Sewage smell on entry very off putting. Staff friendly and food ok but had to wait an hour ish between courses. Interesting that it was a library.

Service was a bit slow, but food was worth the wait

The best place to eat the family are a great team and always make you feel so welcome cant fault anything about them and the food is the best. Love this place

Omg where to start , service is bespoke and happy to cater for individual needs, food was hot and well cooked, and good portions batter on sweet and sour chicken was light and no grease, pork in my dish was tender and plenty of it , rice was light and fluffy, price was very good, a very nice family run restaurant and I can't recommend highly enough.

A long-standing favourite of ours in Braintree! Eva's service is top-notch—she's personable, professional, and clearly knows how to keep customers satisfied. The food is consistently excellent; I highly recommend the salt and chili ribs and the Thai green curry with king prawns. While they no longer offer an 'All You Can Eat' option as mentioned in older reviews, the quality more than makes up for it. Looking forward to dining in and experiencing their table service. Among the local Chinese takeaways, this one stands out as the best.

The service was excellent. The food was very average. There appeared to be a severe shortage of staff! We had to wait over thirty minutes between our starters and the main course. Unforgivable to me. We shall give them one more chance. If no improvement is made,forget it!

We had a lovely meal last night at China Dynasty in Braintree to celebrate my daughter’s 18th birthday. We received a very happy welcome by Eva and her son Antony who helped to make the evening extra special. Nothing was too much trouble. Eva offered helpful advice and suggestions on some of the dishes. China Dynasty is a small family run business with Eva’s husband being the chef - the food was delicious. All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better evening. Thank you for making my daughter’s 18th birthday both enjoyable and memorable. We will definitely be back! 😀x

Amazing food and service. Thank you Eva and Anthony for a perfect meal. Service was exceptional ,nothing was too much trouble and before you even asked there was a replacement napkin, hot towels after the lobster. Food was tasty and well presented sweet and sour sauce was light and not heavy , crispy beef , crispy and not swamped by sauce. We couldn't fault any of the courses and loved the picked vegetables so much we asked for some as a take away. Definitely now our new go to for dine in or take away and for us the best Chinese in the area.

Amazing food. As a vegetarian I was worried about having choices but very happily surprised. It had been over 10 years since my previous visit and not disappointed.

I've come here many times now and brought different friends here. It's always the same great experience every time. Staff are so friendly and lovely, honestly best service for miles. Food is always freshly cooked to order and absolutely brilliant. Portion size are good and price is fair too. Restaurant is kept clean too. Would recommend this place for anyone who in the area. First visit to China Dynasty in Braintree for my Mum's Birthday and couldn't have been happier with our experience. If you want a delightful family-run Chinese restaurant in Essex with the most friendly, helpful service and exceptional food then don't look any further. My mum even got a lovely cake and Happy Birthday song to round off the fabulous night we had. Would wholeheartedly recommend to friends and family, good value too.

5 of us for a birthday meal.what can i say.excellent service and food.we had such a laugh.the staff were so helpful in suggesting how much to order and even played a special happy birthday song when they bought the cake out.would deffinately go back and am considering the take away service in a couple of weeks time

This restaurant is the best I have had in England, their service, atmosphere, staff, and management compliment the food. Now the food, whatever you order it is exquisite, the flavour, size and presentation is perfect. Give this restaurant a go, this is a hidden gem. I will be back whenever I can.

Following the advice on the website we rang to book in advance. Our call wasn't answered, however we had a fast call back and the booking was taken for a Saturday evening. The person that answered the phone was very polite and informative telling us about the banquet was unavailable on a Saturday. When we arrived early we were greeted by a friendly member of staff and asked to wait in the seating area near the bar, sat down shortly after. This is a family run business with mother and son being front of house and were polite and courteous throughout. The food was excellent, kept warm with tealight candle trays. Good prices. Thank you for an enjoyable evening. Highly recommend.

Spent a great evening with my best mate. Had a few beers and some great Chinese food. The staff were very friendly and the service was great. Will definitely be going again.

What a pleasure! It was the first time my husband and I had been to the restaurant, we were made to feel like regulars, such a warm welcome and great service. The food was delicious, I am a veggie and the Tofu was the best I have eaten! My husband had the prawns in black bean which he said were really good too. We would highly recommend this restaurant and it's attention to Customer Service, #firstclass

Wow. Just Wow. I don't know Braintree food places well and really fancied a Chinese. My girlfriend said she thought there was one near the sainsburys so had a Google and saw this place. Reviews looked good so off we went . From the start the staff were Fantastic. We love our seafood so opted for a set meal with duck pancakes to start then lobster with ginger and garlic followed by prawn kung po, rice, noodles and a seafood sizzler dish. Everything was cooked perfect, presented well and tasted amazing . I could not fault the place and was a very enjoyable evening. Highly recommended.

Great fresh Chinese and Thai food with friendly staff, but not atmosphere. Unfortunately the UK radio doesn't fit to the taste of Asian meal. Why not Chinese music? Thank you anyway ;)

I have been going to the China Dynasty for years now, usually with my work colleagues and they never let us down. The food this time was really lovely and tasty. We have a member of our crowd who is gluten intolerant and he was able to find dishes he could eat - his favourite is the mussels in black bean sauce. My favourite Kung Po Chicken was really yummy. The staff are so efficient, smiley and nothing is too much for them. It was someone's birthday when we were there and the staff brought out a birthday cake complete with candles which was a lovely touch. We had a really lovely night out. Thank you China Dynasty

New to Braintree not long moved here so trying to find a new local Chinese, This was possibly the worst Chinese we have had mega disappointing £29 in the bin chicken balls over cooked not even a chicken ball more like a chicken strip just tough and horrible! Chow mien was undercooked noddles were hard not nice won’t be using again

First class family run restaurant

Ate at this restaurant Saturday 29th May 2021 our third company meal here. 17 of of us this time; X3 tables and as usual the best service for many miles and in ,many years. Good food too. Benson School of Motoring.

An extremely disappointing visit both in terms of service and quality of meal. Presentation looked OK but the meal was awful. Supposed Crispy Noodles were a soggy wet mess, Supposed Spicy Crispy Beef? - like eating bits of battered string and as for the sauce ??? Yuk! Vegetables were just a slosh and the Chicken Satay was presumably deep fried pieces of chicken on sticks with the most disappointing peanut curry sauce one could imagine - no hint of having been flame grilled or anywhere near a barbeque at all - seemed just like bland junk food! Service was terrible. It took ten minutes to gain attention in order to request condiment. They weren't even busy as we were first in! It seems that they really have lost the plot. So sad, so very very sad. It used to be a great place to eat. I'd still like to leave a tip however. Here it is. Send the chef to Singapore for three months to learn how to cook.

We used to buy from a different restaurant before we discovered China Dynasty. Omg how did we not know about this restaurant before?!?? The food is always fresh and delicious. They’re so grateful to every client and they treat you as you’re part of their extended family. We’ve been ordering from them for a year now almost every week. The food was always the same - amazing. I would never go somewhere else.

This was my first cautious takeaway since the easy of the lockdown. We hadn't had a Chinese meal since our favourite outlet closed down which was a couple of years ago or more! Anyway China Dynasty went out its way to be helpful, Anthony is a star! Our food was ready within one minute of us arriving and delivered directly to us in our car. It was fresh and hot and remained so until on the plate and eaten. we have our new preferred Chinese restaurant!!

I ate at China Dynasty last Sunday for lunch with a friend on our way back from Suffolk. We got a warm welcome from the gentleman as we walked in and he explained the Buffet is actually you order from the menu and you can have as much as you like. We had starters (ribs, prawn toast, satay chicken, and crispy duck pancakes and it was all cooked to perfection. The lady who we assumed was the owner was lovely nothing was too much trouble. Our main courses were king prawns, Cantonese Sweet and Sour Chicken, beansprouts, chicken with seasonal veg. It was delicious we ate everything. A friendly bye from the two staff working and a very nice lunch for under £20.00 we would love to go back but it’s over 50 miles from where we live but if passing I would 100% eat here again.

I have visited this restaurant a lot over some considerable years. They always deliver. The food is outstanding, I have never had a bad meal here and it is priced very reasonably. The family are lovely, nothing is too much trouble. Every year, my father in law visits from Cyprus and always requests a family meal here. If you are looking for good Chinese food cooked to perfection, this is the place for you.

Cracking food and lovely people

Last minute choice, turned up without booking but was offered a table if we could manage in an hour. Friendly helpful staff, great service, excellent menu choice and great food, presented and served well and in a friendly helpful manner. Great food, highly recommended.
