Always a good service, they haven’t let us down yet. Food quality is the best we’ve found.

Large menu with all the Chinese takeaway classics. We had a few meals from here now. Best are noodles, fried rice and their meal boxes. Also not over flavoured unlike other places that have too much msg or are too salty.

The chips were dry, but everything else was lovely, delivered early which is always a bonus, recommend and will use again.

My order didn't arrive and my refund was cancelled at last minute. Would 100% not recommend if getting a delivery.

Ordered a few times from here and it is good, although tonight I tried the duck and it was very dry so it didn't get eaten bit of a waste and disappointment as it is normally good food.

Used to love this Chinese but recently the foods tastless! I don't know whether there is a new chef but the food has gone from a 10 to a 3.. Tastless and the sauces are so watery!

Stopped coming here for a while due to tasteless food then I thought it the only Chinese open today let’s try again after a couple months not coming here and surprise surprise it’s got worse, prawns were chewy as anything and everything was dry definitely overcooked, won’t be back which is upsetting as it’s nice to have a change of restaurants

Part of our order didn’t arrive. Some food was over-cooked, tough and greasy, whilst other food seemed like it had been cooked earlier, put in a fridge and then not reheated through properly, still cold. None of the food tasted fresh like we are used to getting from here. It was very disappointing and spoiled what was supposed to be a nice family takeaway. I think we will be trying somewhere different from now on.

Nice food but they missed off food worth £7.40 on my order so ended up out of pocket.

Hi have received my food. It is well presented and hot. It had to be resend. I live at Flat 6. The driver did not get a buzz at my door bell. Only a telephone call which I sadly have to admit I missed. The driver was very upset he had to redeliver the food. All other take away delivery drivers usually press at the door bell. To alert me they were downstairs because I am at the top of the building. I don’t mind going down for the food, but at least press the door bell. I apologise to him for missing his call because I was not expecting a call. I noticed the time had passed that is why I checked to see if the person had called me. I am deeply sorry I upset the driver but he was not satisfied with the apology. I am very sorry about that.

Just had a brilliant takeaway noodles and dumplings from here. Freshly cooked and great value. Will be returning to try more of the menu. Brilliant

Just had the worst ever Chinese since lve lived in Braintree. The Special Fried Rice was tasteless and had hardly anything in it. Crispy Fried Beef was soft and not Crispy.

Was ordered for a birthday celebration at 7:20 was told delivery 8:40 to 9 o’clock this was going to be late as we have children who need to get up for school in the morning. The food was not up to the usual standard that we’ve had from that restaurant before. The battered chicken balls prawn toast spring rolls and pancake rolls were all soggy and not pleasant to eat. Overall very disappointing and will have to think twice about ordering again.

hot and sour soup was not normal as expected . it was finely chopped up, tasteless bit rather than good-sized mix and a hot soup - not up to standard and would not order this again The main meal was cold not as Udall from this place

The next Chinese in Braintree , amazing flavour and ingredients

Our son lives near china town in London so is normally underwhelmed when he returns to Braintree . We ordered a selection of dim sum and he was really impressed . Vegetarian and pescatarian options are available . The only downside is the website isn’t great so shows your order as pending after it’s been delivered 🤣 but the food is good quality and well priced . It is the only place we have found veggie dim sum in the area . This is now our go to 💕

Our son lives near Chinatown in London and has always been a bit unimpressed by Chinese food in Braintree . We ordered a selection of dim sum and it was bloody lovely !! Their website is a bit hit or miss ie order shows as pending after it’s been delivered 🤷🏼‍♀️ but the the food is good and good value .

Ordered pineapple and cashew fried rice, no cashews in the rice. Vegetarian spring rolls tasted like they had freezer burn. Ribs in sauce weren’t ribs. Disappointed

Please save yourself time by ordering elsewhere. This guy is a joke, forgets some dishes then refuses to deliver. This has now happened more than once. He then proceeded to ban me from his shop. I was laughing out loud at this. Customer service very poor. Food also not the best. There is certainly better in the town. Rachel

Im sorry to report Im really disappointed- food quality lacking apart from the chowmein which was good. Vegetarian spring rolls had no veg in them and tasted of lemon. Really wish I hadn’t bothered. The Sweet and sour flavour wasn’t right either. I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon. Sorry.

Really impressed with New Hoviwa. Lovely food; up there with the best Chinese food in Braintree actually. Plus decent value too with the 10% discount they do for walk ins and collection. Would definitely recommend giving it a go.

Food great as always and delivered early only down side was I ordered a chicken curry and got a curry sauce instead.

The restaurant forgot my sauce for the prawns and I told them and they came back to deliver it, they gave me an extra portion of prawns for free, but they still brought the wrong sauce! Which is okay I guess, the customer service was good as they gave me a free item to make up for their mistake, but I still would have liked the right sauce lol

Delivery was early which was surprising. Food was fresh and very tasty. Very generous portions too. Would use again.
