn crackers basically not fresh ! Crispy chilli beef hmm no taste at all ! I could go !

Myself and my partner usually order our Chinese from here as they are one of the only places to do sweet and sour chicken balls, which are my partner's preferred dish. It has been a little tardy once or twice, but food still arrived hot and very much edible. It's certainly not the cheapest or biggest portion sizes, but is very comparable to every other Chinese takeout in Braintree. There was one time we ordered at the actual "restaurant" and it was a little off-putting as it was clearly a converted living-room in a flat, with kids toys about the place, but it doesn't stop us from ordering here.

Lie about size of dishes, pay extra for large and it comes as standard

Shame we can't choose 0 stars. Waited nearly 2 hours for delivery, and because it was so delayed, Just eat give us the option for a partial refund, which they declined straight away, cancelled the order and blocked the just eat account! Do NOT recommend.

Pre ordered foods waited nearly 2 hrs ,rang them up was told had lost my order. I said would wait half an hour for them to get it to me. Never came so nearly 3 hours rang up to be told My order had been cancelled without telling me. What terrible service won't be calling again . Didn't even want to give one star but had to.

Entrance is dirty and messy, made me question my food. Won't be going back

This must be our 7th maybe more and never disappoints. We started using this Chinese throughout lockdown and they never let us down like another one we ordered from. The duck is super, small pancake rolls great but I particularly love the large one as it’s not greasy at all! Dim sum my son loves and soup, many tried all liked. Crispy shredded beef, sweet n sour chicken balls, salt and pepper chicken, Singapore noodles, beef with broccoli and chicken with different veg all lovely, for us none to complain about and actually really very good. Omg the pineapple fritters and custard balls amazing. The price is very good, service for us always excellent and the drivers fabulous. Keep going guys we love the food and sorry we haven’t written before just saw this today. Totally yummy and great portions.

Reasonably priced standard Chinese takeaway. Very nice chow main, chicken balls tasty but the batter a bit limp. Very good beef curry and egg fried rice. All this for £18 as the 2 person set meal, and with prawn crackers. Will try again.

Sadly not written before but this is at least our fifth takeaway from Hoviwa. In our opinion we wouldn’t go anywhere else and we have tried them all in Braintree. The Singapore noodles amazing, sweet and sour chicken, delicious, duck etc tasty and not dry, pancake roll no oil at all dry and flavoursome, crisply shredded beef normally dryer just a tad saucy today but still great, other chicken and veg very nice. Great service, delivered on time and well done all, keep up the super work, no one else for us, thank you!!!

Just received my delivered take away , can I say it was the best, I do use this take away now and again , but thank you so much for tonight’s food, delivered within there time slot , lovely and hot , all fresh cook really enjoyed it , keep up the great work 👍👍👍

Fantastic food everytime. They always give me free prawn crackers and an extra 10% off when you collect or order in store. We usually get takeaway once a fortnight and New Hoviwa is the choice most times!

Not terribly impressed. Ordered 6 items including 2 lots of honey ribs - my THREE ribs for £5.50 were dried up and meatless (the 2nd set were a bit better), the honey 'sauce' was just warm honey. The shredded chilli beef (my favourite) was also really dried up, too tough to chew and in a very vinegary sauce - the only thing I have ever got from any takeaway that I just couldn't eat. The dumplings and chow mein were fine, but the Singapore chilli rice noodles had 6 chillies in it so it was really hot - be warned! Delivery did arrive bang on the time promised (45 mins after ordering).

We’ve just ordered food from this take away. Delivered to our address, opened up to find part of the order missing. Not a problem, they’re only down the road. 20 min later I am still waiting and my food is cold. Phoned back to find out what is going on. Was told it was not the owners problem and he has sent his driver out. We ask for a refund and he demands the food back. Fine so we scoop it all back up into pots and pack it away. The driver arrived and didn’t have any money to refund us. Phoned the take away back and again the owner tells me how it isn’t his problem. Even his driver said he has had enough and was quoting for the problems that he was having to deal with!

Best Chinese I’ve had in ages. Asked no onions , No onions . Great salt and pepper just all round good and not greasy x

Second time we’ve used this takeaway. Each time we’ve been impressed. I think it’s better than some of the others on the town we’ve used. Noteworthy is that some of the dishes that claim to be spicy actually are.

Had a take away a couple of weeks ago, ordered here before and been good, but not this time, disgusting and some of the dishes inedible very disappointed and will not be ordering again

Thought we would try this place, slightly disappointed. Food was quick to be delivered, but noodles were salty, sweet n sour sauce was a bit too vinegary. Will not be ordering again from here

Very disappointed with our food tonight. Sweet and sour sauce tasted too sweet and also had the taste of vinegar in. Egg fried rice was very dry. Spring rolls did not taste nice at all. Waste of money if I’m being honest. Very disappointed

This is a strange takeaway. As a single person I always order the set meal for one. Price is £8.00. It includes a curry that I like hot and spicy. They deliver. With Chilli. Great value meal if you are single and are hungry Have had other dishes that are odd. But you have to work out what is good and not so good.

Placed an order on just eat payed by card and got a phone call from just eat saying they cancelled my order saying i am tow far away but I'm only 5 mins away what a joke

when they're on point they are good if you like spicy curry then yes try they're salt pepper ribs

Singapore noodles were not the fine noodles as usual put just a usual fried noodles with a ton of curry powder dumped on them which gave them a really nasty texture in your mouth. Will not be ordering from here again.

So I thought the Chinese was nice except the prawn crackers!! Spider! 🕷 put me off the prawn crackers.

I regularly use this take away, I don't think its the best take-away in town but it's quick, easy to park, staff are polite and there's nothing wrong with the food.

Well they deserve some kudos for having an active web-site and phone number - the food is OK and friendly service. Plus you can generally park outside - I'm sure others will offer more in-depth reviews.

New favourite Chinese takeaway!

I should have googled first 3 stars Lesson learned. Quick delivery But Order wrong And customer service terrible when we phoned back. Was recommended to us as well. Wont be using again Shame as what food we had was tasty.

Food arrived before time which is always a plus but I was expecting lack of taste due to it getting here so quick but I was pleasantly surprised. Nice generous amounts, enough for breakfast the next day!! Full of flavour, bit on the spicy side for me but was well enjoyed. Would order and recommend this place....

Easily the worst takeaway I've ever had, everything was swimming in oil to the point where everything that was supposed to be crispy was soggy and limp. Very little flavour in any of the dishes, we ended up throwing 80% of the food away our dog even turned his nose up at it (I mean that literally).

Dissapointed. Won't be returning. Food selected was lacking vital ingredients and chicken balls were the equivalent of the KFC popcorn chicken in size
